Usually the state is pretty good. However, my experience with this location hasnt been as favorable as with other locations. When they get busy, they seem to forget how to make your order. Even though its on their standard menu. Additionally comma they dont tell you what items are extra. Which as it appears, everything is extra. Make sure you double-check how the cashier rings your order. You could be paying double for your meal if you dont watch it. Based on my experiences with the other locations, I would have rated it higher for the chain, but this location has a lot to learn. Thats pretty good as long as its fresh. Make sure theyre giving you fresh toppings. Not food thats been sitting for hours.

Worst experience at a Cafe Rio ever. The line was very backed up at the cash register. They plated orders and they sat and got cold as it took an extreme amount of time for the cashier to ring up orders. The cashier had to make the desserts and take payments while others stood around shifting the plates that were getting cold. It would have been much more efficient for one of the employees handling food to also do the desserts. It took 32 minutes to get through the line. Although there is a lot of seating, many of the tables were dirty. All the trash cans were over flowing. There were no lids for the soda cups. I have eaten at many Cafe Rio locations and this is the worst one yet.

Wait until these people get better at their job. They just opened so Ill cut them a bit of slack but this was the worst experience Ive ever had at a restaurant. There was no air conditioning, the place was a mess, no one knew what they were doing and they had mixed up my order 3 separate times and ruined my order twice. I was rushed through my order and wasnt able to put anything on my food. Im usually really really nice about bad experiences at restaurants but this was just absolutely awful. I imagine theyll get better at their jobs over time but as of this moment, go to Chipotle if you want Mexican food thats better with a much better experience.

The food is great, however they consistently mess orders up. We have ate here many times over the past year or two and the food is usually very good. The service on the other hand leaves little to be desired. I can not count how many times we have ordered pick up only to find out when we get home the order is just plain wrong or missing something. We reverted to only ordering via the app to cut out the possibility of the order going wrong. Didnt work, still having issues. Dont leave without checking to make sure all is correct on your to go orders.

I love this place when nothing goes horribly wrong with my order or experience. Unfortunately, thats very rare these days. Like last time we went, where they ran out of anything but thin pie tins, tried making our salads in them, then wrapped them in tin foil when we insisted for a third time that we wanted it to-go (since every table was dirty and garbage lined the back wall because the trash can overflowed) and had to get a different drink because they have us cups they didnt have lids for.

Been to dozens of other Cafe Rio spots in several states; first time at this location. For a late visit (8PM), the staff here still impressed with fast service and ample loading up of ingredients. This location has an updated look compared to other locations, including bold colors, exposed wood, large lighted panels and images, and screens. Theres a good vibe here, and the food was great (as to be expected).

Been here a handful of times since it opened. Overall its pretty good. The barbacoa is my favorite and offers a sweet pork that isnt like anything Ive tasted from other restaurants. Thats worth trying if you havent been there before. They are very family friendly here and even offer free small quesadillas for the little ones. Food arrives quickly and tastes good...what more can you ask for?

Nothing extraordinary about Café Río. Its more of an experience than the food. Take it from a 1st Generation Mexican American growing up eating homemade Authentic Mexican food...this is not authentic. The food is tasty, but not true Mexican. I prefer Americas Taco shop instead or any of the Robertos or Alibertos Taco Shops in the valley. Heck, El Pollo Loco is better priced and better food.

Food was adequate, maybe a slight upgrade from chipolte. Guy preparing our food kept staring out the door and said he couldnt wait to leave, did a lousy job in prep work. Girl at register seemed bothered by taking our money and kept us waiting as long as she could. Trash cans were overfliwing. We wont be back. Poor service , dirty. Money is better spent elsewhere.

This was literally the worst Mexican food Ive ever had in my life. Crunchy rice, horrible enchilada sauce, cold, small and overpriced. Cant say much for the professionalism of the staff either. I dont normally leave reviews, but I just had to... This used to be decent whatever Mexican place was in here before they remodeled, scaled down the size.

The food and drinks are fresh giving it great taste. I like that they cook and slice/prepare the food in the open. Some restaurants get your meat from buckets behind walls leaving it stale which makes it taste bland. Not this restaurant. I had chicken tacos and mint lemonade, it tasted delicious. I definitely will be going back.

Lines are always a little long during the dinner rush hours, but entertainment can be found when anyone orders Extra Cheese or Nachos or Spicy Pork. The teammates behind the counter always jump into a jingle. The new rewards app is nice too if youre looking for some extra incentive to come and eat.

Quick service setup like youd find at chipotle, order while food is made in front of you. Fresh food, tortillas are being rolled while you place your order. Be sure to get a loyalty card if you frequent Cafe Rio. Also check out the daily specials which include a drink in the price of the special.

Pulled up 18 minutes before they closed and they already had everything shut down and the manager stoped me before I could take more than 2 steps in and said sorry we are closed but we open up tomorrow at 10am.. Sad Maybe you shouldnt post on Google that you close at 11pm

Corporate Mexican food that is the next step or two above Taco Bell. The food is pretty good but pricey. These places have been springing up all over Phoenix, but unlike other upgrades to fast food, I cant justify the cost to food and food quality ratio.

Not worth the price.... If you are going to charge $9 for a salad then it should have the value of $9 and not be mostly filled with wet lettuce and barely any meat, rice, cheese, etc... Go to Chipolte theyre nicer and you get your moneys worth.
