A friend of mine ate at this relatively new Angry Crab location last week and could not stop raving about it, so this morning, I got up and prepared to be there when they opened at 11:00 am. I arrived at 11 and was able to park right in front of the entrance. When I went in, I was immediately greeted by a friendly young man and allowed to select where I would like to be seated. They have tables, booths, a bar and outdoor seating. I selected the bar, and he settled me in there with a menu. The bar tender, Kaitlin (sp?) immediately came over, took my drink order, and quickly delivered it. I felt like I was off to a great start. I asked a few general questions, and since they were out of blue crab, I asked for a suggestion from among the boils of King crab legs, Snow crab legs, whole Dungeness crab (my craving was for blue crab specifically, but that not being an option, crab of some sort). She indicated that the snow crab legs were very popular. Because I had already done my homework in general, I went ahead and took her suggestion of snow crab legs, selected the traditional boil seasoning - spice level 1 - mild, and added an ear of corn to my boil. She placed my order and returned to spread paper on the bar in front of me (to catch all the mess made by eating boils) and tools for getting at the crab meat. After a short wait, my boil arrived in a big plastic bag inside a Coors bucket. I pulled the bag out and got started. The smell from the traditional boil was incredible (first good sign). I pulled out the corn so that it could cool enough for me to handle it. After getting the corn situated, I licked my fingers and (second good sign) wow, the flavors were perfect. The spice level - mild - had just enough heat to be noticed without burning. I took a bite of the corn, which had spices from the boil all over it, and knew this would be good. So I settled in to get messy and eat some crab. Im not sure how I should feel about this, but the crab, although DELICIOUS was really hard to get at. Perhaps because they were in a boil rather than steamed, the shells were slightly rubbery, so that even when using the cracker on them, they broke, but not clean through. When I tried to bend the legs to crack them (my technique returned to me), they also didnt break through to allow me to neatly suck out the meat. I finally realized that the meat was also sticking to the shell. Bottom line, it took me quite awhile to work my way through them - but it was worth the work for the wonderful boiled crab flavor. Part way through my crab, I realized I wasnt even beginning to get full. I called Kaitlin over and ordered the fried oysters (Id had them on my mind since previewing the menu) and got back to my crab. When they came, they were perfectly fried and good and juicy. The flavor of the breading wasnt quite what I expected. The flavor didnt hit any traditional note that I could recall. Having said that, I didnt dislike them, I simply came away thinking "Nice hot crispy juicy oysters, interesting breading through." Im not an expert but maybe they used panko or a bit of coconut. Ill ask next time. Bottom line, There will be a next time. It was hard work, but worth the effort. I read on the internet when I got home that boiling was the most likely crab cooking style to result in the meat sticking to the shell, and the shells ending up somewhat rubbery. In the end, a savory crab boil was what I wanted, and what I got. As I think of it, Ive never in my life had an easy crab meal. Luckily I wasnt in a hurry. The service was great (engaging, helpful, fast and friendly), the setting was comfortable, the food was delicious, the price was reasonable, and I left feeling like Id gotten exactly what I wanted. Oh, and if you are embarrassed to make a mess in public, they can package your boil to go. Take it home and get juicy with it!

So.... Im allergic to seafood so I avoid this place like the plague. In fact, I had never been until my girlfrind. So now we go on a regular basis because she loves this place... tonight we went and had the (sarcasm on) wonderful honor of having her highness Miss server Candice B. (Sarcasm off.) We sit down she comes over and asks what we want to drink and does her pitch.. Cool, cool everything is good. I ask for a kettle one and sprite and she asks for my I.D. cool following procedure. Then she stares at my DL then stares at me in the most awkward way ever, to the point where me and my girl thought it was a joke. Until she did it to her too. Ok, brings drinks back, forgets mine. The rest of the party arrives. We order food, all normal. Besides the fact that she has yet to smile or say hi or anything (cool maybe a long or bad day.) Takes order, food comes back, she forgot my girls food so we wave her down. Im old school I dont eat till everyone is eating so we let her know. She proceeds to tell my girl its her fault because she shouldve been more clear that she wasnt sharing a meal with her mom (she said me and my mother will both have the same thing the bag of shrimp. I can see that confusion. However never apologizes or says anything, walks away to place her order.... then.... she walks over to a table across the restaurant and start mingling with her two female friends. 10 minutes late, I stand up to get a manage because we never got silverware, no refills, and still waiting on food. Steve finally came over to help. And even then she still sat over there. Mayne a total of 15 minutes. Then she finally got done chatting when her friends left. Thats when she remembered she had a job. Steve killed the heat for the most part, but if you get candice, I recommend you change where you sit.

Food was excellent!!! Not sure if they were having an off day or not. A whole glass of water got spilled by soneobe at oyr table. I asked the waitress for towels or something to clean it up. They were gone forever. Went to ask another waitress for a towel to clean up the water. Shr looked at me as if, dumb founded. She said they would have to go to the back for it. But didnt appear to have any urgency. I walked back to the table. The 1st waitress had been there. She placed a small bundle of paper towels on the table and left. She didnt help clean tge water off the table. I cleaned the water off the entire table, cleaned the large amount of water on the floor, all by the time the 2nd waitress came back. What happened to customer service!!!! I had asked for malt liquor for my cod when I order it. She said of course. She didnt bring it. Everyone else got their food before me. Party of 4, 3 order Crab. When my food did come. The waitress just dropped it off, as if it was a drive by. I was trying to ask her for some malt liquor. She didnt hear me. But, it would have been nice, if she had looked at me when she gave me my food, or asked if there was anything else. I asked our waitress again for malt liquior, she said of course. She had now waited on three other tables. She never brought it. I finally asked someone else. She promptly got it for me. They forgot to bring the bread that was order. Everyone, but me was done with there food by the time the bread came. This place is crazy busy!!! Food is good, but service was real in personal. My friend said, its not normally like this. Friends at Angry Crab, please be consistence in service. Also, slow down and actually look at your customers, listen and follow threw when you say your going to get it.
