We had a reservation for a birthday dinner for my son. He chose this place. We arrived at the same time as another couple did. The doors were locked, and we and the other couple were outside for over 15 min. The gentleman made a phone call, and demanded to talk to the manager. They left him on hold for over 5 minutes. He called back, and they placed him on hold again. Third time, he finally got a hold of the Manager, then someone came to let us in, not really acknowledging the situation. To top it off, there was a couple in outside seating; that saw all of us, yet did not care to wave down a Manager to open the door for us. They were rude, and let us know that they werent going to move. Okaaay. We finally were seated, and it was already 2120. I was very annoyed, and already ready to leave. If it werent for my son wanting to come here, I would have chose another place. After several minutes, the Manager came to our table and explained that "the locking mechanism gets stuck, and it happens every now and then." So, anyway, he comps an app for us for $10! Forget that we waited outside for over 15 minutes, and had a reservation for a BIRTHDAY DINNER!! Yet we never even received a phone call as to why we hadnt arrived yet, since I had called to change the Reservation after 2000. Anyway...Now, onto the foodie side! We ordered crabcakes, and coconut shrimp. The shrimp were fried a little too long, making the batter somewhat dry. The crab cakes came with a slaw, and were really good. DS got a filet. It was divine! Yummy!! Hubby and I, ordered steak. He a NY Strip, and I, a Ribeye. Both steaks were perfectly as ordered. Daughter ordered the Mahi Mahi Tacos. The tacos were good. Mike was our Server. He was very cordial and attentive. He showed up when he needed to, and not a nuisance, as some Servers tend to be a little too much. He also brought over an ice cream sundae with a birthday candle that was lit. That was very nice. Other than that, the food is good, and the prices are a little more than average. Albeit, the Manager should have comped my sons meal.

So what couldve been a ruined anniversary dinner turned out to be one of the best customer experiences weve ever had at a restaurant in the valley. We visit the Firebirds in Peoria for most of our special occasions because the service is always great and the food is terrific, some say overpriced but I think that the quality of the food and service make up for it. We visited the establishment tonight for our anniversary, I had made a reservation and when we got there we were told our table was not ready so not starting off on the right foot but I figured its our day so im not going to let it bother me. We sat down, they were extremely busy but our waiter Joey was prompt and gave us time to look over the menu, we ordered and got our appetizer and our salads no problem in a timely manner, we then started to notice food coming out to other tables that had been seated after us, before we even had a chance to say anything our server came to us and let us know honestly that there had been an issue and somehow our entrée orders never got to the kitchen and he needed our order again and hes ALREADY spoke to a manager and they would comp our entrees. We didnt even have to ask! The manager Casey also stopped over and apologized and checked on us after we finally got our food, he then stated your dinner is on us. I was thinking once again wed be paying for everything but our steaks which were DELICIOUS. I cant tell you how much I appreciate them being honest and pro active!!! They actually comped our whole bill for the mix up and we hadnt even mentioned it was our anniversary. I ordered a desert just so I could get a bill for something and leave Joey a tip. Thanks Casey, Joey and Firebirds for saving our night and continuing to be our favorite place!!!

OMG Terrible experience ! My daughter and I visited Firebird Grill to try their burgers. We both ordered a burger and also crabcakes. The crabcakes were very good. The burgers were good until I picked up the second half of my sandwich. There was a HAIR coming out from the middle of my burger patty sticking out about two inches! DISGUSTING. Now I dont know if it pulled out when I cut the burger in half or if I had already eaten the other end of the hair. Or whatever else was in that burger. DISGUSTING! I showed the manager Jason Kording the second half of my burger with the hair sticking out. He was very calm and almost nonchalant about it. He did apologize and said that it never happens. He apologized more than once and offered to bring two new burgers out. I was literally sick to my stomach after what happened and told him so. I also told him that i kept thinking what else could have been in that burger. I declined the new burgers and just wanted to get out of there before i started to gag. He gave me his card and said if we were to give them another chance to call him. He also did not charge us for our meal. Professional demeanor. After two weeks I called Jason to give them another chance. He remembered me and took my reservation and said that he would be on duty that night. I am sitting here thinking about what happened and I am not sure if I will keep that reservation.

WAY overpriced for the service and quality of food that we received. My wife, daughter (7yrs old) and I attended this restaurant on 1/1/2017 for a late lunch / early dinner. The service was absolutely atrocious. Drink refills required flagging someone down and asking them to refill, along with a 20 minute turn around. The appetizers were OK, but typical of a national chain (rather bland and of course fried). We ordered "ranch rings" which were 9 onion rings for $9.35 (over $1/ring), this is a bit extravagant for a deep fried food. In addition to the poor service, I was presented with a well done sirloin after ordering a medium rare rib-eye ($28). The manager came by after I commented that I had never eaten such a lean and tough Rib-Eye in my life. He insisted that a little piece of fat on the end of the steak proved it was a ribeye (no marble, no edge fat except a 1/2" piece that was the size of a dime.) Then he proceeded to tell me the COW decides how tough a steak is going to be..... Anyway, I have had it with terrible chain restaurants, and this place topped the cake. The wait staff and manager were content with BS excuses. The prices at this establishment far exceed the service and quality of goods.

Firebirds in Peoria AZ has been our go to restaurant for almost 8 years. They really do have the best food in the west Phoenix area. Their menu has not changed in years but that means they have dishes that are consistently very good and they are always worth waiting for. Try the Strawberry gorgonzola salad and add some Ahi Tuna on the side with their dipping sauce. All the flavors together are a mouthful of heaven. On our last visit, the only reason they did not get 5 stars was whoever was watching the pass sent out a very rare steak and rare prime rib that were both supposed to be medium. No excuse for that at this fine establishment. The dishes were fixed but we expect the dishes to be right the first time. I could count on one hand how many negative issues we have had here in probably over 100 dining experiences in 8 years so they are still our go to place for any special event or just a nice night out.
