Absolute definition of fake Cajun, with a few good dishes. As with most fake Cajun, they caked the meat choice with seasoning to the point where the meat was completely drowned. The alligator appetizer was excellent -- after I requested that it be cooked with half the seasoning. The dipping sauce and the frog legs were good too. The fries were amazing though! I would give this place zero stars if I could, but the fries were really great and earned them the one star... ;-) I grew up in South Louisiana, and have eaten hundreds of the dishes I ordered at this place. Never once have I seen or heard of a crawfish poboy served with chilled crawfish on some type of dense roll(not French bread). When I asked about the refrigerated crawdads, they said "the owner went to Louisiana and got this recipe," as if that made them experts. The waiter AND manager copped an attitude at the fact that I would even dare to question the awesomeness of the supposed "Louisiana" recipe. They wouldnt even heat up the crawfish and slap it back in the same bun to at least make it edible! The "boiled crawfish" was also terrible. Ive had better crawfish bought frozen at WALMART, seasoned with Tony Chacheres, and cooked in a MICROWAVE. It was seriously awful, and most of the poundage was inedible claws. The oysters were not fresh(yeah I know, oysters in AZ) and had a weird color, almost looking like plastic replicas. They sucked as well... and yes, Ive eaten plenty of great oyster in AZ. Now for the meal time entertainment... They ran out of utensils for the lobster, and gave my friends a ROCK to break open Lobster shells! The lobster was also not purged, so upon cracking the shells like a freaking OTTER, my friends were greeted with a healthy dose of lobster crap oozing over their meal!!! If youre looking for actual cajun or decent seafood, this is most definitely not the place to find it.

LOVED it!!!! Tried it for the first time with some friends and their kids and my husband and ours, so we braved this place with 5 kids ages 2-8, and THEY loved it! While we were waiting for our food, a random server brought over a live crawfish and kinda freaked out/amused the kids. :) It was DEFINITELY messy, but in a fun way! I ordered the snow crab, corn on the cob and cajun fries. Im used to the lukewarm, kinda blah crab legs from a Chinese buffet, so these were just AMAZING! I ordered mine with the Trifecta seasoning and Spice Level 3--perfect for a Heat Seeker like myself. It was loud & fun, servers were cheerful and seemed to honestly love their jobs, service was great and our server Derick was great at breaking down how to order the food (its served by the pound), making recommendations and answering the questions I had. Last, Im pregnant with twins so naturally my appetite is practically insatiable these days, and lets just say my husband can really put it away, yet still, all in all INCLUDING a 19% automatic gratuity and dessert, we only spent $63 and some change on our family of 5, so it was just a great experience all around. Will DEFINITELY be back!

Well unfortunately this place has gone downhill this year. This WAS our favorite seafood place, we even came here over Salt Cellar. We have probably been here 30 times since opening, but the last 2 times have been horrible. We came right after the new owner took over and were very disappointed. Today we decided to give it another try. Lobster was horrible, and over cooked. We both ate our claws, but had the same non-fresh complaint about them. We tried eating the tail and it was so rubbery we spit it out and left the rest of the lobster on the table. The garlic butter in the bag tasted horrible, like the butter was some fake processed junk and there was almost no garlic. The shrimp on the other hand still tasted good, but there was almost no sauce in the bag. We were literally scraping the bag with our shrimp to try and get some flavoring on the shrimp. When they first brought out shrimp out they messed up our order, but were quick to fix it so I do appreciate that. I hate saying this but I believe we wont be coming back. I know a new cajun boil place is opening down the road so it is time to try them instead.

This place has a fun and inviting atmosphere but the food is somewhat lacking. The chairs are very uncomfortable and if youre not at a booth youre basically bumping elbows with the party next to you. The seafood was good and priced fairly per pound, however, we paid $12 for a pound of clams that was only empty shells with maybe 6 pieces of clam meat. The potatoes, sausage, corn on the cob, and butter all cost extra. Its fun because you get to use your hands (no silverware or plates) but theres no salt or pepper or any other seasoning available other than what they give you when they bring out your bag of seafood. The staff is very nice but the food was bland, even with their sauces and seasonings. I would have preferred to get everything all plain instead. The shrimp come with their heads attached as well so if you dont eat the head, youre throwing away more money per pound of shrimp. Overall, will probably not be coming here again. Joes Crab Shack is a better value and has more flavor in my opinion and the atmosphere is just as entertaining.

Really couldnt decide between 3 and 4 stars. Food is good but service was bad. Went for a birthday party and had a table of 25. And I dont know if the waiter wasnt use to handling big parties or had a bad experience but he was somewhat aggressive to us. He would tell us what exactly was going to happen, not to switch seats, etc. And made a huge deal about it. I know he wanted to get tickets correct and everything but he somewhat demanded us and I did not like it. Pros -Somewhat aggressive but really was on top of things -Husband (who has traveled a lot and had great seafood) said he liked it and that it wasnt a bad price -Mom said they gave her a good serving and liked it -Liked how they recycle their trash Cons -Ordered a side of corn bread and it was literally a 1 inch by 1 inch piece. Still cant believe I paid for that little bite. -Waiter was very "this is what is going to happen" Would I go back for the service? No. But for the food? Yeah we would go back. Obviously in a smaller party.

The food is always excellent! The service is terrible. The friendliest person at the east mesa location was the host, too bad you only see her for 30 seconds of your experience. Our waitress came to the table empty handed and left empty handed. We had a stack of dirty baskets, buckets from crab legs, rolled up paper, cups and she never cleared any of it away. Even brought our dessert and left all the garbage on the table. I waited tables for 10 years and so did my sister who was with me, that is poor service. Not to mention it there was 8 of us, 4 adults, 3 kids, and a baby and gratuity was added to our bill. If I go back there I will ask to NOT sit in Violets section and probably will never return to this location. Phoenix treats their customers way better. Very unhappy after spending $290 and cant even get our table cleared.
