We went last Monday the 5th of April and were not completely satisfied. We drove up from Phoenix for a small road trip and decided to come to Jerome and see what it had to offer. After being in the car for quite some time we decided to look for a place to eat. We could smell the Haunted Hamburger before we could see it, and finally could tell where it was. When we arrived we were sort of greeted by a man standing at the service desk. He asked us how many we said 2 to which he replied we could sit at the cramped table right near the patio door, or sit outside on the patio, or the bar. Well we opted for the patio, however it was a bit cold and we werent dressed for the weather up there, but bared it. It took us a while after we were seated to get out menus and another little while before we were greeted by a waitress. When the waitress finally did come she had said a comment similar to "To those of you who it applies our drink specials are blah blah" all the while looking at me. I am legally of age to drink and I find assuming one is not and basically making it seem like one cant order because youre assuming is very rude, why not just say "Our drink specials are blah blah" so that rubbed me the wrong way. We ended up ordering some drinks (2 cherry pepsis and 2 waters) and those came out quickly. She proceeded to take our order and I ordered chicken fingers and my boyfriend ordered a chicken sandwich. It seemed like it too quite a long while for our food to come out. Our waitress addressed this and said that the food would be out in a minute. When we did get the food it wasnt hot hot like you would think it would be when she said it would be right out, no it was warm, almost like it had been sitting on the counter waiting for her to pick it up. We both were looking forward to our warm hot hot food due to the fact we were freezing outside. To my surprise the chicken fingers didnt come with much, 3 fingers/strips and some potato wedges with a side of ranch all for $7.99... She came back asked us how our food was we said good, and she left never to be seen again until we were done with our food. She never refilled our sodas (yes we had water but I like a little of both) and those bad boys cost us $2.99 a piece and not once were we refilled, cause sometimes chicken tastes better being washed down by a soda. Finally she came and gave us our check. The total was around $26 and it seemed a bit over priced for the proportions. Im glad we came and tried, but I dont think well eat there again at least not for another year to try to see if things have changed. We are critical because we work in the service industry and knows what flies and what doesnt.

Absolutely terrible. Literally the worst service Ive ever experienced. We went for my grandmas birthday. We walk in and one hostess greets us, takes our reservation name, and says ok hold on one moment, and walks away. Another couple walks up behind our party of 3. A different hostess comes up and proceeds to takes the couple to our previously reserved table. The original hostess comes back and says oh Im sorry but we have a table upstairs with a view. We proceed up the grimy stairs to our table...without a view might I add. The table we were given was dirty and there is was food debis on a chair. My grandma politely asked a waitress for something to wipe the seat down with and she wipes it down with a wet washcloth and gives my grandma a very dirty look the waitress (Spring) then gave us our menus, no eye contact, no hello my name is Spring Ill be your server today, not a single word, nothing polite whatsoever. She then goes behind the little bar they have upstairs and starts complaining, glancing and giving dirty looks towards us and starts talking bad about my grandma to another waitress. The other waitress then comes up and introduces herself to us. We all ordered the same haunted burger is wasnt bad, really greasy, and they also have a condiments bar but the lettuce was limp and there was a couple flys hanging around there. Anyway were eating bumping elbows with the other people at their tables all the while having the waitress and other guests butts grazing your back as theyre trying to manouver around. We finish, we pay, and were walking out and a waitress cuts my mom off and my mom says "excuse me" and the waitress just stood there as my mom walked past her and right after my mom passes her the waitress begins mocking my mom behind her as shes walking away. The manager was then told about the way his employees are treating his customers. All I know is Im never going there again, it certainly isnt anything special, and Im definitely not recommending it to anyone.

I heard about Au Cheval in Chicago having the best burger, so I went there and had one and it was awesome. My good friend told me about the Haunted Hamburger in Jerome Arizona, so I went there with 3 good friends. We found a space at the bar .They have some craft beers, regular beers, some awesome cocktails. I like a crappy coors lite with a shot of jack, which was delivered promptly. The bartender said it was his favorite. Thanks, I know it isnt but he was nice. I saw a margarita being served with a small bottle of corona attached to the top somehow and it drained into the margarita glass as you drank the margarita, how awesome is that. So anyway our table is ready. What an awesome view. At that point they could have served beans and bacon, I would have been happy but, the menu has some awesome things on it which do not disappoint. Our server was friendly and spunky, which I like. I ordered the southwest sourdough burger. I added an fried egg. I asked for the egg to be cooked so that the middle was like mayo. It was fantastic. You will not be disappointed here unless you are a jerk. Best burger in my book so far, or at least second, Au Cheval, never change.

Visited Jerome in February and was excited to try this place after reading the reviews. I honestly dont know how this place has such awesome reviews. First, it took forever to get drinks and even longer for our food to come out; nearly 45 minutes. My boyfriend ordered the chili burger and couldnt even finish it. The chili tasted like Hormel Chili from a can even though the manager told us they make their own chili; I highly doubt it. I ordered the charbroiled chicken sandwich and it tasted like something from Wendys. I also read other reviews raving about the condiment bar. However, nothing was on ice. The mayo was just sitting out. By the time I got my sandwich, walked up and waited in line for condiments, and went back to my table my sandwich was cold. Also, it is in the front and you have to dodge people coming in waiting for a table. I honestly dont understand how that is sanitary. I ended up throwing up what I did eat. Will not be back. Side note - Grapes Restaurant & Bar is owned by the same people. Unfortunately we went here the next day and didnt realize until after we ate that it was the same owners. I wouldnt recommend eating at Grapes either.
