Wanted to like this place as its right by work and near home, BUT....service on a slow Saturday night (9/3/16) left a lot to be desired. Not sure which was worse; the bartender yelling across the restaurant about one of her patrons "spit" cup or her complaining about why she didnt feel she needed to tip out the hostess later, OR the fact that our server had a "do you want fries with that?" attitude vs. providing dining service. He seemed bothered when I asked questions about the menu, and the specials (he had no idea and had to step over to the board then read them back incorrectly). Not sure his attitude would have been different knowing this was our first visit since he didnt bother to ask. Thankfully the chef came out and inquired about what I was in the mood for, although this caused confusion for our waiter and he seemed lost for a bit. The food was good; however, did not meet our expectations. At $15 penne a la vodka + $5 to add shrimp and $15 lasagna (entree only, no bread or salad, granted both are usually just cheap fillers), we were hoping for better flavor. Maybe they are more successful with their carry-out, pizza, and lunch prices, but definitely would not return for a casual date night. Management should be concerned as Pizza A Metro is advertised as "fine dining at casual prices" and this is the 3rd version of Italian restaurant in this same location.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! I have no idea how this place has acquired 4 stars. Ill start off with something nice. The server we had was amazing kind, caring, and attentive. (Needs to seek employment elsewhere) Now for the not so nice. I brought my entire family here for my brothers birthday and Im completely embarrassed. There were NO OTHER PATRONS in the restaurant yet the kitchen was unable to get our food out in any sort of order or timely manner. The Pizza is below subpar. My cousin ordered the "specialty fig prosciutto pizza" as an appetizer which never came out until we asked a second time, finally as dinner was served that pizza appeared. It was a joke, a cheese pizza with arugula thrown on top some dried figs and maybe 3-4 tiny slices of prosciutto hidden under the arugula. Another family member ordered the BBQ chicken pizza it came out dry, no sauce and zero flavor. We discovered that there wasnt a chef in the kitchen just a young girl taught how to put together the food. When we complained the server admitted he has heard these complaints before and was extremely apologetic. There was no manager on site and all the server could do was apologize over and over again. This is the second chance Ive given this place and will never go back. Please go anywhere else than here, even dominos (which is disgusting) would be better.

Browsing through the other reviews will reveal a split in opinion. Either a vicious 1 star review tearing this place apart, or a 5 one that is defending it. Eating at this place myself I noticed most of the problems in the 1 star reviews do exist, but not nearly to the levels that they might claim. First off, the food is not slow. It takes about the time it should take to make a quality pizza (if you want quick bad pizza go somewhere else). However although the time is right on point for this place the pizza is not. The negative review that said the crust tastes like a rice cracker is not entirely incorrect. Although I found that rice cracker crunch to be quite relaxing. The sauce is minimal but plenty. I ordered the short rib pizza and it complimented the pizza nicely. My main problem with this pizza was that the bad review about not putting enough meat on the pizza is absolutely correct. Wish there was more. Still the pizza had a surprising sweetness to it that I ended up enjoying (if not for the reasons I should have). Also the waiter pushed me out the door pretty quickly. I wanted to order desert but he handed me my check without asking while I was still eating my pizza, and then never came back around after I paid. He also said he would bring me bread before my meal and never did

No hospitality. It also appears to be a lot of fake reviews. The food is good, but not welcoming at all. We live across the street and tried several times. 1st time I was over charged $60.00 and pointed it out to the waiter who said nothing, while giving body language like it was such a inconvenience making very awkward. I have watched over the year as they try new maketing almost weekly it seems, such as, Burgar lunch combo, taco Tuesday, obviously struggling trying to find something that works. We have seen the sign up for 2 weeks now about 3.99 big breakfast here. Sat & Sun. So Sunday the family walks over at 9:40am to give it a shot and they say we dont open till 11 were not doin the breakfast yet until we figure it out. People go to neighborhood bars restaurants even if the food sucks because they feel welcome. This is such a bummer that I hope hope is fixed. I sell a lot of homes in this neighborhood and would love to be able to say "Theyre is a great neighborhood place to eat on the corner that I go to every week." The owner has to be burning money on marketing and should just investing money in great welcoming people with hospitality that you look forward to seeing .

I dined here a few days ago with a couple of friends and the service was horrible. When walking into the empty restaurant, the chef was too busy flirting to notice us and then called someone from the kitchen to seat us. After being seated and taking our order, the waiter was too busy talking with the chef instead of refilling our drinks. When the food finally arrived, my order was wrong and after re-explaining what I ordered, the server went to talk to the chef for 5 minutes, then came back and said despite being on the menu, they do not serve that here. He did not offer any sort of apology for the inconvenience or not knowing the menu well enough to tell me what I ordered was not really on the menu. I waited another 20 minutes for a different entree while the rest of my party ate. When my food finally arrived, the calzone was unimpressive. The sauce was soupy, not a lot of cheese, but I guess the bread was decent. The server proceeded to charge us full price for all of our entrees, despite the mistake. We were the only people in the restaurant, and still did not receive acknowledgement when we left. Definitely never going back again.

Worst service experience ever. We stopped in last Friday night around 9:30 for dinner....kitchen was supposed to be open till at least 11. We were completely ignored when we walked in, despite some guy being at the host stand and several people at the bar. After a minute or two this rude, exasperated, homely little girl comes stomping out from the back, sees us standing there and visibly sighs in annoyance. Dropped shoulders and rolled eyes and all the drama that goes with that. She came over, snatched three menus, hissed "three???!!???" at us and tossed the menus on the table and stormed off. This brat obviously didnt want customers- which is the same vibe given by the rest of the staff. They made us feel as if we barged into their living room uninvited. So unprofessional. We walked out and wont ever go back. Its a shame as the good is actually quite good. Ive eaten there twice before and the service was lackluster at best but not openly hostile like thus.
