Make reservations for this place! We went there last night at 6:00 p.m. without a reservation and were promised no more than a 30 minute wait, but it was a little longer than that. However, we sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the bartender and his suggestions and knowledge about the food, the good margaritas, and the live entertainment – a solo guitar player last night. The atmosphere was fun and lively. There were 3 of us and we all liked the food. The yummy complimentary tortilla chips were very thin & crunchy and came with 3 different salsas, all very good. We ordered the roasted jalapeno rellenos appetizer (great), the pollo fundido (good, but the chicken was a little dry), the lamb barbacoa (very good), the plato burro with pork and fundido (great), and the chocolate tamale for desert (very good). The staff was friendly and efficient. We had a great time and we will definitely be back!

El Encanto is awesome! We tried it out when we first visited Arizona to see if we wanted to move here. After being seated for lunch, it wasnt very busy. We must have came right after the lunch crowd. We spoke with the manager of the restaurant as she was doing double duty as hostess. She sat us on their porch which I absolutely love. That porch is so nice when its comfortable outside. Anyway, she happened to be from where we were moving from. She talked with us for quite some time to give us some tips on the area and recognizes us every time we come in to the restaurant. Weve been there about eight times since we moved here and have never had a bad experience. Wait staff were excellent, food is incredible, and we absolutely love the atmosphere. You really cant go wrong with El Encanto.

I was looking for Mexican restaurant to go to in Fountain Hills. A very nice lady at the car wash said this is the restaurant to try. From the moment I entered the door I was greeted with friendliness. I had chips and salsa with in thirty seconds, three kinds of salsa that I literally could not decide which I liked better. My waitress, and bartender was Izzie. Who made me feel like she had invited me to here families home. And the food. The food was so good that when I took my first bite my eyes close because it tasted so good...I dont usually take the time to write reviews, but I had to tell people about this special restaurant. And Im not a family member or friend just a regular customer. ENJOY!! Angelo

We gave this restaurant three chances. Each time there was something that was a disappointment. The first time was near their grand opening. The wait was long and the service was spotty. Second time was with my mother and we felt rushed, as they were busy. Third time, my fish was undercooked and when it came back it was not plated the same- missing avacado garnish on top of fish and the veggies on the side were not the same- overabundance of onions, instead of the variety that came with the dish. My drink order was so late, we were finished with the meal. The manager took off $7 from the bill for the undercooked fish. Sorry, but really cant recommend El Encanto to anyone.

Outside look and inside decor is that of Spanish inspired colors and design. Inside smaller area but comfortable. Happened to have a guitarist there while eating, which was nice just a little loud so had to repeat myself or talk louder to have the people I was dining with hear me. Had the Pollo fundido, which was good but not great. Chicken tasted different from before, less flavor as if it was from a can instead of fresh. Service was good, server did keep the drinks full and continued to check in with us. For this area it was a pleasant dining experience.

By far probably the best restaurant house margarita Ive ever had. The flavor is awesome and packs a punch. They definitely dont skimp on cheap ingredients. The food is very good as well. Have tried several different menu items and have not been disappointed at all. Service is good and wait staff is very friendly. My only complaint is they should keep my tortilla basket refilled without asking especially if I order a chip related appetizer. I would recommend this place without any hesitation.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the Valley. The back porch atmosphere is very nice. I think they have just made this area larger by opening up the wall. A tranquil pool and gurgling fountains add to the scene. Now back to the food. I love the cheese enchiladas and order it every time I go. They are fantastic with just the right touch of onion. In addition the rice and beans are first class. Not standard Mexican fare by any means. I bring guests all the time and Im never disappointed.

I was presently surprised to find this place really good! They had many different plates, many with a "different" idea to them, but all in all it was very good. The food was priced good, $14 is getting near the top end, and they have whole wheat options, too. The meals fill you up, and I even took some home, while still tasting great. My burrito was so filled up, near litterly spilled out of it! I would go there!

I love the food but Ive had trouble with the same server every time. His name is Andy, he has brown, curly hair, glasses and a beard. His service is horrible. He took our order and we didnt see him again until he brought the check. In the meantime, neither my wife nor I had our water or drinks refilled. They have a lot of turnover in servers, but this guy is always there.

Pretty good place. The service was a bit slow in the beginning, but it was busy. The waiter made up about it by making sure everything was well done. The cocktails were weak preventing us from ordering any additional. The food was really good, the chips could use some salt but the selections of salsas were pretty good.

Took a company of about 7 here and we were all impressed. The decor was great and the food here was amazing. I have to say - Ive never had better Mexican-styled rice. We had a little bit of trouble getting out on time because there was a delay in ordering and getting checks BUT I will definitely be going back.

Waiter was great. Small selection of entrees. Fajitas were okay. Margarita was good. Wife said taco meat was flavorless. Was given three salsas; the hot tasted unfinished, the tomatillo was okay, the regular I dont think was salsa. Im pretty sure it was marinara sauce. Wont eat there again.

Curt (sp?) is an excellent server. We came in on a Sunday afternoon, he was just starting his shift. We got his full attention and enjoyed his spot on menu suggestions. Pollo Fundido and Seafood Enchiladas, very flavorful. Come for the food, stay for the service. You wont be disappointed.

Love this restaurant. The patio has a fireplace and an awesome second bar/taco kitchen. They play music on the weekends and the food is devine. Love their salsa trio and chips, pollo fundido, queso guillermo, enchiladas, but my absolute favorite is the lamb barbacoa and the fajitas.
