I didnt care for the place. The staff were nice and the atmosphere was good, and I liked the communal seating, but the food seemed pretty inauthentic and not that good. First they serve you these big bowls that are only half full. You would NEVER see that in an authentic Asian restaurant. It seemed very wrong. Second, all of the protein options are fried. I got chicken and tofu and my boyfriend got pork. It was pork belly that was battered and deep fried. Who does that?! Then the chicken being fried I can understand, but the tofu was soft, like a soup tofu that you might see floating loosely in the broth, but then battered and deep fried. You either put soft tofu in the soup, or you properly pan sear a firm tofu, or maybe dust it with starch and fry, but who batters tofu, especially soft tofu? Thats just weird. The noodles were packaged curly ones, like you would buy at a store, rather than being fresh, and the broth was quite bland. Their one redeeming menu item that we tried were these fried squid balls, that were an appetizer, which I thought were delicious, though our neighbor at the communal seating didnt like them, so they gave theirs to us. I still give two stars because ramen is supposed to be their thing, and they cant really pull it off. If I wanted packaged ramen, I could make it at home.

God bless O Ramen for being one, if not the first, ramen shops in Albuquerque. Widely popular (good luck trying to get a group in there during lunch) for a reason, the service sets the standard for excellence and courtesy in the area and the food comes in larger-than-life portions. I highly recommend the takoyaki (deep fried balls of octopus in batter) for something different, and they cater to the needs of the local University students well with ramen bowl portions that can be difficult to finish. Vegetarian, traditional pork-based broth, chicken broth, etc. are just a few of the options on their menu and pairing it with a few Japanese beers you cant find elsewhere really sets this place apart from other food choices in the area. Quirky, fun, and full of great people, O Ramen has never failed me in a great time or meal. If you have time, go behind their building and see the beautiful anime mural they have created as well.

The food here is great. I just went with my fiancé on a Saturday though, and it was unclear how the seating was working. There were open tables, and people gathered outside, but no one greeted us when we walked in. I flagged down a server to see if they seated us or if we seated ourselves, as there was no notice of either. The server pointed to a list towards the back of the restaurant and said there was a wait. We walked over to the list and I also couldnt tell if I was supposed to write my own name down or wait for someone to do it. There were 8 parties ahead of us on the list and no sign of 8 parties waiting around, with no names crossed off the list. I quickly grew tired of the confusion and poor service. We left and went to Naruto 2 doors down where we were greeted immediately. Again, O Ramen has great food, but dont even try to go if its busy.

staff are very friendly. place gets packed easily. also have the spiciest dish available in albuquerque when ordering any ramen as a 5. nowhere comes close to how spicy it is. before i was vegetarian i ordered the chicken ramen with pork broth, really crispy chicken and tasty broth. before i was vegan i ordered the tofu ramen. crispy fried tofu and they have the best egg noodles, (reg noodles). now that im vegan i just order vegan ramen (rice noodles, non breaded steamed tofu) and its somewhat satisfying but i would appreciate easier to eat noodles rather than the current rice. and i would like a tofu with texture rather than the steamed. maybe marinated in soy sauce and rice vinegar then baked would be good. if you like really spicy order it a 4. if you feel like catching your head on fire order a 5.

I decided one day to go and have something different after a good work out.... and thats when I found this place... I had to wait a bit to get in because I was a little early... but was the wait worth it... I was greeted by everyone as soon as I walked in. Very friendly all smiles and such even if I looked like a weirdo waiting outside... went in explained this was my first time and I was still new they were very helpful in helping me choose something to eat... I got the Chicken Ramen... and then they asked how Spicy I wanted it... from 1-5 I was unsure so I got a two... now Ive had Chile and other things all my life I wasnt expecting that though... a 2 had me almost sweating... I love this place and will always come back for the friendly people and food.. the price is worth the service and food!

First time in this place. Was seated right away but took 5 mins to even get our drinks then after that another 5 minutes to even get our order in. I had asked for the hot spice/oil on the side and didnt even receive it I had to ask twice and that took 10 mins to recieve it. The chashu pork was so gross and the gyoza we ordered Im pretty sure its pre-made frozen then fried. The Ramen itself was subpar I would rather eat store bought Ramen. My husband asked for extra noodles and we received our check way before the extra noodles. The quality and the price for this place is nothing compared to Naruto which is located next door. I will be eating at naruto from now on.

Very kind and skilled staff, they know what theyre doing and are quick to please. The food is divine, it tastes stupendous and makes you feel extremely cozy as if youre staying in the hospital country that is Japan. In case youre a Pokemon Go fan, the beautiful Hayao Miyazaki mural on the back of it is indeed a Gym! Although I am not old enough to drink, I know they have an alcohol menu that always changes; and has very intriguing Japanese imports for the daring and adventurous. Feeling like having a nice, trendy and tasty sit down with a friend or two after college? This is the place to go.

This is my favorite place to eat! I enjoy everything I try. The staff is friendly, service is quick, and it is always delicious. My favorite is the spicy miso ramen. I get the level 5 which is killer. I love extremely spicy but flavorful food and this is one of the few that fits the bill. Their ramen bowls are big enough my 3 can split one order! The takoyaki is a must as well! It is a wonderful blend of textures and flavors in one bite. Even my kids love them and it has octopus in it!! If you are in the area I defiantly recommend you try them!

Ive eaten here before and the food is great, but today we were missing only 1 person from our party and they did not seat us. We had been waiting with my name on the list for a table to open up, they gave every single table that opened up away to people who just walked in while we had been waiting for 30 min. We ate elsewhere. I thought it was incredibly rude to give away every table in the house, when we had already been waiting with our name on the list.
