My wife is Japanese and agrees that Edos offers the most authentic Japanese dining experience in Huntsville. The custom designed building and layout is a close approximation, which is difficult to obtain in the US so customers should really appreciate the owners efforts to offer the environment. The menu offers an excellent variety of Japanese food options. My only critique is the rice quality. Outside of Japan its hard to perfect Japanese food, due to the expense of high quality rice. I suggest that the owner offer, for a premium price to customers, meals served with a higher quality of rice. Most Americans dont recognize that difference so its not necessary for everyone. However, anyone who has lived in Japan recognizes the difference immediately. For our home cooking we eat the best available rice available in Huntsville and it makes a world of difference. I highly recommend dining at Edos for an authentic Japanese experience.

Went here for our anniversary and we were thr first people in the restaurant at 5. I ordered a combo box and my husband ordered the chef shashimi and 2 rolls. I got my food in the first 20 mins and finished it fully and his took an hour for raw chunks of fish. The waitress was scared to give us drink refills because my husbands food still hasnt come out and he was very patient about it even after hour of waiting. She was worried he would start to get upset. people got their sushi before us and I guess its because we are young people. My food was good but seeing him upset on our special night ruined it for me.

Fantastic authentic Japanese food with uniquely professional service. The tempura is fantastic and the sushi is extremely fresh and well prepared. Frequently there are sushi specials flown in from Japan including my personal favorite madai (sea brim). Ginger dressing, teriyaki and soups (among other things) are all made in house, fresh. Lunch includes especially affordable options. My company has a customer from Japan who when visiting us will only eat at Edo for every single meal!

To me, Edos is by far the best Japanese restaurant in North Alabama. I have tried Florence, Decatur, Huntsville, etc, and just cant get the taste like I do here. From the moment you walk in, the beautiful lady behind the register takes no time to greet you and make you feel at home. The service is outstanding, and the owner is just amazing. Even made reservations here for my after-wedding party for all my friends and family to share the beauty of this place!

Not impressed, decent place, ok food and one of the waitress was rude, another we had was very nice. I wanted to know if the chicken was cut up, and she didnt seem to understand my question, but her answer led me to think it was, she got upset when I received it and it was not cut up and I questioned. She snapped saying she told me it was. Food was kind of bland, and the teriyaki was only at the top of the rice bowl, basically it was all white rice.

I like the atmosphere of this restaurant....the structure offers lots of privacy between tables. The sashimi is of generous portion and its very fresh. Comparing against similar restaurants in Indiana, this place offers sushi and sashimi at very reasonable price; however, comparing against the ones in California there still appears to be more pricey...but what the heck. we are in the middle of Alabama and this place is 5 stars by American standard.

The absolute best sushi in Huntsville and possibly the state of Alabama. Their food is authentic, fresh, and never ceases to please and amaze. It is a bit difficult to get a picky eater to come here with you as if they have a sheltered pallet, they will almost always go with something closer to an Americanized version of what it really should be. However, I find that almost anyone can find something to eat here, even if they are a picky eater.

Very good food! The owner is actually Japanese! One time I went here and wasnt feeling well in general, ended up barely touching my food and the owner came over and socially henpecked me about not eating enough. I tried to explain but she never listened. She made a huge scene and embarrassed me. The food was pretty good though. Still, Im partial to Fulins on 72.

Generally speedy service, great prices, quality ingredients and well constructed sushi. Great appetizer selection, plenty of room for large groups, full bar and great selection of drinks. Ive eaten here for years and I can never complain except for the occasional slow service which is quite rare and generally because I went at the busiest time of day.

The food was good when it finally came. The sushi I ordered and thought would come out first was so late the waitress tried to give it to me in a to go box. I was late getting back to lunch waiting for a bowl of rice and chicken. As long as it took they should have given the sushi to me for free. This was my first experience here. :(

Love the food, love the environment, absolutely love the customer service. The sushi is as fresh as it can be. The sushi chef is very knowledgeable, the menu is endless, and they are usually pretty quick. The people are always polite and friendly. Havent met a single rude person, yet. Its my wifes favorite restaurant.

If you dont know where Edo is, you probably wont be able to find it. Its hidden behind multiple restaurants with no signs out front. Food is pretty traditional and the sushi is pretty good. Good spot for a lunch date or a business meeting. 4 stars for excelling in quality of food and cleanliness of environment.

Having never been to Japan, I dont know if its authentic or not. But Edo really feels like an authentic Japanese experience. From the fountain outside to the privacy partitions, Edo makes me feel like Im in Japan. Authentic dishes and great sushi make this one of my top destinations in Madison County dining.

The entrance is a little cramped, but once you get a table or booth you have plenty of room. The server was very attentive to our drinks and needs. We got sushi that is always amazing. It is our favorite place to go for sushi because the rolls are a decent size, delicious and very reasonably priced.

If youre looking for a place to be professionally ignored and cheated, by all means, stop on by. Multiple times had the people up front try to charge me extra "on accident". Have fun standing in the doorway for 5 minutes attempting to get someone to even look at you.

I sat at the sushi bar. Carlos was great! The sushi was good but my pot stickers were very greasy and too crunchy. My server was a little curt and unfriendly. She was also ignorant of some menu items. I would go back for sure but would hope for a different server.

I have eaten here countless times for over fifteen years, and have always had a pleasant experience. Their daily lunch box is really convenient for a fast lunch. The tatami room is great for birthday parties, but make sure you reserve it a few weeks in advance.

First visit, ordered a sushi roll, recommended by the man behind the sushi bar – I had to search for the shrimp!! Loaded with cucumbers and some avocados. If I wanted a vegetable sushi roll I would have ordered one :-( What a disappointing lunch.
