If youre originally from Dothan and never lived outside the town, dont bother reading this. You wont understand. We just had an absolutely horrendous experience at this restaurant for my wifes birthday. It started with a bartender who couldnt understand simple English when I asked for a second drink. Everyone else in my party got a second drink but the person paying the tab did not. I did penalize her appropriately on her tip for this. Next, although we specifically requested a certain waitress with whom we have had excellent experience in the past, we were given a different waitress when we sat down at the table. But having waited exceedingly long time, we decided not to press the issue. We ordered appetizers, dinner, and wine. The stuffed mushrooms were okay. The spinach dip arrived cold or at best tepid. The grated Parmesan on top didnt even make an attempt to melt. And I never could figure out what was with the weird orange base color. One would normally expect spinach and artichoke dip to be green. After one bite, I sent it back to the kitchen with a request that it not be brought back ever again. It was truly disgusting. Right on top of the appetizers being put on the table, our salads arrived. Outstanding. Give us all our pre-meal it once and then let us wait another 40 minutes for our entree. Outstanding. The salad was okay. The vinaigrette absolutely lacked any imagination whatsoever. During the very long wait for our entree, I decided to go to the restroom and wish I had brought a gas mask. The stench from the urinal was absolutely overwhelming. My wife reported that the womens room had a shortage of toilet paper and she had to ask a lady in the next stall to help her out. Very classy. Our veal marsala arrived at the table. First, there have been some menu change at some point which removed anything from the menu as side dishes which might actually go with veal marsala. In the past, they had a very nice rice pilaf, but now they only had sauteed spinach, onion straws, sweet potato tots?, battered fries, Etc. Hoping for the best, we had ordered the sauteed spinach. Im wondering if it ever occurred to the chef that he could actually add something besides griddle fry to the spinach to sautee it. For example, when I saute spinach at home, I add minced garlic, Herbes de Provence, and a touch of balsamic vinegar. What we got was mushy, tasteless, green goo. As far as the veal, the portion had greatly shrunk in the last 5 months, had enough gristle to be mistaken for bear, and had about as much taste as a Gerbers starter meal. Truly shameful. I would also point out that we also ordered a bottle of wine with our meal. It arrived uncorked and then recorked. Its good to feel absolutely certain that the $40 I spent on a bottle of wine was absolutely not adulterated in any way. Im used to having my bottles of wine uncorked at the table. But then again, this is Dothan, Alabama. Most people in this town dont know better and put up with this garbage. In short, this is a meal wed rather forget. And we are definitely scratching off this restaurant from a list of restaurants we used to frequent quite a bit. I dont know if they lost their chef recently, got new management, or just decided to stop giving a crap about the customer, but Im out. P.s. I would have added a picture of my meal, but my phones automatic pornography filter stopped me from saving it.

My wife and I ate here two years ago and loved it. While her parents were in town yesterday we took them there for dinner with our two little ones. The atmosphere was great, but the service was horrible. The restaurant was not super busy. I should note that our waiter was training a new waitress. We received our drinks and waited for 20 minutes before having to get up to find our waiter to take our order. My wifes soup was dropped off with no spoon. We had to go find someone to get one and when they brought it out, it was dirty. The house salad was amazing, but we had to bust our own salad and appetizer dishes to make room for our pizzas. The pizzas were dropped off by our waiter and he passed by our table twice with all of the dirty dishes on it. I ended up taking the dirty dishes away. When the pizza arrived it was obvious that it had been sitting for a while, as the cheese was hardened and the pizza was barely warm. This may have been a good thing since the waiter put the pizza down right in front of my two year old son. The waiter came by and asked how the pizza was. We told him it seemed to be sitting out and wasnt hot at all. He then commenced to giving us a class on how the oven is 600 degrees and we were obviously mistaken about how hot or fresh the pizza was. He was extremely rude and combative. I feel bad for the new waitress who probably needs to be trained by someone who knows something about customer service. We were very excited about taking our family there, but after this horrible experience will not be back.

Just a fantastic stop on a road trip down to Center Stages Bingo Pavilion. Saw some good reviews and decided to give it a shot, and let me tell you, we were so happy we made that decision. We were greeted by friendly faces and the lovely young woman that served us was a true "southern belle." We ordered the Caesar salad bowl, which was huge, plenty for three hungry guys. The 12 inch pies were a decent size but thin crusted so we ordered a couple to share. The one my friend chose was phenomenal, the new school pepperoni we think it was calls. Just a perfect amount of pepperoni with a dollop of sauce and some farm fresh tomatoes slices that Im sure were picked right down the street. The pizza I suggested, the Balboa something, was a bit too, but more of a dribbler up the middle type of hit. It had a unique flavor - a garlic spread with caramelized onions and melted pepper jack cheese - but we all agreed we probably wouldnt order it again, ya know, the next time we drive through Dothan and actually want to stop over for a meal. All in all an efficient stop, good food, friendly service and a blonde milf sitting across from us that had the legs of a 19 year old tennis player. I only deducted a star because the side plates they gave us with our salad were the size of my two year old nephews plastic plate.

Im giving this 2 stars only because the waiter was good. Was Firestone just having a bad day I keep asking myself ( considering all the good reviews it has gotten), however I cant give it that benefit of the doubt. I had the short ribs and risotto. I have never tasted short ribs that tasted like beef and gravy from a can (didnt even RESEMBLE short ribs), and the risotto tasted burnt. When asked by the waiter how everything was, I couldnt help myself this time (I never bother complaining, just dont return), I told him about the risotto, thinking chef may have not been aware. He right away took it away, apologizing, saying he will ask the chef to make more. 5 minutes later he returned with more, (lol, risotto takes much longer than that to make), I knew it was the same, and it was. Threw the leftovers away when I got home, dont know why I bothered having the meal wrapped up. Pretentious place, with ridiculous results. Coming from Chicago, I didnt expect the same level, but this? Lol, SMH.
