Tortilla chips tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. Salsa and Queso dip both were pretty bland. Carne Asada was a complete JOKE. The steak was so thin it could have been used as a tortilla by itself. We are guessing it is the same steak that is normally used for Philly Cheese Steak? No seasoning at all, and way over cooked. It was more like leather than meat. Shrimp Chimichanga was fixed with some kind of sweet barbecue like sauce instead of traditional Mexican flavorings. Guacamole scared us enough that we didnt try it. It looked a lot like there was OLD guacamole mixed in with the fresh. On the plus side. The Mixed Vegetables with the Carne Asada were decent if a little under cooked. The Refried beans were decent. Service was speedy although the waiter didnt stick around for us to ask about anything. All in all WAY overpriced for the quality of food. The price of food compares with AGAVE in Fairhope, but the quality is worse than Taco Bell. We wont be going back.

i cannot describe the distaste i now have for this place. our waiter looked stoned and mumbled when he took our orders. we got our drinks and then waited for an hour for some fajitas and an enchilada. the large party next to us got their food shortly after they sat down about 30 min after we got there. i asked for my check as soon as the food came and that took him about another 30 minutes. he didnt even come to run the checks we had to get up and take them to another waiter because he couldnt be bothered. i will happily drive to another Mexican place before going anywhere near this one. i understand a bad waiter but obviously the manager didnt care. and when i did finally get to eat the food... i literally had to throw it away it was that bad, and my friend refused to eat her cold enchilada. STAY AWAY! go to Don Carlos, may be the same owners but at least you wont get stuck with a ridiculous wait staff.

Not really authentic. No lengua, no menudo, no tacos al pastor, no little old lady in the back making mole in a big pot by hand. Just standardized American Mexican stuff. Tacos and burritos and enchiladas, oh my. Not that theres anything wrong with that. The menu is basically identical to the one at Don Carlos in Malbis, but the food here is … a little different. Not better or worse, just different. This restaurant is in such a weird cramped location that my friends often just prefer Don Carlos because its bigger, easier to get in and out of and closer to home.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE!!! THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!! My 15 year old daughter & some friends went there on 05/05/17 & never got served after 2 hours. My daughter had enough sense to ask for the manager & the waitress never brought him/her over. Then the waitress got another waitress to come over to the table as an interpreter like she could not understand english very well. If so, why is she even serving. TERRIBLE SERVICE!! There are too many good Mexican restaurants on the eastern shore to waste your time at this place. POOR, POOR, POOR!!!!!

Sadly we will never eat here again. Our server brought us a high chair for a 16 month old that we could not fasten her into. The straps were broken. While we were waiting on our order a ROACH crawled across our table. I jumped out of the booth loudly because I was in shock. The staff just looked at me and did nothing. I told them to cancel our order and they said nothing to me. I assume they did not want to draw attention that a roach had crawled across the table.

One of, it not the absolute BEST Mexican restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. I have been to many all over the country as it is one of my go to favorites. I have been going to El Rancho regularly since i first moved here a year ago and I have never had anything less than incredible. Ive had the deserts a couple of times and they were nothing short of a whole nother level of excellence! Beyond what I thought was even possible!

Giving this restaurant one star is being generous. To begin with, I was told that I could not order off the kids menu because I am over 10. After telling my waiter I would just go somewhere else, the policy suddenly changed. In hindsight, I wish I had gone somewhere else because the food was awful. Horrible food and horrible staff.

Had the rudest waiter Ive ever experienced. Never seen anything like it. Im fairly well traveled, polite, been to Paris several times and many other countries, including Mexico and countries in Central America . The food is merely okay. The restaurant is in a convenient location. Been there a few times, definitely the last.

We ate there a couple of years ago and my son has not stopped talking about this place. We have many Mexican restaurants here where we live and feel we can give a good opinion. The food was excellent and the service was great. We hope to return this year to see if it will live up to our memory :).

GREAT Food but the service was above and beyond anything Ive ever experienced. Our server was friendly, attentive and super helpful. Even when I realized days later Id left my wallet behind, they were nice enough to send it to me intact since I live 4 hours away! THANKS MARTHA and STAFF!

The food is not good here. For some reason they put handfuls of shredded lettuce on everything and the salsa obviously came out of a jar. But they have good margaritas and the best atmosphere of any of the "Mexican" joints on the Eastern shore.

The food was amazing!!!! I moved here 4 years ago and have not found a Mexican restaurant that was satisfying, until this one. The staff was great, the food was like I said AMAZING. definitely my new favorite place to eat.

Food is great! Very typical of a Mexican restraunt. The booths are long, for 3 or 4 people per side, but they are very close to the table. Little tight if your husky. The tables are fine though :)

BF took me out for my birthday, it was amazing!!! Good food and lots of it!!!! Take home bags are must here!!! With I had a picture to show you... Ill be going back, so Ill take one on that visit.

If you find yourself in their parking lot, get back in your car and leave as fast as you can. Terrible food and over priced. I imagine taco bell across the street has better food.

Never give me an accurate wait time when I order to go. I end up having to stand inside for 10 more minutes waiting. The food and staff is pretty mediocre.

I have to say it is the best Mexican restaurant along Dafne FL. By the way all staff are really kind. Meals are excellent tasty. Ill recommend this place.
