Ok, listen up. This place probably has the greatest lunch deal you will ever find at a Japanese restaurant in Manhattan. Im telling you now, this review is ONLY FOR LUNCH. Everything is WAY too expensive on their menu for how it tastes, BUT if you go there for lunch, they have this awesome lunch special for less than $13 that includes a delicious variety of shrimp tempura, miso soup, steamed egg, sashimi bowl, and soba noodles. Its absolutely delicious and totally worth it; Ive yet to find another place that does it like they do. Service is ok, not the greatest but not terrible either. Price for quality and quantity of food is totally worth it with the lunch special. Anything else on their menu is kinda out of bounds unless youve got money to spend. Would totally come here if I ever was in the area again for lunch!

What a lovely find on the UES! This small Japanese restaurant has awesome lunch deals. For about $14, you can sample up to five items on the menu - including the soba noodles, tempura, and sashimi. Although my friend opted for this sampler, I enjoyed a large bowl of soba noodles and a side of pickled vegetables. The noodles were nutty, the broth was light and not too salty, and the togarashi spice was spot on. The pickled vegetables were a great cool and crisp contrast to the warm noodles. I cant wait to go back and try everything else!

The lunch special at $10 dollars is a steal. Ive only had the lunch special here so I cant really comment on anything. else. All I can really say about the food is that it tasted good. Not the mind-bending experience sushi can be, but you get what you pay for. The ambience is Japanese modern and its really quite clean. The waitress was extremely helpful and always refilled my tea when my cup was barely half empty.

They have very good sushi. We went there after the lunch hours and as other people have mentioned, it is not that cheap. Two regular rolls and an appetizer is ~23$ after tax and tip (which is reasonable in my opinion). The appetizer was some kind of broiled eggplant, looked beautiful, I didnt like the taste though. The staff were friendly and the place looked nice. Will try it sometime during lunch hours later.

This is a lunch review; Ive yet to go for dinner. But, run, dont walk and stand in line for the lunch menu. Doors open promptly at noon and the set lunches, all under $15, are just wonderful and well worth waiting in line. Wonderful service, fantastic food. Eventually, Ill make it there for dinner, but a lunch this good, at this price, keeps me a return customer during daylight hours!

Today I had the worst customer service at Wajima during my 5-year-life in Manhattan. A waitress was extremely rude. I asked her to replace steam towel because it was not warm. But, from that point, she was very angry, and when I asked about take out she yelled me without detail explanation. She totally spoiled our b-day party.

One of the best lunch spots in Midtown East! They have a fantastic lunch special that has a little bit of everything (a little bit of sushi, chawanmushi, delicious tempura, miso soup and cold soba noodle). Try their sushi as well. There is no mayo drenched special rolls but their uni sushi is particularly wonderful.

The quality is OK. Its average by Japanese standard. The service is average as well. But the volume is not there for the price. Im giving 4 stars because it seems to be closer to authentic Japanese.

Wajima is a great lunch deal in the area if you like high quality Japanese that doesnt break the bank. There might be a wait during busier days but that only speaks to the value. A real treat.

This place remind me of one of the first Japanese restaurant I ate in in New York. It has a very old-school feel. Im a very reasonable lunch special. Be prepared to wait or table at lunch time.

Everything: the quality of food, the incredible deal on their superb lunch, the service, the little bar in front. Oh and of course one of the best chawanmushi Ive ever had

Set lunches at $12.50? Cant be beat. Get there early though as they open at 12pm sharp and the queue builds outside even prior to opening.

I ate the sukiyaki and I loved it, though it seemed like I would enjoy the tempura better. The place is fancy and authentic.
