Upon arrival my initial impression was that this place is tiny but the decor is fabulous. After finding our way through the velvet curtain "front door" we stood on display feeling awkward for about a minute or two wondering if a hostess would greet us and when no one did my boyfriend finally walked to the bar to see if we could be seated. He mentioned that we had a reservation (which I made 1 week in advance) and the bartender asked if we had a Living Social voucher (which we did). She then pointed at the only open table in the house rather than escorting us to our table. The table was literally right by "door" in the brightly lit front of the restaurant near the window overlooking a construction fence. So I opted to sit at the bar and wait for a better table. After a few minutes I noticed that another couple with a reservation came in and they were sat at the table that we declined. Had we taken that table, this couple would have been forced to sit at the bar because no other table opened up for quite some time so we ate our entire meal at the bar, despite having a reservation. Upon sitting we were handed a very limited "Living Social" menu which was not mentioned on the voucher or when purchasing the voucher. The voucher was for 3 tapas, 1 desert, and a bottle of wine. We ordered the 2008 Shiraz yet were served a 2011 Shiraz. The year of a wine makes a difference and for red wine usually the older it is, the better. Perhaps they ran out of the 2008 but I was appalled that a place wanting to be known most for wine, would substitute a red wine that is 3 years newer without asking if we wanted to chose something else instead. We were then informed that they were out of 1 of the 5 tapas offered on the limited menu. So we now have to chose 3 of the 4. Id expect them to allow a substitute here as well, but we were offered nothing of the sort. We ordered the meatballs and the caprese focaccia, both of which were incredibly bland. Our third tapas was the mac & cheese which was delicious. In addition to our living social deal we ordered the arugula pear salad which they completely forgot to bring us and after having to inquire about it, it was a nice concept but there was something off. Perhaps the vinaigrette was too acidic and needed more sweet elements to balance it out? Lastly before desert we ordered a spread of 3 cheeses and when that arrived no one bothered to tell us which cheese was what. Throughout our dinner the bartender discussed gratuities left by other guests and reprimanded other servers all right in front of us. At this point we had been here so long that we asked for a box to take the cheese plate home and they brought us a dirty box. Then after getting and paying the check our desert finally arrived, which we also took home.

Service-oriented. I planned a group happy hour this summer for 9 semi-thirsty folks. My friends and I were all in agreement about how cute and tasteful the decor was. Mis-shaped empty picture frames lined one of the back walls(Im tempted to sneak a selfie pic into one of these frames just to see if anyone would notice). Cute chandeliers were presented in different corners of the space, and as previous reviewers have mentioned, thrones meant for kings and queens were strategically placed. Its on the edge of the East side; you wont find a loud or noisy atmosphere with a line out the door. However, it is more appropriate for small groups and dates. It is not a cheap place; the happy hour lasts until 7pm and its $7 for a glass of red, white, or rose. Those are your options- no more, no less. Each of us ordered 1-3 dishes to share or to hog. I love cheese so a bunch of us ordered the 5 cheese selection(#s 1, 3, 6, 9, & forgot the last one). The truffles embedded into one of the cheeses were divine, and the Tête de Moine was an interesting eat served as shavings. The other plates are on the tiny side; my friends bf described the burgers as being bite-sized. The shrimp salad was pretty decent; the vegetables were the standout. I didnt think the wings were anything to be excited about. You can find comparable wings at Applebees. With a drink or two in your system, youll need about 3-5 dishes to feel full. Like I said, not a cheap place, and quite difficult to split a bill if everyone hasnt ordered approximately the same amount. Keep it small. The service is pretty top-notch. My group and I stayed from 6:30 until close to 11pm. I had friends arriving at various times due to everyones ridiculous work schedules. Not once were we rushed to leave, and this is where other restaurants need to take notes: they maintained their attentiveness to our tables needs. We didnt order an extravagant amount of food, but we were still treated as well as all the other patrons. Did I mention their great smiles? Thats pretty dope in my book.

Having lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years, this particular block has always been a dead zone...until now. This small cozy wine bar is really a welcome addition. My husband and i went in on a friday night, felt welcome immediately, were able to take our time while perusing both the wine list and the board, and were ultimately very happy with our decisions. There are also some lovely cheese plates to choose from, or you can put together your own from a very nice selection, which we chose to do. Prices vary, are not unreasonable, but there were a few wines that i would choose to purchase the bottle instead of by the glass. All in all it was a very pleasant and relaxing experience.

Wanting to keep the momentum going after a champagne tasting, I used the Yelp app on my mobile phone to locate a nearby wine bar. The app did not steer me wrong. Uncorkeds positive Yelp reviews are justly deserved. The staff is definitely friendly, the ambiance cozy and intimate. When filled to capacity, there isnt too much space for maneuvering. Plot out your movements and contract those abs when navigating to the restroom. My only negative comment? The sangria was terrible. But! the bartender noticed my companions slight grimace of distaste, apologized, and offered to replace the drink with something more palatable. Aside from that snafu, the rest was smooth sailing.

I would actually give this place a four star - nice environment, friendly staff, decent wine selection, but I cant because I cant seem to find out what their letter grade is. I tried to find a letter grade posted when I went to Uncorked, but couldnt I have looked on the New York Dept. of Health website and have tried my hardest to find out, but I cannot even seem to locate this restaurant. So frankly that just turned me off. However, if anyone at Uncorked could let me know? Maybe you are listed under a different name?

Wait staff was lovely, wine selection was expansive yet to the point. Our waitress was very accommodating and recommended a great Napa Valley Cabernet to compliment the ribeye I ordered (which was absolutely amazing and at $28 for 12 oz. I have to recommend). My girlfriend got the Italian meatball and that thing was the size of a baseball! Tasted amazing too! Ill be back for Sangria night next Tuesday for sure!
