I live in the area so Ive tried giving this place a couple of chances. The food is not as great as I read in other reviews but I guess of course thats a matter of preference. The pancakes taste really cheaply home made and I did not enjoy them the couple of times I tried them. Last time I went my French toast were BURNT! And I didnt even ask to get new ones, I simply told the older waiter in a very polite manner to let the cook know about it and that next time I can hopefully get them without being in such burnt conditions. The waiter was very aggressive (kind of like an old man stuck in his ways) justifying it and saying that there is no other way to make them because the stove theyre made on is on a set temperature and that otherwise theyve be uncooked on the inside.. I couldnt believe that he was trying to tell me that theyre always going to serve them burnt because thats the only way they can make them cooked. Also, I went with my 6 month old teethless baby who also happens to have a GI condition and can only eat purées. The man opened up a pack of very hard cracker like thin toast and put it in my sons hand. After that I tried removing the cracker but the baby didnt want to let go and would start crying and screaming hysterically so that was the end of my peace at the diner. I couldnt take my eyes off my son not even for a second cause I feared that he would choke on the cracker. I understand he had good intentions but he should have listened to me when I said No thank you! And Im not sure why he though it was ok to touch anything that would go into my sons mouth with his hands. Really wish this diner was better :(

Bad food, bad service, and I wish I could give this place less then one star. I came across this diner while walking around the area. It was a terrible experience and the food was disgusting and cold. We ordered mozzarella sticks they were cold and was just a solid block of cheese inside a tasteless fry, a pasta dish that was also bland, and a piece of apple pie that was actually still frozen. We decided not to eat any of the food and talk to the manager. We told him the issue and he made us pay for all the food. We paid and left all our food there. I will never go back to this horrible place.

Virginia staffs the whole place herself- waitress, server, cook. BEST bacon egg and cheese on an english that i havent made myself, fantastic grilled muffins. omelets are light as air and filled with creative fresh ingredients. Totally down home place. Has lots of cool stuff to look at, trivial pursuit cards, many pairs of glasses for those with tired eyes, fun salt and pepper shakers. oh- and the best prices of any diner ive been to. took my mother for a holiday- $14 for the two of us, including tip.

I order out from the Manchester Diner all the time. Typically Ill get their chicken souvlaki, which is an amazing deal as it includes the delicious chicken, pita, tzatziki sauce, a salad, and fries. Its better than many of the places in the neighborhood that actually specialize in Mediterranean food. Deliver is great. They always arrive quickly and with the food securely packaged and still hot!

Disgusting on a couple of fronts. The order took an hour and twenty minutes to arrive. I called to check after 45 minutes and was given a lie, saying that it would arrive in ten minutes. I called back half an hour later and the guy said, "I told you already, it is on its way. Five minutes." When the food arrived it was cold and disgusting. There are better options in this neighborhood.

First off I ordered my food for delivery at about 9:00am only to have my food delivered at 10:45 after they stated that it would only take 30 min, when it arrived it was not what I ordered, on top of that it was cold, (not warm, I mean COLD) and the food was not so tasty even after having to be warmed up... Very displeased, and this isnt the only time. Save yourself the headache.

This place was surprisingly good. I came here because it was 11pm, and not many other places were open. I didnt expect much, and it turned out amazing. Like Id go here again in the day time it was so good. The guys working there are also pretty nice. Funny guys. I dont know why it has so many dollar bills for price. I got a cheeseburger and cheesecake for like $12.

The food is good...the cashier however. ....ugh....she likes to smoke...the second time she stepped out for a cigarette. ..its right in front of the diner! Then she took one more pull and slowly released the smoke inside the diner!!!!! Nasty. Im highly disappointed. .I used to love coming here before the renovation. ..now if only they renovate the cashier.

Staff is way too aggressive. One time the server actually wrote in the tip after I received my card back (wouldve tipped more, but that was super inappropriate) and then when I argued against it he said "well welcome to new York". D***. Head. Never coming back here ever. Food was good, service was AWFUL.

Small neighborhood diner with very friendly attentive staff. We went for an early dinner on NYE so the place was pretty empty when we arrived but it filled up quickly. I would probably not attempt a weekend breakfast here simply due to its size but otherwise no complaints.

Hands down my favourite diner in NYC. The food is absolutely amazing, the staff is friendly and really makes you feel welcomed. The prices are absolutely middle of the road for diner fare, but worth every penny. I hope they never close, because Ill cry.

The seating is ample and the service is quick. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and coffee. The sandwich included a small portion of coleslaw and half a pickle. Coffee was strong but the sand wich was a little weak. Overall experience was okay.

Great little UWS diner. Prices are regular diner prices ($9 for a deluxe burger), more for steaks, etc. Food was good, portions were huge. We came here on Thanksgiving day and it wasnt too busy. If you want diner food, look no further than here.

Nice, clean diner. Service was quick though servers were slightly gruff. Food was good given what you pay and there were a lot of options. Not the best diner on the UWS but far from the worst (ahem Big Daddys, Im looking at you).
