DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. PLEASE SEE STORY BELOW. The cashier person attending to me seemed uninterested in assisting me. I asked her is she was ok and she became confrontational. I tried to explain that she seemed uninterested in taking my order. After about 2 minutes, she went to the back and grabbed what I assumed was a supervisor(not upon my request). My complaint now isnt with the cashier, rather how the supervisor handled the situation. I never wanted to complain about the service to begin with but after experiencing how the supervisor handled the situation I will complain. The supervisor, a young lady with dark hair whos name I didnt get, allowed the employee to stand approximately 10 feet from me. I informed the supervisor that the employee was standing there looking directly at me while laughing with other employees about the situation that occurred between us. At one point she was allow to stand there with 2 employees, looking and laughing at me. After paying for my food, I felt uncomfortable. These couldve been the employees handling my food in the back. I asked the supervisor for my money back which she complied. I have been going to this particular establishment on many occasions since it opened a couple of months ago. I unfortunately will not be visiting this or any other locations ever again. I dont want any type of compensation or apologies of any kind. I only ask that you do a better job at making sure your supervisory staff is trained to handle altercations more efficiently. Wish your establishment further success.

How was the ordering experience? BEWARE THE SHAKE SHACK LINE! As usual with my cheap eats, I got in line BEFORE noon. By the time I had my burger, it was just after 12pm and the line was starting to grow. Luckily, with a little planning ahead (and a hungry stomach), I was able to get my ShackBurger quickly. If you are just getting a shake or ice cream, be sure to hop into the “C-Line” (Cold Line). You will face a much shorter wait. How delicious was the food? Wow. If you go here, I strongly recommend you go with the straightforward ShackBurger. I finally got it. I finally understood why Shake Shack is so popular. The edges of the burger were just a little crispy and had such good, seasoned flavor. The sauce was better than I remembered and the bun was so soft and good. The single patty burger definitely has the right ratio of meat to toppings to bun. Did it fill me up for $5 or less? I was full, but I just had the burger. There were no sides involved, so if you are really hungry, this might not do the trick. In terms of cost. A regular ShackBurger is $4.95. But wait – Shake Shack DOES charge tax, so this one was barely over $5 in the end :-( – still a pretty decent price for the quality! Conclusion: Shake Shack is worth it. If you are visiting, you have to try it. If you live here, you have to love it. Just be sure to be smart and avoid the lines during the lunch rush!

Shake Shack downtown has to expect that lunchtime is going to be the craziest period of the day. This isnt a new store and yet lines at this time can be long and wait times for food verging on the ridiculous. That aside, the burger and hot dog selection is great and the shakes a delight, albeit something you know is bad for you. Service is from behind the counter where you place your order, give your name and wait for it to be called. Seating is at small tables inside and out with a few tall benches and stools and booths in the window. It can be a challenge to get a seat and there are often people holding their trays watching intently for any sign of movement in the booth area. Décor is modern, as befits the newly developed Battery Park City area and there are TVs dotted around the place in case you find your lunch partner boring. So, choose your time carefully and be watchful for that table to come free and youll have a great lunch.

My dearest Shake Shack. It is my top priority to visit you whenever I make it to the city. You are the only "Popular with millennials on Instagram" thing Ive ever been dragged to that lived up to the hype. Your mushroom burger is dripping with all the right juices in the best way possible. Your concrete ice creams make a grown man weep. You have a Brooklyn Brewery beer that is exclusive in two ways: You are the only ones that have it and its exclusively the only good beer Brooklyn Brewery has ever made. Ive been to a couple different Shake Shacks and the quality is consistent. Its my absolute favorite of the trendy or beloved burger joints and blows In n Out and Five Guys out of the water. Even Smashburger is a distant second. Its also relatively affordable considering how much they could get away with charging. Overall, one of the highlights of visiting NYC and should be on every tourists list!

Shake shack was OK. Nothing to write home about. Im told it really became popular because it was in Madison Square park, and its a cute outdoor place to eat. Thazzit. I dont know why anybody says it tastes better than IN n Out, cause honestly it tastes like ... THE SAME. No joke. It tastes . THE SAME. So maybe you have a thicker patty, but you also cost more, like 2x more. And its definitely not as good or as filling as a restaurant style burger. So like id either want in n out or a restaurant style burger. I would eat five guys over shake shack anyday. Because at least five guys is juicy and greasy! Maybe i need to get the shroom burger, but my BMI is about to tip over into the overweight zone and i crumble at putting extras in my already unhealthy food. I DO However. Like their custard. That I would come back for. Wait in line though? No thanks!

As a tourist, Id been told many times to try to fit in Shake Shack, and so when we found ourselves near this location, we gave it a shot. I dont think it lived up to the hype. The food was ok, but failed to be anything special at all. We tried a variety of items from the menu, including two hotdogs, two burgers, the mushroom burger, fries, and some shakes. The shakes were fine, the fries were pretty good. The hotdogs were utterly pedestrian - they could have been gotten cheaper and probably better at the hot dog stand down the street. The hamburgers were ok, but again, what separates them from any other burger joint. In short, it just wasnt worth word of mouth excitement Id heard.

After a long time of hearing the hype surrounding Shake Shack but never trying it myself, I finally got around to giving it a shot, and thankfully at this location I didnt have to experience long lines and long wait times. I have tried the chocolate and vanilla milkshakes separately, but I only found the vanilla to be above average. The chocolate one was just okay to me. Their classic burger was a good simple burger, and I also mixed it up on a separate occasion with a smokeshack double which was very tasty and made better by good bacon. All in all, my experience wasnt a revelation by any means, but the food was food. I can see it as something I may get every few months.
