If I could give it ZERO stars I would. The Café Metro located on 839 7th Ave, New York is the absolute worst. Its bad enough that the lines are so unorganized but then you have the staff who are absolutely nasty. Kenia in particular. I will never go back there because of how uncomfortable shes made me feel by being snotty and laughing with her employees and looking at me. Ive witnessed in the past employees arguing amongst one another IN PUBLIC with customers around and on another occasion, I witnessed an employee argue with a bystander that got in their way on the street. Great way to represent your company! Thats customer service for someone who has been going there for years?! This wasnt the first time but I finally had enough. I called the manager on duty who at first refused to give me his name and finally did. He said it was Gene but that could be false because he mumbled it. He gave me an attitude, which explains why his staff would have one. This location has ZERO customer value or customer service. I wouldnt waste your time going there - unless you want to be mistreated, then knock yourself out.

Decent service but absolutely terrible food. I ordered the two egg breakfast platter that came with homefries, turkey bacon, and toast. Where do I begin? So the eggs were tasteless, the homefries were weird-looking, orange (not sweet potatoes, they were regular potatoes) lumps of terror and the taste was non-existent. The turkey bacon was dry and the toast was burnt. To top it all off, the plastic plate that they placed the highly disappointing food in broke because the food was too hot, which obviously made it leak. And I almost swallowed a piece of the broken plastic plate. I totally wasted my money.

Ive worked in the same building as Cafe Metro for 7 years. In my opinion they have always been a tad over priced compared to other establishments in the area. Also, It disappointing to see the prices increasing while their take out trays are somehow getting cheaper and SMALLER. What you used to get for around $8 (a burrito bowl for instance) comes in a smaller portioned, cheaper container. This company is not hurting, they are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. Shop around, its NYC. Walking a half a block further can get you far more value.

The place is humble. The wood stove attracted my attention. I love it when food is prepared in it. The variety for vegetarians or vegans are limited but extra super tasty. Some organic choices too. The hygiene in this place is TOP. Clean people clean food and clean customers lol. Did I mention that the clothes of workers are very clean too. Super nice workers, super friendly. In short words, warm food made by warm people. We are visitors from Saudi Arabia. Thanks for the warm welcome smiling faces. Love you

Terrible pricing. Cheap at night and expensive in the morning, according to the boss in charge. I ordered two medium coffees and it came out to be 14 dollars! The price is 4.50 for a medium coffee. With or without taxes, how the hell does it get to 14 dollars?!?!? I didnt have time to argue but I suggest you bring up this the next time yall visit metro! Especially this specific one. They make random pricing on the spot just for their gains. Terrible terrible service and Im a loyal customer!

Ordered at 8:55, delivered wrong order at 9:30- when called was given a very rude attitude and constantly put on hold- then got wrong order again at 10AM- its 10:20 and Im still waiting on my food which makes it over an hour, I have been a customer of theirs for a long time cause you can get good healthy foods there- but the attitude you get from some of their employees and service Ive experienced one too many times

I had pene a la vodka with grilled chicken, sweet peas and cheese. The cheese was sour and the peas were not cooked, just plain raw and hard. I also purchased a slice of velvet cake and to my surprise there was mold and fungus in the layers of icing and forming on the bottom of the cake. The exterior of the cake was fine but the inside was rotten. I am 7 months pregnant and was about to be poisoned!!!!

At approx. $8-10/meal, this isnt the cheapest establishment, but price was reasonable for great selection and fresh ingredients. Good service. My pasta (alfredo linguine with meatballs and mushrooms) was delicious, and the boys liked their pizza options. Cakes were delicious, but Tiramisu left something to be desired, a little more espresso and less whipped cream perhaps.

This is a good spot to get all of the usual things you get at a school cafeteria. The service is quick, the place is clean and the food is food. What else can you say about a place whose only purpose is to put something in your stomach so you can keep working your 9-5 job? Pro tip: explore some other places around here, LIVE A LITTLE!

Husband and I stopped at the 7th Ave location for breakfast on our way down to Macys yesterday. Western omelet with French toast for him, everything bagel with cream cheese for me. Delicious, fast, clean and friendly. Definitely going back on our next NY trip.

I go here often for lunch during the week because its close to my office and its fast to grab something and head back to my desk. Its always busy during this time, so there is rarely a seat but the service is fast. Three stars for convenience and speed.

Cafe Metro = bleh. The make-your-own pasta bar is not bad, but the salads, soups, sandwiches all taste like nothing much in the long run. Soups are too salty, salads are mushy (get dressing on the side, unless you want a lake of dressing).
