Most basic of places primarily frequented by old people who cant see the dirty dishes, dirty silverware and dirty glasses set in front of them. Soup tastes straight from the can, breaded tenderloin was nearly tasteless, served on a bun straight from the package they bought at Hy-Vee a week ago, furniture in ill repair, pies in the pie case looked straight from a commercial frozen box, double wrapped in cling wrap since they need to stay fresh the several days they sit in the display. Go here if your grandparents insist but dont expect much.

The ribeye steak was horrible. It was 1/8" thick and half of it was fat. I have been there before and would have highly recommended this place but today changed my opinion. Commented on the steak to the waitress and she said thats how all ribyes steaks are. Very dissatisfying. Will not be returning.

We love this family owned old school restaurant! Chicken strips are the bomb!!! Dinners even come with dessert! Service is exceptional and we always visit them when in town. Always too full to indulge in their extensive pie selection!

Love the food here. Home cooked comfort style food and small town diner. Great breakfast stuff and always lunch and dinner specials too. Great omelets and corn beef hash scramblers. Laid back dining.

Prices are great!!! Food is pretty good, and service was pleasant and good... Very cozy place and awesome atmosphere!!! This is our breakfast place while we are here in Newton!!!!!!!!!!

Pancakes arent buttermilk and fluffly. Have a crisp taste to them. The oatmeal wasnt even oatmeal. I did not taste or see any oats in it at all and very watery.
