32 dollar bill. My boyfriend got one frozen belgian waffle and was very disappointed with the maple syrup that accompanied it. I got the smoked salmon bagel with the works that was presented nicely enough but the salmon was slimey and browning on some ends. We shared a side of the typical "diner style" canned corned beef hash, reheated to a sad, brown crisp. At least the coffee was warm... Originally we had decided to try the New Canaan Diner because wed never been there before and hoped for a nice, new experience close to home. When we found out that it was associated with the Post Road Diner of Norwalk, we joked that we should run out the door before we got our coffee. How unfortunate that we did not! Overall it was an awkward and disappointing experience. Definitely will not be returning to the New Canaan Diner, or Post Road Diner, and certainly never trying Darien Diner. If you want a decent breakfast in New Canaan, save your money and get a bacon egg and cheese sandwich from Veggie Barn on Cross Street.

A diner with lots of 1950s decorations, and with lots of families bringing children early in the dinner hours. The staff is very friendly, the food is solid, and it looks like a diner. What more could you ask?

Very good diner. Much smaller than the other 2 (Darien & Post Road). Probably the lesser of the three although the outdoor seating in the spring is a great option.
