After a number of diners in our area closed, had a fire or was torn down we had to find a new favorite diner in our neighborhood. We have been driving past this diner for many years, but rarely stopped here (for no particular reason), but decided to try it out with the family. I quickly found this diner to be a favorite of mine and reminiscent of diners I used to go to a long time ago in the Bronx and Manhattan. The burgers here are char-grilled with a wonderful flavor and done just right, the breakfasts are excellent -- very tasty and freshly made (and they really know how to crisp up the bacon perfectly), and they serve what tastes like freshly squeezed orange juice (or something that tastes similar). Their dinners are very good, with large portions and reasonable prices. The only thing that falls flat for me is their chicken soup which is lacking flavor and the rice that they put in it is not very good. But the wait staff and management are all wonderful, very attentive and take good care of us and have come to know us - we are always warmly welcome by them and our favorite waitress.

The Baldwin Coach is a place Ive been going to for YEARS now and I always enjoy it. The food is great and well priced, the staff is very helpful and its always clean in there. Except for one time where they had a leak in the ceiling but thats the one exception and it was gone the next time I went later in the week so they got it fixed really fast. They have a deal there which gets you 2 entrees and dessert for about $20 which is really nice. The only thing is that its only select entrees but its so varied that youll definitely find one you like. Its also a great place to bring your kids as they give out paper place mats and crayons so they can draw while waiting for food. They even display some behind the front desk and on the wall in the entrance. Overall I rate 5 out of 5. Somewhat based on nostalgia mind you but still a fantastic restaurant for a casual sit-down at any time of the day.

We are long time family friends of the owner so we know the situation is tough these days to keep a diner up and running. If you go during a "down" time of day, there will be fewer waitstaff on, so yeah...you might have to wait a minute for your stuff. But the staff is all really accommodating and its nice to see the same people working somewhere for so long. And each booth has one of those quarter-operated jukeboxes to flip through for entertainment! That said, the food is diner food. Its not going to be Zagat rated or Michelin star fare. Great staples like breakfast stuff, burgers, salads, baked goods, etc. but also a couple Greek and Italian specials. Some "diet" items in their own little section. Some neat specials. Overall, pretty good for a diner.

My family and I go to the Baldwin Coach Diner all the time and also get takeout. The staff is very friendly and they take time to get to know their guests. The diner is separated into three rooms, as well as the main part as you walk in. There is also counter service, if that is what you like. The food is typical diner food, including breakfast foods all day long, which my kids love. There is a kids menu, and they have crayons for the kids to draw. They are convenient because the diner is directly across from the Baldwin train station. I also like that they accept Android and Apple pay. The parking lot is a nice size and is sufficient for most times of the day. There is also a ramp to get in for wheelchairs and other disabilities.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. This place is pretty close to the local highschool, so once in a while we would go to this place since it had a large capacity for groups. I have been here 3 times and each time was horrible. The service was about as bad as it could get. The waiter was rude (probably b/c we were teenagers at the time) and took forever (i sat at my table with no drinks or anything for at least 30 min). The food it self was pretty bad considering how simple the orders were (burgers, chicken fingers and pancakes). All of it was bland and uninspiring. Unless you are a teenager from baldwin with no other means of traveling, take the extra 2 min down sunrise hwy and find a better place.

Cant say Im a fan. Maybe it was an "off day" for the diner but the food was subpar, the service was atrocious and the atmosphere was definitely not so desirable (could use a couple thousand dollars in sprucing the place up). Id much prefer driving into RVC and going to Golden Reef. To each their own, not my cup of tea.

I used to go here every week when I was a kid until early years of college. Sadly its not the same experience as I was young. Used to love going here, but prices went up, while portions got smaller. But I do love their Greek Souvlaki and the taziki sauce is a really good!

It was so bad I will never go there again. Food was well below par, service was horrible. Ordered pastrami sandwich, the meat was tough and dried out like a jerky and the bread was stale. Mot much more to say but never never again!!.

The service was phenomenal, made sure that I had a side salad and didnt pay extra for it. My food was great, my family didnt like theirs much. Said the food was a little bland, but I had no qualms though.

Staff is very nice. The food not gourmet, it is more like good home cooking. Love going on Sat nite for their stuffed cabbage. Have to go early or it gets sold out. All the food & desserts are fresh.

These guys have consistently good fish, better than restaurants that specialize in fish. They must get the first fish off the truck. And they know how to fix it. I used to be a regular here.

Absolutely horrible service. Ended up walking out because it took so long after being seated and waiting 15 minutes they still hadnt even taken our order. Seemed dirty as well
