So Im a 21year old college student, Im broke, but Im still not cheap. I dont settle for McDonalds and Beer just because we only have a $10 - $20 budget each to eat. I like a place where I can get a good drink, good food and convince my friends to come because they wont have to spend a bunch to get both. THIS IS THE PERFECT PLACE. A.J. Bombers (bombing peanuts to all tables!) has a fun environment and an absolutely awesome and attentive staff. They have a small selection of food on the menu, but their burgers and vegetarian substitutes (I suggest the stuffed portabello) make up for it in taste! Their selection of bar food is small but excellent and its no wonder theyve won awards. Next, is their fantastic BLOODY MARY!!! Oh my god is this thing loaded, but oh my god is it good! They have perfected the amount of spiciness that a bloody Mary needs to fufil its tatse and their garnish (a pickle, two olives and a topper of a piece of burger beef, wrapped in Munster cheese, wrapped in bacon) is phenomenal and large (Served with a Miller light chaser beer -proper bloody Mary etiquette)! The bloody and burger combo is only about $16 and its 100% worth the wait if there is one (you can save time by sitting at the bar, but only if youre going to order drinks too!) I will be back probably every time Im in Milwaukee at least for a bloody and probably for that stuffed portabello sandwich too. By the way, the manager is an absolute pleasure to be around and you can tell the staff is happy to be there. Love this place!

I first had an AJ Burger in 2009. Loved that it was smashed and had a nice "burger crust" from the super hot griddle. Simple american cheese and some bomber sauce (their version of ketchup), green lettuce and a fresh tomato. Since then, theyve gotten more creative with their sides and appetizers like Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls, Poutine, and Totchos (Loaded Tater Tot Nachos). The burgers have stayed true to the original beef blend (which includes brisket) and its the reason why Bombers has been embraced by so many in Milwaukee (locals and visitors). A few weeks after eating the burger I knew I wanted to work for AJ Bombers. I spent the next several years with them and became even more impressed as I learned how everything truly runs behind the scenes. Im in a different capacity working for Joe and Angie the owners of Bombers and a handful of other great spots in MKE. After 5+ years I can say that I still love the food at Bombers, love the process and love my job. Although I am biased because of this, I have recommended Bombers to all of my family and friends and will continue to do so even if I dont work for the group in the future.

We visited AJ Bombers during the summer for the first time ; we werent greeted at the door and were confused if we sat ourselves or wait to be seated. The man standing the bar told us to wait and said someone will come seat you. When we finally sat down I looked around and the layout was cool, but some staff looked very unhappy ( our waiter was kinda moody) you fill out your own order which was alright. My best friend and I both ordered the AJ BURGER $4.95 ( American cheese, lettuce, tomato & Bomber sauce) I didnt like the fact that the fries didnt come with the meal but ill live. When our waiter took our menus, and came back with another soda for my friend I asked her if I could see the menu again, I seen that she was annoyed. We also ordered the POUND O’ WINGS , they were really good!!!! Overall our meals was good, our burgers were kinda salty but the Bomber sauce made up for that.

My wife and I tried this place the day after they won the "food wars" award on Travel Channel for best Burger. We waited 45 mins to get seated. Now yes it had just been on TV so we were prepared to wait but the place is tiny and I heard it is always a long wait. Be forwarned! Find a time to get their when it is least busy. Friday or Saturday night probably going to wait a while! The service was OK. We got left for a long time as it was super busy. Didnt get refills :-( and had to shout down our waiter for help a few times. HOWEVER the food is unique for a burger joint. The Bomber burger was my fix which was very very very good. The buffalo Chicken egg rolls were also great and so if you get a chance to hit this place up and your feeling patient for a great burger then AJ Bombers has to be on your list.

Like others have said... This is a great place to bring people from out of town. Also try the Barrie burger! Its very very good! I realize peanut butter doesnt sound like it would be good on a burger but it is the best burger they have! I do not know enough about Milwaukee burgers but from what I have tried so far it comes damn close! The Barrie burger is my favorite burger in Milwaukee (Ive tried sollys and sobelmans to name two big ones). I only knock this place one star because its always crowded and usually requires a wait of 30 minutes!! Maybe open another location guys? The only time I sat down right away was on a Tuesday at like 730. Parking is pretty easy but depending on when you go you might have to pay for it!

First with the good! Its a cute LITTLE place! Fun, upbeat, and definitely something different! Now for the not so good; our waitress probably spent more time fraternizing with the bartender than she did actually waiting on us! It took over an hour to get our food! When we finally did get it, you guessed it, it was ice cold! Now for the terrible! I went with a party of 6! I didnt finish my burger because something just wasnt sitting right! By the time we all left and we go to the car I was nauseated and felt like I was about to get rid of what little I did eat! At first I thought maybe I was just coming down with something, but 5 out of 6 of us are now sick the very next morning after! Would I go back? NEVER!

Ill start with this: Ive had nearly everything on their menu, so Im an expert when it comes to this place. This place is the place for the best burger in Milwaukee. Ive eaten "for the cycle" here (single, double, triple, quad, all in one sitting). I was seconds away from beating the Squad Six challenge with Andrew Bogut was still with the Bucks. Both the A and the J in AJ Bombers have helped me with fundraisers for various causes and are really great people. The buffalo chicken egg rolls are my favorite app. I dont get here as often as Id like because of a person in my family has a severe peanut allergy, otherwise Id be here everytime I get to Milwaukee (which is around once a month).

This place was great! My boyfriend and i ate here friday night at 5, and we got a table right away! Our food also came within just minutes after ordering and oh was it good! We both got burgers and shared some fries and there was enough to satisfy him and definitely more than enough for me! Lol. We were even allowed to take our drinks home when i said i was too full to finish mine. The service was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and made the overall experience a great one. We live an hour and a half from milwaukee but when we do eventually visit again we know exactly where to go to get great food and great service. :)
