From the outside, this looks a little run down and very quiet. Inside, its quite a homely environment. Decor could do with some improvements, but I was more into the food. The food really was fantastic. I have ate at many Indian restaurants across the world, and being from an Indian background myself I know what is authentic and what isnt. And this definitely was. I went for the Shahi Paneer which was just one of the best i have had. Not many restaurants offer this, and if they do, it means they have a brilliant cook. I also had aloo gobi which was great too. I asked the manager if I could have it as a side, rather than a main and he did so. But the portion was still huge yet they charged 50% of the price to which I was happy with. I cant even remember how much I paid in the end - the food was so good and definitely worth whatever I did fork out! Its a great place, good, friendly service. 4 stars because although the decor wasnt all there, the service and food definitely were top marks.

I had a chicken tikka masala with Naan. Food was ok, but very expensive. Restaurent environment was nice and clean, restroom wasnt that good. Service was really bad, I had to ask three times for fill up my empty water glass during my dinner. It wasnt busy or something, and servers were standing by. They gave me the check without proper thanks for being there. My server was kind of racist attitude, because when I asked that I want to take food with me, he just brought a to go box and dump it on the table. When the next table asked for the same thing, the same server took their food and brought to them in a nice bag. It was kind of rude to me. Anyway I gave them more than 15% tip (which they dont deserve ), but I didnt get a thanks. When I said "have a nice night", the server didnt reply back. Hopefully the management will properly train their server about the service and customer satisfaction.

Bad service, unfriendly staff, no smile or greetings whenever I walk-in. Different face, same behavior. Carry out order, hot food was served in Styrofoam container, when I open the food bag, found 5 holes in the Styrofoam container that got melted in my food. Luckily, the food I ordered was not a curry. I threw the food and took the empty container to the restaurant. Showed the container to the manager/owner, he did not apologize or offer anything to compensate my loss, instead he asked me to give him the container, which I did not do. Another time, on Tuesday evening, I went to get some naans and order of Raita, they served me rotten raita, it wasted my food. I called the restaurant to complain, again no apology, no compensation. So I hardly go to this restaurant just to buy Naans, only, no more food from this restaurant.

The love affair with maharaja began 2 years ago. It was a first date over tandoori chicken and paneer saag. Since then my boyfriend and I go at least once a month. He without fail orders the Chicken Tika (fabulous!!!!) and I try something new. Ive even asked for items not on the menu without problem. Jack has been our waiter since the beginning and I swear half the fun of going is catching up with the staff (did you know he used to be a semi-conductor engineer?!) The prices are very reasonable for the food and service, and the lunch buffet is one of the best deals in town. And the icing on the cake, is the Indian grocery next door...where I try to figure out how to recreate all the wonderful dishes Ive tried. Do yourself a favor and stop in!

Dont ever go there... . Prices are in the sky... I was on my way from minneapolis to chicago and had to stop by this hotel. I went by the reviews and rating. The chicken biryani is like regular rice mixed with some plain curry and 3 chicken pieces 1 inch size. The worst biryani that I ever tasted... . We ordered Wada for our 3 years daughter ... She smelled bad from the sambar they served. I could not believe at first until I tasted it. Pretty much sure it was 5 days old. . I took the roti (Indian bread), it was hard... never had food this bad. I think - all awsome ratings are from their own people/ friends.

The chef and owners have changed since I was there 2 years ago. The chef change was very noticeable in the food quality. The food was not worth the $55 bill for 1 adult and 2 kids. The channa masala was watery and not flavorful (that is from my son who really likes channa masala) and the paneer dish was more gravy than paneer. The Gobi Manchurian was okay but the veggies were undercooked. The samosa was good and the mango lassi was good as well. It was a nice touch to get mango kulfi on the house as part of the dinner. This used to be my stop on my way to/from Minnesota. Not going to stop here anymore.

Wow, new paint job and better food! I had stopped going after it changed from a different name to this one a couple years ago because the recipes changed and the staff were less clueful than before. But 7 of us ate here for Christmas dinner and the food was amazing. Tender, well spiced. The staff were warm and friendly and helpful. Free mango ice cream and two boxes of wrapped chocolates at the end of dinner. (No hot towels tho.) I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be going there for their awesome buffet lunches in the future!

Food is ok "but i especially and personally feel The waiters should have some decency while talking with the customers, They dont really care whether you are waiting for someone to pick you up or some uber they will say straight to your face in an in direct way just to leave the premises." " Ordering take out or delivery is much better option than Dining In" "There are whole bunch of indian restaurants in the town, Serving food is not only the criteria but you should know how to behave and how to talk to a Customer"

Excellent food! If you like vegetarian this is a wonderful outing with very good variety, and some very unique and tasty meat options too. The lunch buffet has almost everything on their menu, so you get to try it all at a lower price. Dont be intimidated by the difference in culture, this is different from American food but definitely worth trying. Nice setting with cloth tables and well dressed staff that is very professional about their work. Loved it!

The best Samosas Iv had in America! But dont stop there! My wife and I often stop here when we are in town. The lunch buffet is good, but dinner is phenomenal. They spice the food exactly to your request. Im often dissuaded from returning to restaurants by inconsistent spicing levels, but you are asked the spice level you want when you order and its always been right on the mark for me. They recently redecorated and the colors are vibrant and fresh.

Attentive, culturally appropriate service; allowing sharing amongst friends with discreet service to the table. Buffet - Selection is quite adequate, seasoning similar to most buffets Ive eaten at serving Indian Cuisine. I prefer menu ordering, it can be a rarity during the lunch hour. Definately the perfect place for a low key, quiet meal as a vegetarian I wouldnt hesitate to dine again. Guru needs fresh flowers.
