For years I have wanted to come to your bar and check it out. A bunch for my friends got together last night and decided to check out a new bar location, which was yours. As you know, there is plenty of others places in Madison we could have taken our business. After getting severed with our first drinks and having a great time, what happened next was very disappointing. Your staff decided to totally ignore my group of friends (15 thirsty drinkers) and not provide service. We were not intoxicate (I only had one drink). After 20-30 minutes of waiting patiently for service, we left for a bar that would provide service. Myself and majority of my friends are from the hospitality industry and we would never treat customers in this fashion. The bar was not busy or under staff. Sincerely, one very disappointed customer.

I ordered from Argus for delivery through a delivery company called Straight2yourdoor. The food was great but parts of my order were missing. When i called the restaurant they offered no help and told me just to "deal with it". I am obviously livid with this statement and when i was unable to get my money back (just for the undelivered items) I called the restaurant again. The manager said that he would deliver me the missing food instead of giving the money back but instead he sent an unassuming delivery boy with the missing food prepared very much so sub par to the food I had received earlier. At this point i did not even eat the food but i will state that because of some of the worst customer service i have ever encountered i will not eat at this restaurant again.

Bar overall is clean and quiet which is nice... the staff was not so nice however. We had ordered drinks all night and tipped for every one of them. To close out the night I try to order a shot which takes two simple ingredients but I am very brusquely told no, which is no big deal... but instead of following it up with a "sorry" or offering another suggestion, the bartender, likely younger than myself, demands my ID in some sort of power trip. Again, this is after already serving our group drinks on a slow night. Pretty unprofessional... guess they dont need the business. At the risk of giving them what they want Id suggest taking your business elsewhere

After a ton of years in Madison, this past Friday was the first time I was in the bar. Its proximity to the capitol is nice, and the bar seems like a nice safe haven from the hustle and bustle of the area. It is very dark inside, which was actually welcomed the day I went in there. A good place to saddle up with a buddy, as I cant say this is a good date place. I found the prices to the reasonable on the drinks. I had a could beers and my friend had a couple gin cocktails that were well made. I did not try the food, so I cant comment there, and though the bar is a little dated, I will likely try it again in the future.

I came with a group of friends and the bartender opened up the basement for us so we could have a nice area to ourselves and play pool. Feels like a good down-to-Earth bar. Tons of seats at the bar since the bartenders area is a sort of island. Has a small Comfy chair area if you arent feeling sitting at the bar or at tables.

Havent been to the Argus in a while, was pleased to see that its not only thriving, it appears to be a pretty hip destination. The beer selections were excellent, definitely a good place to grab a drink while downtown. There is WiFi there too, which is key if you head to the downstairs bar.

My favorite bar downtown. Good prices, good mixes, and it never really gets too packed. They 2 different outdoor seating areas and its right next to a cigar lounge, where you can smoke indoors (winter smokers).

Yesterday we were hosting a company meeting and when we arrived they were incredibly hospitable and opened up the basement space for us. It was a great time and the level of service we received was outstanding!

I love the Argus downstairs. The upstairs is good too but the downstairs has pool, darts, music sometimes... Plus you can rent it out.
