I have no clue how this place has a 4.6 rating. Went there today, granted the service was polite but the food is horrid. I got a chicken chimmichanga and cheese dip, salsa and chips. First off the cheese has the worst possible flavor imaginable and is dark yellow in color. Lacks all flavor and I dont understand how because all it should be is melted white American cheese with spices. The salsa was sub par. Ive had better off the shelf of Walmart. Now to my chinichanga. The rice on the plate has the iconic orange color but no flavor what so ever. I get to the chimichanga to find everything wrapped up inside it. If youve ever had a chimichanga you should know its one of three meats (chicken, steak or beef) wrapped up in a flour tortilla and deep fried. Then topped with melted cheese and then a side of lettuce, pico, guac and sour cream. Not with this one. Was all smeared and wrapped up inside it. Cutting into this I find that the lettuce they put in there is rotting. Brown spots of mush are very appetizing. The chicken was even worse. Im assuming they use something out of a can because it didnt taste like chicken at all. Had an almost tuna fish like taste to it, no flavor. No spices, no onion, no bell pepper nothing. This place is nowhere near an "authentic" Mexican restaurant and for the price I paid I want my money back. Dont even take a second glance at this place, drive the extra 1/4 mile down London to Azul Tequila.

I thought the food was good to pretty good there several times I had been there. The last time I went however, the ?manager? Was extremely rude to my mother, and it was my moms birthday dinner. She had ordered a taco salad, and it came out punctually with the rest of our food. The only problem was that it was lacking sour cream or guacamole or salsa. So my mom waited for her to return and just asked for more and indicated a mistake had been made. To this the lady replied, "It was NOT missing. You just ate it off the top." I dont know if its normal to just scoop off the condiments from your taco salad, but that was not the case this particular evening. The lady grabbed the bowl, stormed away, came back a minute later, slammed it in front of my mom and walked away again without a word. It was very frustrating. My mom is a saint. I do not recommend it based on this terrible experience. Honestly, go to Casa Mexicana or Casa Margarita (same owners). They always are courteous, bigger menu, better quality food, and a better overall experience.

Small place. Very friendly staff. The menus were on the table caddy, behind alcohol menu, which we werent told, so we sat there for a couple minutes before we finally realized thats where they were. We were given chips and salsa right away, which was nice. The chips were great, but the salsa was bland, thin, and ice cold, which was weird. My chair dug into my legs because it was REALLY old. I switched it with another one, which did the same thing. The whole place was dinged up and in desperate need of a makeover, but it seemed relatively clean. The food looked amazing and came promptly, but was really bland. We had to add hot sauce to have any flavor, even though we got chorizo, which is supposed to be spicy. We had two different people serving us, both of whom checked in with us WAY too often, usually one right after another. Its fine to be attentive servers, but it was overkill. Ultimately not an authentic Mexican restaurant. If youre a midwesterner who thinks ketchup is "spicy," this is the place for you!

The friendly atmosphere and pulsing flashes from the twin "Powr Up" gambling/charging stations are a welcoming site as I pulled into Eau Claires premiere Mexican restaurant. Out of curiosity (and perhaps a little spite against Mallorys unquenchable vendetta against this fine establishment) I ordered the chicken chimichanga, and was surprised with the beautiful presentation that came. Behold! a beautifully fried chimichanga with half of the tortilla lifted like an oyster shell, revealing the pearl inside. This terrific array of guacamole, shredded lettuce, sour cream, and cheese lay in wait for my delight. And delight it did.

Wow! This place is fantastic! My husband and I went to Eau Claire for a trip and wanted something different. We were so impressed. It is a small restaurant, but the waitstaff was outstanding -- kind and accommodating. I had the carnitas tacos, and my husband had a carnitas burrito. Hands down the best tacos I have ever had. A woman who was either the owner or a manager was buzzing around, talking and making sure all was going well on the floor. My only wish is that it could be closer to the Twin Cities so we could eat there all the time! Amazing food, great staff! Definitely worth a trip!

This place is the real deal. Authentic Mexican food with EXCELLENT customer service. I love their menu but listen to this. I lived in Guatalajara for three months when I was just out of High School. The Chef was willing to re-create my favorite dish that wasnt on the menu (I live in Miami as well and cant find this dish anywhere). It was as good as everything else on the menu. LOVE their extra hot salsa. And the beer selection is on point. I am not a big fan of food in this city but I always look forward to a meal from Tacos Juanita.

This use to be my favorite mexican restaurant in town. I am not sure what has changed, but the food is just not a good lately as it has always been in the past. New ownership? New cooks? Tacos Juanita had the best authenic mexican food but for the past several months I am just not impressed. Sorry guys, but this just isnt my favorite place anymore. Im not saying its bad food, at all, but if you have eaten here a year ago, you will know the difference. Its the same as all the other places now in my opinion.

Im not sure what happened for the visitor on Dec 18th but I thought wed try this place for lunch and am glad we did! The salsa was fresh made and the ingredients snapped when you bit them. Some of the best Ive ever had! On a scale from 1-10, the meal was an 8 with the food seeming to have been all made from scratch. I thought the prices were a bit higher than other local, Mexican restaurants but I wasnt disappointed on any level from food to service. Absolutely recommended.

The Kings of Eau Claire Mexican Food! Alway been a big fan of mexican food, so to get my fix Id would have to go to Cancun or Azul Taquila, which are places I enjoy. But ever since I was introduced to Tacos Juanits I cant go back. This small restaurant has amazing salsa that is soo fresh and all the other food is on a whole other level it greatly outshine food that I have eaten at other places. Plus its much cheaper than the chains.

Authentic taste, friendly staff. The tacos are made many ways- my favorite is the California style- and are reasonably priced so that you can buy more than just one (which your stomach will thank you for). I usually grab a margarita first thing and coupled with the cilantro-heavy salsa with chips, I am in heaven even before my food arrives. Would recommend to anyone wanting a true Mexican flavor experience.
