Where do I start...Come here if you want BAD service and RAW UNDER COOKED FOOD or The fact that when you walk in this place the employees are sitting at the first table on their phones paying no attention to who walks in, the fact that 90% of the reviews on this page are of some relation to the owners and has to have their employees make reviews as well, or the fact that the chicken sits out all day in the kitchen at room temperature before it gets cooked 8 hours later. That was just the beginning. We waited 15 mins for the server to come over and ask for our drink order, then another 10 mins for drinks as she was too busy talking to her co worker and checking her phone, by the time we got our drinks we ordered our food as we werent sure how long it was going to take, then our food comes our and the beef is red like it is raw, the chicken smelled foul, needless to say the worst experience we have ever had, to top it off the server came over and tried to tell me that the beef was suppose to be like that, sorry but I am a cattle farmer and no it should not be served that way! Will never be back!

This place surprised my husband and I! We stopped by Cedar Rapids downtown area on the way to the airport to grab a quick lunch. The bar is very open and had a lot of seating and large tables to accommodate larger groups. We were in the mood for tacos and liked that they had great prices on lunch specials for mexican dishes. It did surprise me though that they also served good Ol American cuisine as well including some burgers and grilled wraps. I was very impressed with their salsa! It had great flavor with a little kick and it was given free with unlimited amount of tortilla chips. We also got the queso blanco dip which was a little on the cool side when it made it to our table but still delicious. Would go back there again in a heart beat next time were in Cedar Rapids

Disclaimer: I live in AZ, so I have high expectations on Mexican food. That having been said, this is a mixed review: My server, Erin, was great! Very friendly/attentive, and she made one hell of a margarita for me. This was a mercy, since the burrito I ordered was more bland than Al Gore. Zero heat, zero bite. For burrito fillings, they offered *ground* beef, or shredded chicken, pork, etc...I will only say this once: Ground beef does not belong anywhere near Mexican food. If beef is used, it should be shredded, whether muchaca or regular; NEVER ground. If you want a burrito with ground beef, go to Taco Bell. Note for smokers: they have a lovely little patio that they will NOT allow you to smoke on, but that seems to be the norm here.

Love downtown location. FYI downtown location and Edgewood Rd have different happy hours. My husband and I went to Edgewood Rd. No happy hour for Margaritas I was told by waiter. Advertisement on internet for downtown waiter was rude and said well you cant believe the internet. So sitting at our table two different waitress told there table about the Margaritas that were on special. Went up to hostess asked her she didnt know went to waitress she said they were but bartender said they werent. Why so disorganized. They dont even know what is going on. Stick to downtown. Great food and organized. Thank you downtown. Edgewood rd have the same or get it on the internet.

Came here with a party with coworkers. Wife and I sat down, we got drinks promptly but was not waited on again for over 45 minutes! There were people that came in long after we showed up that got served first. Almost all of the rest of the group experienced poor service. On lady waited over 30 minutes to be able to order. Another couple had ordered beer but didnt get it until after the 3rd time asking for it and took nearly 20 minutes to get. One persons Margarita took nearly 30 minutes to get. The only thing we ordered was a buy one get one Margarita. Probably the only time I considered leaving without paying. But we paid the bill for $6 and left.

I really like the downtown and Marion locations, but have been to the Edgewood Rd location twice and was not impressed. A friend and I had lunch at the Edgewood location recently and we were less than impressed with the food. Worst chicken taco salad that I have ever had. It was kind of gross. The salsa was runny and not that good. Our waiter appeared to have been on the hung over side and not once checked on us after our meals arrived. Would have been nice to had a refill on my drink. Giving 3 stars for the downtown/Marion locations, I give a one star on the Edgewood restaurant. Wont be going back to that one ever again.

Great tacos al pastor (real tacos served on small double layered corn tortillas, filled with seasoned pork and pineapple, and topped with fresh cilantro and onion.) Im currently having an order of their chips, salsa, guacamole and side of refried beans for lunch and its all delicious. The beans arent overly salted, the chips are crispy and delicious, the guacamole is kind of spicy and is topped with freshly chopped cilantro, onions and tomato. The salsa is a perfect addition to the beans. I LOVE that their salsa isnt loaded with chili powder - ew.

After moving here from So Cal 7 years ago weve struggled to find a Mexican food place in the Marion and CR area that was good, even decent. So just recently we tried La Cantina in Marion and dang. If you want some So Cal Mexican then this is the place for you. La Cantina reminded us of back home, from the tatted up Mexican servers to the quality ambiance and food. We even reverted back to speaking Spanish. Highly recommend it. The only thing I think they could remove from their menu is ground beef and use shredded beef instead.

Honestly the best possible service and food ever!!! We came in the restaurant was packed but the service was amazing! They were prompt to let us know they were busy but would get us sat as soon as they could...when we got sat the drinks were prompt...we ordered food and even though they were busy our food came out in a timely manner! Ive been to many places in town but the atmosphere good and service were the best in town!!!! Definitely will be back for sure!!!!

Atmosphere was nice. It was more "modern" than most Mexican places, and it was comfortable. Chips and Salsa were good. They were roughly 2/3 full. Id expect them to be able to keep up, but the food was still pretty slow coming out. I can only imagine how bad itd be if they were packed. The food itself was ok but somewhat bland. Ill try another place next time Im in Cedar Rapids.

Incredibly mediocre. The best part of the meal was the queso. My quesadilla was much more of an underfilled soft taco; it was not crispy at all and had only "grilled" chicken and a small amount of cheese. This was supposed to be a meal, not an appetizer, but no lettuce or tomato or sour cream, like every other Mexican restaurant. We wont eat here again.
