I love sitting on the deck here and enjoying the river view. The beers are also great here. I was a bit disappointed to find how limited the menu it compared to most McMenamins I have been to and not sure if this is this location or all of them, but still a reasonable selection. The real downside was the service. We waited about 30 minutes for a table even though there were many empty tables throughout. Then we had to wait about 20 minutes before we got our drinks and about 30 minutes for our appetizer. They really need to focus on improving the customer service as this is a BIG downside that need not be. We had the cajun tots which I love, but they were done very poorly this time and were stuck together in big clumps. The humus plate was very tasty. I had the Hammerhead BBQ Pork sandwich which was a bit heavy on the BBQ sauce. My wife had the Boardwalk Dip which was very tasty. We both had the clam chowder which was great. I would recommend only if you have plenty of time and patients to wait out the poor service.

My wife and I took my brother-in-law and my wifes mother out to dinner Thursday night for dinner. Thought this would be a nice treat to eat down by the river as they are from out of town. We requested to sit out side and were handed a pager and told it would be 10 to 15 minutes. After half an hour we checked to see if the table may be ready. Found out the pager wasnt even working. Wife and her brother ordered the fish tacos and neither of them could not eat them. The taco shells were cold and hard, could not be folded and both agreed they were the worst fish tacos they ever had. My mother-in-law and I ordered the flame broiled burger and asked how we would like it. We both said medium. Dont know why they bother to ask if they are going to cook them well done anyway. She couldnt eat hers and I was able to choke down a little over half of mine. Word of warning: if you want to enjoy an evening by the river, eat somewhere else and sit on the bench near the river for free.

McMenamins on the Columbia is my go to place when meeting up with friends/family from from West Vancouver. The building has a really fun interior, and the location is wonderful. They have a great patio and the view of the Columbia River is excellent - the water is right there. On a clear day the views are stunning. If youre there while there something boat/water oriented going on on the river it can add to the fun. There is a great little walking path that runs between the restaurant and the river. It is really easy to get in a fun little walk before/after. They have a great menu. You can have your typical pup burger, but they also have a little more if you looking more for a restaurant style meal. They have a great beer selection on tap, and the cocktails are always delicious. They do get a little crowded at dinner time, so you might have to wait. Theyre pretty good about getting people seated though. Parking has never been a problem.

Great view and a great happy hour, if you can make it. The great view can make it quite difficult to get in, though. Expect a wait pretty much any time after 3pm on nice days, which is our experience. Food is alright, slightly overpriced unless youre there for happy hour which has some good deals. I think it is only from 3-5 now, though so tough to make it for that. Service can be the best you have ever had at a McMenamins or close to the worst. There are a couple really great servers and some really oblivious ones, especially bartenders. Again, this is kind of expected for McMenamins. Parking can also suck (if you cant find a spot, it might be best to just go somewhere else). Honestly our best experiences have been getting in for happy hour, munching on apps and drinking some beers, and then walking it off watching the sunset on the Columbia River Scenic Walkway. Not a lot of other places to experience that.

This is place is going down hill. My wife and I waited 5+minutes to be seated when there was open tables and no line, Then after we sat and waited to order it took an additional 30+ minutes for the food to get there. I ordered "the good Shepards pie" for $13, and I was disappointed. The vegetables in the Shepards pie werent cooked all the way and the portion size was pathetic for a stand alone dish. I left hungry, frustrated from the wait, and irritated I just spent $35+ on 2 dishes of Shepards pie and 1 soda. Personally I eat out to experience food better than I couldve made at home, this isnt that. I wont come back and I wouldnt recommend it. Theres plenty of restaurants on the Columbia with nice River views from the seating to have to settle for this place. Food- 3/5⭐ Wait time- 2/5⭐ Service -3/5⭐ Location- 3/5⭐

I have been to this location several times over the past few months. Aside from an incredible view, the service and food quality could stand to be polished up just a bit to be in comparison to the prices. Most of my trips have been for business lunches, which the view simply cannot be reviled with on the Columbia River. My business guest had the Ruben sandwich which was on average a 3 1/2, though it it sometimes difficult to mess around with such a traditional item. I myself had the clam chowder. This was homemade and very good quality. The server we had was very good and attentive, though looking around at the other tables and guest, it seemed that not all patrons were treated fairly. Mostly from a service experience. The view and surroundings are awesome at McMenamins, I will be back for sure..

Went there for the third and final time last night. If you want terrible, over priced food than this place is for you. Our party had ordered the fish and chips, the The 19th Hole sandwich and the Flame-Grilled Burger. The fish and chips would have been fine had the fries not been completely cold. The 19th Hole sandwich was a complete joke. It had a tiny piece of turkey and mayo wasnt even spread around. We pretty much payed $14 for a bread roll. The tater tots, like the fries, were cold and stiff. Every single time we have been here, the service takes way longer than it should. The only decent part was that the servers were nice and pleasant. We have been to other McMenamins and been happy with our experiences, but we will no longer be going to the McMenamins on the Columbia .

Went there for a double birthday celebration dinner. They packed 5 adults on a tiny 4 person table. Took way too long to get our food, about an hour and they werent even busy. Had to ask for silverware and napkins. My daughter only got a Caesar salad and it was warm and wilted as if it had been sitting for the whole time we were waiting, she didnt even eat it. So much for that $7.50. Two of our group ordered iced teas and had to ask the waitress 3 times for them because she kept forgetting them. My salad and beer was good, not great. Our total was $95.00 but honestly, not even worth $25.00. I will not go back there nor will I suggest to anyone else. With all the options to eat around there, the service and price point were horrible. Stay away unless you only care about the river views.
