Best experience at a bar-restaurant Ive had in a very long time! Friendly neighborhood atmosphere that you can immediately feel whether it is your first or umpteenth time as guest there. Usually at such bar-restaurants, the drinks are good but the food is mediocre bar-fare: NOT so at Wilders! Both the cocktails as well as the food we had were the tastiest!! Started out with amazing cocktails (tamarind fuego where you can taste the actual fresh tamarind that went into the drink & pisco sour that is made with the extra effort required to prepare the drink from scratch using fresh ingredients, NOT sweet and sour mix out of a bottle). The fried asparagus were truly scrumptious! The batter in which the asparagus had been fried was so perfectly crisp, non-greasy & so yummily spiced (without being too hot) that I just wanted to eat them as they were without distracting from their wonderful tastiness by dipping them into the remoulade that was served on the side. Just to taste, I dipped my last stalk of asparagus into the remoulade; and it was so fabulous that we were inspired to go all out and, so, requested another order just so that we would have something with which to consume what was left of the remoulade. Also, the bartender BEN is awesome!! He makes you feel welcome and at home immediately with his great manner: delightful and affable but not overly so the way a lot of servers and bartenders try to be. He is super efficient and super professional: has to be in order to be the one-man show that he seems to be in dealing with the public. He doubles as bartender and server who comes out to serve the guests at the sidewalk tables as well as attending to everyones needs inside the bar. He is genuinely charming with the guests (witty yet not wiseguy, very energetic and animated, attentive yet not coming around and asking stupid questions like "how is everything tasting?" every few minutes the way servers do all too often these days. He is friendly yet not obnoxiously chatty with the guests the way so many servers seem to think it is acceptable to be. His is an all too rare professional style of excellence. I have more praise to give, but Ill stop here because this is supposed to be a brief (?!) review. : )

Was very dissapointed by my experience here. Came at 6 45...still not seated or served by 9 pm. Live in the neighborhood, but treated real crappy. Bartender was quite nice, which was the only bright spot. Saw an overserved patron...many had been there since opening at 4 30 and were moved to an open table ahead of our party, despite already having a table. Definitely not worth the 30th and Killingsworth ambiance(lol). Better options are Tasty n Sons, Podnahs, Bunk Sandwiches, Lincoln...really anything in N/NE Portland.

Excellent neighborhood spot with ample outdoor seating and bike parking. Happy hour is 4-6 but regular menu prices are pretty reasonable too. They have a handful of beers on tap, wines, and cocktails ($1 off during happy hour). The daily soup special, vegan sweet potato, was delicious. Plenty of gf, vegan, and veggie options. Salads were just a tad overdressed, but flavorful and generously sized.

The atmosphere is great. The veggie burger is amazing, especially if you add white cheddar and a perfectly cooked egg. Reasonable prices, great cocktails! Good beer on tap. The only downside is a limited wine selection, but the house red is decent.

Been twice now in two weeks and the food and service are fabulous. I dont go there to be rushed, and I never feel that way, yet the staff is attentive in a non-rush way (if that makes sense)! Cozy neighborhood spot which makes me love Portland.

Terrible experience! The staff was incompetent. There was ton of open seating, but the staff struggled to seat a party of 4 (more than 2 hours). Food was not worth the wait. Its a long way away from a top quality NE PDX joint to frequent.

FANTASTIC food. Great service. AMAZING drinks. This place has a perfect selection and doesnt take itself too seriously. Small, dark, and cozy, but classy. Get the burger or Caesar salad...and their drinks are definitely worth the price!
