Ive eaten here occasionally for the last 10 years. Things were pretty iffy this last weekend. First off, service was slow. We had a reservation, but waited 30 minutes to be seated (15 mins after the hostess told me they were busing the table). The server didnt seem to be around much, and our appetizers came out cold. My entree (pizza) also came out cooled off, and was about the worst pizza Ive had. Frozen would have been better. The crust was extremely tough and chewy and was overwhelmed with corn meal. Others at the table seemed to enjoy their meals. The server and manager recognized the pizza looked horrible and took it off the bill. If you like calamari, dont bother here. The "calamari and bamboo shoots" is mostly bamboo shoots. The squid breading is soggy. Ive given it a chance twice, but not again. When we walked out, finished dishes were stacked up on the counter outside the kitchen, waiting to be delivered to tables. I suspect we werent the only ones with cold food. Overall Ive almost always had good experiences here. I hope this is not a downward trend.

I was in town for work and a coworker suggested Beaches for a nice dinner. It was awesome. It was crazy busy when we got there, but we were still seated in less than 20 minutes. We sat outside so that we could watch the sailboats. But the overall atmosphere was great. Added bonus for me is that they dont allow smoking in the outside area. So a plus for non smokers. The staff was super friendly and the food was wicked good. I asked for snapper to be fried, and they dont make it that way, so I said OK, Ill take it grilled. They still tried to make the way I asked, even though I said It was OK. It didnt turn quite like I expected, so they took it back and tried something else. What I got was DELICIOUS!! They went out of their way to make me happy, even though I didnt ask. And I super appreciate it. I will definitely be going back there when I go to Vancouver for business again.

This is a great local place with nearly everything you can ask for. A great view, very good food (ok, its not some new and innovative food snob menu, but the entrees they do have are well prepared, and adequately varied), and excellent service. And I especially love how much of a community feel there is. From signing the notebook of the servers, to the local events the restaurants participate in, to the frequent "how was your meal" by the owners, and even a charity table! (Best seat in the house can be had by donating to a local charity of the month!). Food snobs (and I can be one of them sometimes) may snub this place, but if youre humble, and looking for the right things in a restaurant, I challenge you to find fault in Beaches!

Went for dinner on the 4th of july. 3 adults 4 kids and a baby, spent $150. I had the 12 bone st louis ribs. The robs were good, but drenched in a cold bbq sauce that was added after they were cooked. Wife had a 10oz sirloin. That was supposed to be medium but came out very welldone with cold broccoli. My sister got the 14oz ribeye that was cooked medium as requested, but the meat was so stringy and fatty she could not finish it. The kid food was decent. Fries, mini dogs, kids steak..etc. My jack and diet was good. The teriyake apatizer was excellent. Service was with a good attitude, but we had a 20 min wait After our meal that forced us to rush to the fireworks. Not worth it for $20 plates.

Norms Place after Cheers Closed Great happy hour, people, customers, and location. They will call you by name. Bring youre mouth piece of you sit at the bar. Someone will have good conversation for you. Vibe: 7= (fun, relaxed, summer) Tribe: 7= (fast, experienced, friendly) Offerings: 6= (standard, reliable, good) Porter Tip: Happy Hour is busy but slows down during late night. Take a walk along the river. [About my ratings- Cost weighted 1 thru 10. More expensive the experience, the harder it is to reach 10. An average establishment rates 5, a good score. Ten is perfection. Im still looking for it. The symbols + - = show trending better, worse or staying the same.]

I was going to give four stars but I was so impressed walking out after my familys lunch experience that Im giving five stars. This restaurant overlooking the Columbia River has a delicious, healthy variety of menu options. I had the daily special, a fresh caught local Stealhead fish (similar to Salmon) that was grilled lightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside to perfection. I loved the different areas of seating, ambience and views. Excellent bar and dessert display. Nice touch at the end of meal with a bag of homemade flavored popcorn and salt water taffy. Excellent, well run establishment with great service. Great for family get togethers, dates, business meals, etc.

The waiters and waitresses were very nice, but super slow and the food was blah. Ordered Cesar salad that came out with soggy lettuce and didnt taste like anything. Then they messed up my order and brought me the wrong meal... then took an hour to bring back the right one. As well, the crab/artichoke dip tasted like cheese... that was it. Overall, waited and hour an half just to eat a Cesar salad wrap (which of course didnt taste like anything after I took it home) and my daughter (8 months old) got upset after being there so long. The manager apologized and said would send us something in the mail (never received anything). Going to be awhile before attempt going back.

I took my dad here for his 60th birthday. Our party was on the larger side, 10 people plus a toddler. Our server was AMAZING. Her name was Sarah. She handled the party size flawlessly.. She remembered everyones name, even my nephews favorite toy! Her personality was sparkling and she was quick on her feet. As the toddler got a little restless toward the end of dinner, she even took him to the back (with parent permission of course) and showed him the kitchen and let him pick out some toys to take home. The wait staff at restaurants can really make or a break an experience and Sarah went way above and beyond any service I have ever received.

2 stars only because the service was great. Food was disappointing. The Tambo Tuna is 18 dollars, its cooked tuna steak and is supposed to be served with blackberry slaw, no blackberry anything to be found. It was not worth the price. Raw seared Ahi tuna would have been acceptable and much much better. Shrimp wrap had shrimp bits? Basically mayo and lettuce in a wrap. Disappointing again. We got the mondo margaritas for 10 bucks each. They were tasty but lacked any tequila flavor at all. Pretty much fruit juice and ice. Overall the two meals plus the two drinks and tip was 60 dollars. Service was great though so we gave her 20 percent.

Very happy we decided on going to Beaches for our date night. I heard the food was good, and it was delicious! They had swordfish on their special menu, and for a thicker fish meat, it was cooked nicely. He had the salmon, as suggested by out waiter. Very nice. Pumpkin Pie martini was awesome :) The only improvement would be the money-quality-portion ratio. To me, if the food is superb, and a bit costly, I expect smaller portions. While the food was good, for the cost, it should be slightly bigger portions. Just from an economical point of view. I will say our waiter was fantastic. I believe his name was Brandon. Very funny guy :)
