When you go in - its nice, and the waitstaff are great. Youre excited about the organic menu, but the fried garbanzo cracker they serve with chutney is burnt... Your garlic basil naan tastes reminiscent of the spices its labeled to have, but its also burnt some. Your organic dishes, requested to be 3 stars, come back bland, NO SPICE!!! Your basmati rice is under cooked and crunchy in some bites. This was my first time here. I was very disappointed. I came on Nov 19th, around 7:30pm. The place was not busy, so there isnt any kind of excuse for poorly made food. The waitress did not write our order down, and I feel that contributed to the mix-up about spices. I will not go again unless someone else goes - and pays. Which thankfully my date did. 51.00 was not worth the food, if you base price on quality. Id rather have paid them 30.00 or even less for this. "It used to be good, thats a shame." Said my boyfriend who had been there a few years ago or so. I would go to Cedars, Shalimar, or Bengal Tiger instead, Saffron Grill is really good, too.

I am a widely travelled person .While visiting Seattle, I and my wife wanted to have traditional authentic north Indian food. Therefore we visited Chutney Bistro for lunch today and our experience at the restaurant was quite bad.We are vegeterians and were at the restaurant to relish indian curries and opted for buffet.I served myself with masala potato and cucumber salad along with other dishes .However my wife pointed out these dishes contain egg.Being highly allergic to egg when I asked one of the staff as to why they have not indicated that these veg dishes contain egg, their response was curt and abrasive.I have yet to see such a uncouth behaviour of any restaurants staff in my life.As regards their other veg dishes like chana masala, shahi paneer etc those were also not of authentic Indian taste. As I belong to Delhi, citadel of traditional Indian food, who will know better than me as to what Indian food is.Not recommended to those who are looking for Indian food in Seattle.

We love this restaurant. Ive had to be in the hospital quite a bit with my sick daughter, and when possible my family and I often go to chutneys for meals. The staff is kind and friendly , and always remember me and my family. They welcome my service dog, which many places do not do despite it being the law. The food is fantastic, and if you want you can have zero heat without losing fantastic flavor. One of the things that makes this restaurant stand out is the fact that there wonderful lamb is tender and falls apart. I could even eat the lamb, well I was having dental work done which says a lot. I usually wont order: lamb in restaurants because its usually undercooked and very very tough. But at this restaurant it melt in your mouth! Excellent service, friendly staff , nice environment fantastic food you cant get any better than Chutneys Bistro!

Never going back, period!! Got there 5:30 Wednesday evening, we were the -only- ones in the place. Orders were placed right away, =but= appetizers never showed up and 25 minutes later we were ready to walk out. Just as we were gathering our things to do so, dinner showed up -- we were severely underwhelmed!! Hers was a chicken dish with a special sauce containing pistachios, but you sure couldnt tell it. Mine was a chicken talli, and the -best- I can say about it is that it was edible. I checked out the web-site and read a few reviews before we decided to come here for dinner. -Now- I feel cheated and wonder if we even went to the same place as those who wrote the rave reviews! Certainly wont make -this- mistake twice!

I think I have found my best restaurant so far. I was in Wallingford center and somebody recommended me this restaurant. At first I hesitated but my boyfriend insisted in going there. So we give it a go. I would say that was my best decision. Lets directly dive into the food. And plus point is that they have ORGANIC FOOD:))) BINGO, where can you find a Indian restaurant serving organic food :). For the dinner I ordered Lamb Rogan Josh and my boyfriend ordered Organic Chicken Tikka Masala and Spinach Naan. OMG the food that we got was heaven lamb was fantastic while the Organic Chicken Tikka Masala was out of this world. I am definitely coming back to this restaurant and it would be my regular place to go. YAY

Overall, a good meal with excellent service. Walking in one of the waiters noticed me breaking away for the bathroom & grabbed me to ensure I got the code for the door- mind readers! That said, the food feel slightly short of expectations. Spicy levels 1-6; level 6 saag aloo failed to even break a sweat. The tandoori roti & paratha were virtually indistinguishable in taste & texture. The saag paneer was 36-38% peas, which was an unfortunate surprise. On the other hand, the mulligatawny seemed bottomless and had a fantastic apple flavor to it. The paneer pakoras were utterly delicious as well. Not the greatest experience in Indian cuisine, but still a solid choice & reasonable price.

Ordered thru DoorDash. Worst food Ive had in recent times. Ordered half plate dal n half plate bhindi with two mint parathas. Small plate of raita on the side. Apparently you cannot order any veg curry without palak chhole, so they added that too. The food also came with a HUGE box of white rice. I would have saved leftovers for next day BUT.. parathas were huge, hard and thick. Bhindi had less bhindi and more chhole (no kidding). Dal was okay, palak chhole was not good either. Raita had loads of salt. Regretted every bite of it and ended up wasted lot of food. All in all ordering from here was a big mistake.

Fantastic Indian food, some of the best I have ever had. Chicken Tikka Masada was savory and the basmati rice was perfectly cooked. They have a bread basket that has various types of Nana that is amazing, especially if you get some chutney to go with it. And here one thing even better they have mango & tamarind chutney. So many places only offer mango chutney. This place was an accidental find after the restaurant we were going to was closed, and such a fortuitous find it was. This restaurant will be a regular place for us from now on.

The food is great! The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was very good, we had a new waitress but she still did a good job. I love indian food and I am a strict organic vegan and they offered food that was right up that alley. They even had filtered water which is also hard to find in a restaurant. There are not many restaurants that are offer an organic menu. Chutneys Bistro is officially one of my favorite places to eat now. I would give them a 10 out of 10. Great place to dine for any occasion!

Really like this place. Its in this giant house looking structure that houses different shops and offices. From the outside it certainly has character. But beying character it has parking which in this area is a huge win. The food is good as well, and they will work with you if you happen to have food allergies. Grab seat by the window for a nice view of some of the shops in Wallingford, or take your food to go and eat out on the buildings patio.
