My boyfriend and I arrived to a packed restaurant on a Saturday night. We went into the bar to wait for a table. We ordered Margaritas after learning that they wont make Mojitos "because Mojitos are Cuban and this is a Mexican restaurant" and immediately regretted our choice! Terrible Margaritas! We were told that they make their own sweet/sour mix which is definitely more sour than sweet and completely tasteless. No citrus in spite of testimony to fresh squeezed limes. We ordered top shelf tequila, so that was not the problem. We decided to endure them - and wait for a table. We ordered guacamole, salsa and chips - and watched other folks receive an assortment of salsas with their guacamole where ours arrived sans salsa- just chips and guacamole. Our table was ready so we were sat, and greeted by our waitress who promptly left without any acknowledgement or offering to take our orders. The place was very busy - customers walking up to put their own names on the Hostess list- lots of running around by staff. We had discovered very little Vegetarian options on the menu when we looked at it in the Bar. Our Bartender had pointed to a few options that were made with the same ingredients, just different sauces and arrangements of the vegetables made up the "different" dishes. Our waitress, when she finally arrived to take our order- pointed us to the Suize Enchiladas which arrived with cold Cojito cheese inside the enchiladas. I asked our waitress about this (they were terrible!) and she said that ideally the cheese would be melted in the enchiladas because of the sauce. She offered to warm them up and we declined as we had waited so long already and were on our way to a show. COld enchiladas? For $12.95? The other dish of sautéed Poblano chilis and mushrooms was just ok. The black beans were great - and the guacamole and chips. Everything else was not worth the money or the terrible stomache aches that we both went to bed with later on that evening. The service was frantic, distracted and shorthanded. The food AND drinks were awful. If you are Vegetarian, do NOT waste your time or hard-earned money.

Hit Or Miss Food; Awful Service This place used to be a lot better. Its ridiculously overpriced for a lot of things (nearly everything is $14), but at least the entrée portions are fair. However, large portions matter less to me than quality. The carnitas often tastes refrigerated and lacks proper marbling, leaving the meat somewhat dry and not as creamy as one expects from the dish. It tastes like leftovers. The Carnitas Plate allows for about six tacos worth of meat, but the toppings are limited and offered in small quantities. Some of my pork tasted old and some of it was noticeably more fresh. Overall, poor quality control with protein. They do achieve a nice char on their meat, but the chunks are simply too small, which contributes to the dryness. Carnitas should be chunks of fatty pork shoulder, chopped like stew meat, and braised in salted water or lard. It should be crispy and creamy. This was minced, grilled bits of shoulder. I found the torta to be a better experience, simply due to it being a fairly wet and messy sandwich to begin with. The pickled peppers were a bit overwhelming in quantity, but overall, a decent sandwich. The service was abysmal until the owner saw me taking a picture of the plate and probably figured I was reviewing something; then, it went from a zero to about an eight in such an awkwardly obvious amount of time. Before that, it took over ten minutes to take our order (the place was dead), and we had to get up to ask for water and extra chips for the bowl of esquites (which only comes with three tiny chips and isnt as good as it used to be). Im not sure what happened to this place. It used to be incredible, years and years ago. Id say give it a pass.

We came here for Sunday brunch. It was busy and a small line outside but moving fast and we were seated within 15 minutes. The place is fairly big actually considering they have two bars and seated areas. The ambience is lovely, filled with colours and paintings (for sale). Service is friendly but slow as they were packed and looks like food is made fresh so no problems. Between the four of us we ordered: - eggs with chorizo and beans: not the best chorizo out there - a vegan dish: they didnt have to many great vegan options so our friend wasnt really happy with his dish. Might not be a good place for pure vegans. - huevos mexicana was good - huevos divorciada was the best - two tacos with eggs on top divided by baked beans one side with red salsa and the other side with green salsa. Delicious and light. I think you need to know when to come and what to order because we had 2.5 dishes that were good out of 4. Prices are a bit on the expensive side and service is slower than other places but I still loved it.

My husband and I had dinner at Senor Moose one of the first nights we moved to Ballard because all our friends kept telling us the food was amazing. We both ordered mole (which wed never had before) and thought it was good but realized that neither of us really loves mole. So, we didnt go back for a long time until stumped on where to go for brunch we decided to try them again. Amazing! First of all, this is one of the first Mexican restaurants in Seattle that I have found that actually serves sopes - yum! Second, all the attention and flavor they put into their mole they also put into seasoning other dishes. The beef and chicken that we had were tender, flavorful and simply delicious. Seattle is not known for great Mexican food and its been a challenge to find a good place. We lived in Phoenix for two years and while we absolutely dont miss Phoenix, we do miss good Mexican food. Hooray for Senor Moose!

Here is the deal with this place. They have great food in a small little restaurant in Ballard. Its not cute, nice, or spacious by any means but they make great food and fast. The guacamole is amazing and the servings are large enough to fill you up. They are a business and they need to be profitable. With there limited seating and high demand they need to turn over tables fast. I have been there a few times and no matter what day it is there always seems to be a wait. Yes... its worth it. If you want to sit and talk after dinner though I recommend going across the street to the coffee shop. It sucks I know... but that is what you get with any popular small amazing restaurant.

Meat was like crunchy beef jerky. Parmesian cheese on the beans and tostadas, that tried to claim was cojita cheese. Im Italian and I know my parmesian and this was parmesian. Sent the tostadas back and was told "thats how we cook our meat here". Not busy but piss poor service. It took 15 minutes to get the margaritas we ordered (which were good but not great). Guacomole was good and chips made fresh, but you have to pay for chips and salsa, AND the salsa portion was not bigger than a cup of ketchup at a fast food joint. The waitress (possibly an owner) was rude and condescending about why we were unhappy with our food. I would not recommend this place, nor will I be returning.
