For real, 100% Norwegians they are a real disappointment. Terrible customer service and inflated prices. They told my 87 year old Norsk mom on the phone they might have the sausages she serves every year for Xmas, we arrived a few hours later and there was nothing but a crowded chaotic shop. She asked them a few days before if they could hold some for her but they said no. Mom doesnt drive. We sorely miss Olsens Scandinavian foods because they made their own sausages and had great customer service. I found an on-line source for next year.

There are lots of foods, books, cds, jewelry, clothing, & souvenirs from the various Scandinavian countries. They have quite a bit of variety. They make a lot of items in house. There is also a cafe with seating offering coffee, snack foods, deserts, & meals. There is a large selection of books & cds in various languages. Some of the prices are a bit high, but when you know how much things cost before they arrive in the US, it isnt too surprising. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Nearly impossible to visit as they close at 5.30 and when I finally got there, the trip was for nothing. I had to try and make it on my lunch break (from downtown) to get a birthday gift -- something I called ahead for, asked if it was in stock, and was told yes. When I arrived, the item was not there, they just had something similar. Maybe if you are able to go in the middle of the day and without any expectations of what you hope to find, youll enjoy yourself. I will not be returning.

We ordered some Lamb Bones way ahead of time, When we got there they were not put aside. Some kid threw some in a bag and it was very bad and not near what we ordered. Now that Olsens is gone this place has the market cornered and dont care about their customers at all. We spend hundreds of dollars there each year and dont deserve to be treated like this. We talked to the owner and he basically told us tough luck.

Fabulous emporium of all things Scandanavian. Cafe with smorbrod sandwiches and few other items to eat there, copious grocery items emphasizing Swedish and Norwegian foods, and imported apparel (think sweaters) and kitchen items. Need a painting of a Viking? Youve come to the right place!

I went in there for the first time today to buy some seasoning, and boy, was I pleasantly surprised. After buying the stuff, the woman at the register offered me free lefse and a free salmon sandwich! Super kind, generous, and I know Ill be coming back there often.

Great place to find yummy Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish treats and savory dishes/ingredients. Love that they sell Kex bars. MMM Kex! Wish they had more of an Icelandic representation there, but Ill take what I can get.

From a Norwegian immigrants point of view: Very good Norwegian style shrimp open faced sandwich. Good cakes at the cafe. Smaller selection of Norwegian staples, including some meat products. Very friendly.

A good place, I hope they stay in business! I wish they carried snus, and alcoholic beverages. What they do have though, they seem to have a good selection of and everything is very authentic.

You come because of the beautiful winter decorations in the window and stay for killer lunch options. Oh and the cheese selection (worth the splurge).

Ordered a sandwich with fresh fish and veggies and loved it. There are also a lot of souvenirs for people who are interested in that type of thing.

One of the last ballard locations to buy your lefse and norwegian cheese slicers. Get in there before it becomes another block of condos.

I come here for only 2 reasons. 1.) I think the owner is really cute. 2.) Their salami is delicious.
