The best part of the sandwiches here is definitely the BREAD! Compared with a French baguette, the soft sweet roll from here has a lighter, softer, and sweeter interior. The crust is paler and thinner, offering a lighter crisp instead of a hard crunch. The soft sweet bread reminds me of Portuguese rolls which I absolutely adore. I should just pick up some of their bread from the bakery next door. Its so good. I think the deli meats are supplied by Boars Head so theres nothing very special about them, but the sandwiches do have a generous amount of stuff inside. Im not too crazy about the homemade specials. The meatballs could use more seasoning, but the sandwich has a good amount of gooey cheese and marinara. I also think the chili could use some more spices like cumin and paprika. Theres multiple types of beans in it (kidney and pinto I think) so if thats your thing, youll probably enjoy it. Personally, its a bit too beany for me. All of this doesnt really matter though, because the bread alone is worth the visit.

Weird, rude, abrasive, flippant, inefficient, appetite and business killing man at order/cashier table (i presume hes the owner). Over priced. Boring menu choices. Heated meat, not bread. I wanted the opposite. Hardly any fillings and its $9.50. White unrecognizable lettuce. The bread is not from bread store next door (which is not a bakery, they just re-heat undercooked bread. Dont fall for the gimmicks). Subculture does not look like a legitimate, health approved, licensed, employees-above-table type of business. Dumb sf type lemmings think a place is cool if it looks secret Ripoff

This is the best deli on the peninsula and probably the entire bay area. Its a tiny shop open during lunch only. Patrick, Jackie, and the rest of the crew are friendly, hard working, and make simply delicious sandwiches. Be prepared to wait in line as it gets busy. No seating either. Daily specials rotate but include lobster rolls and chili dogs. Speaking of which, the chili is legit.

Didnt like it as much as Little Lucca. Sandwich was ok but wasnt as big, and there wasnt as much selection on the bread.
