A few years ago, I read a friends status on Facebook where he thanked another one of his friends for turning him on to Katsu Burger. I knew where it was but every time that I was in the area and hungry, I always opted for the I Luv Teriyaki place next door. Well, the other night, I was in the mood for a burger and since I was already headed to Seattle, I decided to give Katsu Burger a try. I had also recently read an article on the best places to get french fries in Washington and Katsu Burger was high on the list so I figured why not knock out two new experiences at one time. This is a little hole in the wall joint on Marginal way just around the corner from 4th and Michigan but the flavor and presence is nice and big. It was a little hard to decide at first. You can order any sandwich with beef, chicken or pork and they have a ton of selections to choose from. I decided on the Samurai Special with beef and I ordered my fries with the 12 spices. When you order your fries, there are a few decision to make. I think there were 5 different types of seasonings to choose from and then you get to choose a dipping sauce as well. I opted for the spicy mayonnaise. Ive ordered chicken katsu and tonkatsu at my favorite Japanese restaurants before and I know that katsu means breaded and deep fried but I wasnt prepared for what was blatantly apparent when I received my sandwich. The meat on every sandwich at Katsu burger is breaded and deep fried. It never dawned on me until I took a bite that the name Katsu burger was literal. Served with shredded cabbage instead of lettuce and topped with a wonderful curry sauce, this burger was delicious. The fries were amazing as well and I was 100% satisfied with my meal. It wasnt what I set out to have when craving a burger however it was a welcome change and I will definitely be back to check out the other variations. The space is quirky and full of cool photos and decorations too. If you want to try something completely different then go to Katsu Burger. Its fusion done right. Thanks for reading.

A Greasy, Flavorless, Disappointing, Overpriced Mess Im not sure what the glowing praise is for in regards to this place. I can only assume its that a lot of people cant taste the food that theyre eating. I got the Tokyo Classic and sea salt fries (which came to about $12; which is $5 too much). The beef was absolutely flavorless, greasy, completely undrained, and unseasoned. The katsu coating was just okay (about what youd expect from a food court), but it fell off quite easily. The tomato was pink and flavorless, the onions lacked any bite, and the pickles couldnt keep up with the pooled grease. The bun, surprisingly, was the best part. It had a strong sesame flavor and reminded me of a cheap but passable bagel. It shouldve been grilled with butter, though. And look: I like a greasy burger; this was just the bad kind. It wasnt seasoned at all and I regret having even tried it. This might be the worst burger Ive had in Seattle (and there is some serious competition for that spot). Fries are bulk frozen french fries that youd find at a cheap fast food place. Horrible. Sauces tasted bottled and overly sweet with minimal depth. Absolutely lazy and phoned in. The place itself seemed clean enough and the workers were friendly. So no complaints there. But I didnt come here to talk in a clean bench, I came to eat. And not only did I not even finish this sad meal, I made sure my body didnt have a chance to digest it. Absolutely and utterly depressing. Dont believe the hype.

Came here because I had a coupon from my Chinook book for free fries! I had to get the nori (seaweed) fries because I love nori chips! I got the curry mayo and paid an extra 50 cents for the sriracha mayo since I couldnt make up my mind. Both were really good. Their two most popular burgers are the Godzilla Attack which is smothered in sriracha mayo sauce with a beef katsu patty and the Ohaiyou Gozaimasu which comes with a beef katsu patty. You can even get eggs with your burger! Very unique. Never had a katsu burger before and I like it! Crispy outside and moist inside. I loved the nori fries, however, I wished they were more crispy because they felt like they had possibly sat out for a bit. MILKSHAKES ARE A MUST! Their kinako and black sesame milkshake tastes like a chocolate chip milkshake with pieces of black sesame instead of chocolate. Also, their matcha milkshake is quite good.

I got the Godzilla Burger and subbed the meat out with tofu. The tofu was excellently prepared, some of the best I have ever had. The rest of the burger and the bun was just average. The dipping sauces are great! We got Nori fries with Nori mayo. The fries were average or below average; limp, undercooked and flavorless. The service here is OK. I didnt receive great service, but my friend and I ordered separately and it seemed like the girl who she ordered with was very helpful. Lastly, everything was overpriced. Yes, my burger was very big, but the burger alone cost about $12. I wouldnt recommend this place. It wasnt bad, but isnt anything special either -- especially for the prices.

Tiny and unassuming but packing some huge delicious burgers. The panko-breaded patties arent like anything else Ive ever had, definitely a revelation in the burger world. While I went with a traditional beef patty I like that the proteins can be swapped out (beef, chicken, pork, or tofu) at no additional cost so theres always something different to try combination-wise. The fries come with a choice of seasonings, I went with the curry and a side of miso honey mustard dipping sauce. Ill definitely be returning many times for the great food and service.

Really good burgers and fries. Ive enjoyed every different burger Ive tried. I want to give them the solid five stars they deserve. But that music... Oh gawd, that music is the worst. Always so bad! Not sure if its the radio station or the volume or what but it sucks. I know you cant please everyone but daaaaaaamn........ And ads, too? Ugh at least have your own albums or use one the many, capable AI streaming services. The remodel looks good! I dont get the table layout but Im sure theres a reason. Peace...

Katsu Burger feels that they can pay actors with "exposure" in their commercials, rather than cash. If youre a freelance artistic professional, no need to bring money into Katsu Burger. Order the food and grab it from the counter before paying. Assure them that youll pay them in "exposure" by telling everyone how enjoyable - or not - your free meal was. Feel free to pull down your pants and pay in "exposure" that way, too. Thanks Katsu Burger!!

In-n-Out imitation and almost twice the price but so delish! its a small corner place, with sitting outside; nothing is indoor other than their grill and register. food is good but i felt like my burger was missing something, like hot sauce or a stronger taste of the thousand island spread. Overall, pretty good. I think its a place id go once or twice just for the sake of going, but not something i would go out of my way to eat.
