I routinely have dim sum in the seattle and bellevue areas since 1991 - im from back east and i believe that i know what good asian food is all about - ive been to house of hong several times in the past two years, and i have found the dim sum to have been very good to excellent with not so usual dishes like peking duck, honey walnut prawns, and salt and pepper squid/prawns served in smaller than entre size portions - there was no wait, even on the weekend because the restaurant is very large - the service was very good to excellent and it seemed like the wait staff wanted to please quickly - parking was very tight as always, so i opted for a very cheap adjacent lot - highly recommended - it reminded me of the closed seattle location of top gun . . .

I tried to do a half star. Ive been going to house of hong for over 30 years. Over the last 5 years the food just havent been the same and when I pick up food barley anyone is in there , now I know why. I will not be back!! No longer have Hunan beef, today i ordered sweet & Sour prawns which is the normal for us it is now frozen dried shrimp which was more frozen breading than meat and only about 10, and had nerve to raise the price to $15.00. Food was just horrible, very disappointing, I thought they were the last original good Chinese Restaurant left in China Town. Telling you folks save your money.

If you want good dim sum, dont come here. My family used to eat a lot of dim sum in the international district and ate at House of Hong a few times. My mother and I returned for dim sum today and were very very disappointed. We had the shrimp in eggplant, duck, (general tsos?) chicken, turnip cake, and greens, and ate very little of any of it. Of everything, the chicken was by far the best, and every piece had a bone or gristle in it. Sadly, House of Hong has slipped terribly, so if youre looking to find the good dim sum of the old days, look elsewhere.

The only thing decent about this restaurant is the service. However, If you want to eat actual food, I recommend another restaurants. Otherwise, you can stay and eat dim sum with pieces of steel wool in it. This restaurant is absolutely disgusting. In the first place, finding steel wool on the plate seems feasible, but how did they get inside a dim sum piece. There is absolutely no quality check and the food is not safe to eat. I will never come here again. If I can give negative stars, I would. But I have to give one star. You are warned!

Decent dim sum but it doesnt matter if all the servers are rude. On my last trip the server looked at the receipt as my table was preparing to leave. Typically I leave a cash tip even if I pay with card. Fearing my $7 cash tip on a $50 tab wasnt enough, I put an extra $2 on the receipt. The server thought she was only getting $2 and commented "wow you leave bad tip" and ran off to tell the other servers how bad the tip was. Needless to say, I was appalled by this and took back the $7 she didnt see. Never coming here again.

We went here on a very slow Monday evening and received excellent the service and above average food. The hot and sour soup was the best Ive had in Seattle. The Mongolian beef was on the sweet side and lacked any spice which was a bit unfortunate, but it was very well cooked and tender. The pork with cabbage was delicious, had some heat to it, and great textures. Well definitely have to come back for dim sum to check it out.

I just visited House of Hong for the first time for dim sum today. I do not see where these negative reviews came from. I thought the service was prompt and friendly, the food was delicious, and the place appeared clean. My girlfriend and I will definitely be returning. Rating of 5 stars was given to boost their overall rating. I would give House of Hong 4 stars (above average).

We go there frequently for weekend morning dim sum. Its good! Service is good. Once we went for dinner and it was awesome. At dim sum, we usually order some to take home. This morning I am drinking their house blend tea -- we bought a canister of it to take home. We love to eat dim sum all over Seattle, yet we keep going back there. It does help that they have parking!

The dim sum is good but the tofu is very salty. I ordered the tofu without pork, because I cannot eat it at all. The man returned with another plate, but my mom found a piece in her serving. She went to the front to go tell them, and one of the waitresses stared at her. If you want good service from them, intend to buy drinks! Terrible attitude.

Excellent dimsum! I finally found "my dimsum" restaurant in Seattle. Very courteous staff, dimsum carts constantly moving (so its never a dull feast). Its downtown so parking horrors come to mind BUT, a lot is situated right in front! Its paid parking but relatively cheap. Street parking, also paid, is available...if you can find a spot.

I came for the dim sum with two guests, avoiding the long lines at the other dim sum restaurants. Although the service is excellent, the food is average. The pork dumplings contain A LOT of chunky fat & the slice barbecue pork is sandpaper dry. This was my 2nd time here and I doubt therell be a 3rd.

Dim sum choices were plentiful. Nice efficient staff comes around with several carts as expected. Xialongbao sells put quickly before noon. Really convenient parking lots and also close to a $2 day lot under the highway. Great for quick bites and groups. Fast service. No wait on a Sunday.

I love this place. Very friendly staff, free parking and the parking guy greeted us like returning family. The carts are well stocked and the servers are very attentive. Weekday lunch specials are a true bargain, and to be able to supplement with Dim Sum, makes it just fabulous.

This place used to be my favorite Dim Sum in Seattle....about ten years ago. Today we went and felt so uncomfortable. The service was awful and I will not be returning. This will be the last time I "Kari Out" (misspelling on take out boxes) from this restaurant.

Solid dim sum, not phenomenal, but very good. I hope it would be a bit less oily. Free parking is always a plus. This place has been a staple in the ID for a long time, and it recently reverted back to its original owners. The service is good.

This place is amazing! I come down to here every couple of months with some friends for the dim sum, and its always an excellent experience. Dont forget to use the chili paste condiment. It elevates most of the dishes.

Decent/mediocre Chinese Dim Sum restaurant. This place has been here forever. I used to come here a lot with my family when I was younger, but the quality went downhill and we opted for better Dim Sum options.

Regardless of other reviews, I grew up loving this place. Id come here every weekend for dim sum if I could. I have a lot of fond memories here. 5 stars for me. Please judge based on your own experience.
