This place is the real deal. The sandwich shop to be at in the north end. After driving by this place for years and hearing about how good it was, we finally made it in. Why did I not visit sooner? The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is laid back. All the ingredients in the sandwich are made to order so expect to wait unless you call it in. The prices seem high but the portions are large. Enough for two people. We split 3 sandwiches among 5 people. The catfish was the tastiest. Moist and flavorful. The Goomba was good. The Dipper was on the dry and tough side. I would stick with their popular items (meatball and sausage variants) which we will try next time. Sandwiches are around $10 and worth it. Service is good as it is order at the counter establishment. I would recommend that you give it a try.

Wao wao. These sandwiches are HUGE. I didnt know whether I shouldve stuffed my face in the giant sandwich or use the fork and knife. I was only able to eat half of my meatball sandwich. However, it was good! The meatballs had a little bit of spice to it, which added excitement. My s.o. got the chicken pesto sandwich and fell in love with it. Ha-ha. Prices are pretty good for the size. Meatball: 10.95 Chicken Pesto: 11.95 House Salad: 6.95 Service was okay-ish. We had to ask for the fork multiple times. Cute "little" sandwich shop to check out if youre in the area. I bet when the restaurant is busy, parking might be a bit iffy, but thats okay! Theres more parking a few feet from it, so never fear! Youll get your hot sammiches soon. :)

Baked sandwiches like nothing else. Perfect cuts of meat, beautifully sautéed veggies, cheese melted over amazing bread... Weve been here five times so far, tried something different every time, and never been disappointed. The restaurant is spacious, well lit, mellow, with a background of Jazz, blues, and the like (sometimes live!). The service is excellent and friendly. The drink selections (both alcoholic or otherwise) are wide and local. Most importantly, the food is freshly cooked in front of you at the open kitchen. Plates are huge and generous. Flavors are smart and strong. I just love Grinders.

Went here thinking its be like a quiznos, or jimmy Johns. I was pleasantly surprised when it was not. Nice dine in decor, and being greeted by the owner as we parked. Definitely a great dine in experience, and the staff and owner recommendations are spot on. I find myself thinking of Italian meats after my visit, having the Ciabatta. The po boys were another solid recommendation with catfish or shrimp. Wife had the whack whack salad, their take on the chop chop salad. Still thinking of the amazing flavor with all of those meats in my sandwich.

The atmosphere is very chill, with lovely wood accents everywhere. The sandwich I ordered was a Red Eye Ham. Red eye gravy is something that is usually found only in some Atlanta neighborhoods--its a very obscure Southern specialty. Its gravy made from beef drippings and *coffee*. Coffee, people. Its incredible. The sandwich was absolutely perfect. Revolutionary, even. Seriously. The bread pudding that followed was also exquisite. Just go there and enjoy life for a little while.

Place definitely has very good sandwiches/grinders! The Gilbano, their version of the Philly Cheesesteak, was in top 2-3 Ive ever had, even better than the over-hyped joints in Philly, which Ive also tried! Portions are pretty good size; filling but not so massive that you leave uncomfortably stuffed! Place was clean; the bathrooms are clean as well. Service a bit slow considering business was steady but not packed. Would definitely go again when in the area!

Have been a patron since they first opened. My daughter was only a month old. Enjoyed the personal service from the owner and his wife and Grandmas fantastic bread pudding, she actually served it to us. Great times in the early days. Grinders has found great success and am happy for them. Moving to Oregon tomorrow and will miss the restaurant, top notch. Bob, Hilary, and Brooklyn (now almost twelve). Thanks for the really good food and friendship early on!

Incredible sandwiches, relaxing atmosphere. Ive been going to this place for many years. They always have blues playing in the background with occasional live music on Saturdays. My favorite sandwiches are the Red Eye Ham (the brandy, jus, coffee gravy is unbelievably good) and the Ciabatta (usually only eat half and get the other half to go). The bread pudding is a nice finisher to share, but dont get it to go (complicated assembly).

I have been going to Grinders for two years now. Ive tried at least 6 different ones and all are excellent. My personal favorite is the Giradino Grinder. I highly recommend this place. Prices are decent, around $10 per sandwich. The serving sizes are HUGE! My husband and I often split one sandwich. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is fun. I have yet to find a sandwich place that can match the quality that Grinders provides.

I would give 5 stars, but the staff is just ok. They took a phone order for me, I went all the way over to pick up my order and they forgot to enter it. They told me it would take 20 minutes to get it ready. Pretty frustrating, they didnt offer to get my order to the front of the queue or offer a discount. I left feeling undervalued as a customer and frustrated by the lack of personal accountability on the part of the staff.

Yum. Such yum. All the yum. I came with a handful of friends, and none of us could decide what to get. Eventually, we each got something different, traded bites around, and decided that any sandwich wouldve been a good decision. Soup was also delicious. Added bonus, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Would recommend to others.

Unglaublich... der beste Italiener, Familienbetrieb, selbstgemachtes Essen und Superservice. Sehr freundliche Leute, von außen eher unscheinbar... dafür innen umso besser.

The food and decor here is most excellent! Love the menu. I really wish all the sandwiches on the menu were actually grinders though. I was excited to try a French dip grinder & it came out completely different than imagined. Good but not what I expected. My boyfriends sandwich came out as a grinder though. Go figure!

What can I say that hasnt already been said about this place, its great! The food is excellent, the staff are great, and the fact that they have live music on Saturday nights is a really nice touch. If you havent already eaten here you should, you will not be disappointed. CAUTION: THESE SANDWICHES ARE ADDICTING!!!

Sandwiches here were pretty dang big! Definitely worth the price and making a stop here if youre in the neighborhood. Great that they have a selection of soda, wine, and beer. Apparently they have live music some nights as well. Its a fun place to bring a few friends and share one of their big communal tables.

At this point Ive tried 7 different sandwiches at grinders and all of them have been fantastic. Special accolades go to The Shrimp Po Boy and The Tuscan. Prices are in the $13 range for a large 10 sub. Only one person in our party of five finished their sandwich and the rest are very excited for the leftovers.
