I genuinely hope that this is not the best burger place on The Ave. If that is the case, I may never again go there to seek out a burger. I ordered the Hawaiian Burger and substituted for their veggie patty. The burger was quite soggy and not very flavorful. The fries were okay, but the ranch sauce was absolutely horrid. It was extremely tangy and more like a white teriyaki sauce in flavor. The menu seemed extremely reasonable in price, until everything was added up. With a small tip, I spent $14 for a burger, fries and shake. The only thing that made the trip worth it was the Oreo milkshake, which was great. I cant honestly recommend this place to any at this time.

All my friends were in the mood for noodles across the street and I wasnt. The sign outside"handmade burgers" caught my eye. So, I had to try it out. I asked what the most popular burger was and they said California Burger. Oh my Gosh! It was definitely sooo delicious! It is now my MOST favorite burger place in all of Seattle! The beef was juicy, the buns were soft, the overall flavor was amazing! I came back the next day with a friend and ordered a double stack Cali. People were definitely nice and the service was quick even as they were cooking and prepping it in front of me. I love this place!

I came to Seattle in October, and this is my favorite place to get a burger. So far Ive tried the teriyaki, cowboy, UW, Mushroom, and Cali Burger, and theyve all got their own unique flavor. My favorite is probably either the mushroom or teriyaki burger. The staff is always cool, theres plenty varieties to choose from and try, and theyve got a great milkshake! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good burger! :)

I had the cod & chips. The fish was cooked pretty well. the fries were not. The worst part was the tartar sauce, which was very sweet and not thick at all. Not worth eating. You do get a lot of food though, so you get your moneys worth fill wise. Also had a shake, which was fine, but way to expensive for what you got quality wise. I will say, if I come back I will be curious to try the burgers, which looked pretty good.

Best Burger in Seattle, hands down. Been to burger joints across this great US of A and this place is amazing. Everyone in this area I have directed to this place has made this place their burger destination. In fact I am chomping down on their bacon cheeseburger!! Cant beat the price $6.59! Not a fan of any other burger joint on the Ave. Dont listen to the negative reviews.

Ej burger is our favorite burger place when we are in u district. Food is delicious and the price is very reasonable. I would recommend splitting fries with your friends or significant other. Dont plan on any major activities after eating here you will have a definite food coma. Pros: lots of food Well cook Cheap Cons busy Burgers are messy

Poor value and mediocre taste. Alternatives in the neighbourhood are much better. Fries were not fully cooked. Burger patty was large, but just a steamed mass that is mostly fat. They are generous with the toppings though. For less money and better, go to Burger Place or Cafe on the Ave, both just down the block.

EJs holds a special place in my heart for personal reasons, but I played a fool recently and ordered seafood at EJs and that is why they get a 4 star. Call it a cautionary tale. Their burgers, fries, and shakes are all praise worthy. But the seafood is just not right. More fried than anything.

Mediocre burgers for the price. I would much rather eat the Dicks gut bomb. The service was terrible, they forgot tons of our fries and two burgers. Wasnt worth it to go back and rectify, even for the high price due to how they acted on the phone. Ill never go back here.

Great college town burger place. They all greet you when you walk in the door, even if theyre doing something else. Burgers are really good, come with all the extras. The guys hand make the patties right there at the counter. Old school quality at college town prices.

The fish and chips was ok, but not great. The fish had obviously been frozen, and was somewhat rubbery. A few spots were downright hard. For the price it was good, but Im surprised they advertise it on the sign. Id stick to the great fresh burgers and fries.

Bring wipes! The burgers here are excellent and juicy, but their napkins are just a paper towel dispenser. Any amount of napkins, however, will still leave you feeling sticky, unless you have discovered how to eat a burger without getting messy.

I brought a friend who had never been here before and he said "sometimes I wonder how someone can make a burger better, and they did it." I agree 100%. I hit this place up every time Im in town and am never disappointed. Best burger.

This is a solid place with very good burgers. I love coming here with friends. The milkshakes are great too, but I havent found them to be particularly outstanding. The burgers are clearly the highlight here.

I usually dont give reviews but I recently started working over here and I must say this is the BEST burger place Ive been to since moving to Seattle 18 years ago. WHAT IS IN THE SAUCE??? I love it!

Nothing special. Compared to other burger joints in the area, I would pick this over them. A large list of different burgers to choose from as well as options to sub chicken or veggie options, etc.

. The burgers tend to fall apart and get messy, but if youre into that then this place is perfect for you! Otherwise, Mr. Lus might be better (though its a bit further away from campus!)

Seeing a show a block away at the Neptune theatre and stopped in, only $6 for a burger that was way larger than expected and had a delicious sweet special sauce, would highly recommend

Best burgers in the UD when youre trying to splurge a bit... Dicks is good for the price. But a solid California Burger and a coffee shake is sometimes well deserved.

Good American food, something hard to find on the Ave. The burger choices are great, and they are very consistent in how they make them.

The cod fish and chips was amazing, fish pieces huge! The bathroom is a little dark, but it is the U district. Friendly staff.

I know hamburgers and this is the best burger place in Seattle. There is nothing Ive tried on the menu that I have not liked.
