I just went to The Junction Diner this morning for breakfast. Darryl & Jody of Birds Eye View B&B recommended it, and they were right. My father-in-law & aunt & I all loved it. Heres why: 1. Portions are huge. The pancakes in particular were so big they nearly eclipsed the plate they were served on. Any bigger and the syrup would run right off onto the table. For a child, Id dig a crater in the center to keep the syrup contained. My ONE sausage patty would have intimidated the largest burger patty, guaranteed. (and I had thought they were skimping when I asked for a small side order of sausage and the waitress clarified "okay, thats ONE sausage on the side: link or patty?") 2. Prices are small. Sure, we spent $32 for the three of us, but we took away a third of that food in a to-go box! If wed had the breakfast special (a HALF-order of any "classic" Diner breakfast) for $4.95 instead of a Denver omelet, a side of sausage, and two full-size Classics, wed all have been stuffed for maybe $23 including a good tip. Even cheaper if you just drink tap water-- and up here, the tap water tastes great. 3. Service is good, and pretty fast. It is also informal. This is a DINER. It is not a slick fast-food microfactory like Chipotle or McDonalds, nor a cafeteria-style place where the food was made hours ago and just kept warm all day till you eat it. Nor is this an upscale restaurant with well-mannered and formally trained service staff. Its a young local girl who is quick at the register and knows the menu well. She can get overwhelmed when a bunch of people walk in at once (which happened soon after we arrived), but sit down & relax, you wont have to wait long. 4. "Ambiance" is American-Diner Casual. The place is clean and shipshape but doesnt seem to have any intentional "decor" like some diners do: no 50s kitsch, no country ducks, no trucker paraphernalia or logging-camp or miner schwag. Its too small to fit a lot of decor anyway: there are only 3 tables and a lot of bar stools at the L-shaped bar. But the waitress was cheerful and the other patrons were friendly with each other and with us. It seems to be a favorite local nosh spot. If I lived anywhere nearby, it would be one of my favorite places for breakfast (they serve lunch too but not dinner), but not to just hang out-- Id feel I was hogging a table or a barstool, and I dont think they have free wifi. (Someone correct me if Im wrong.) On the other hand, it really is a comfy place to sit and linger over breakfast, read the morning paper (youll find one left behind at the bar), and chat. You could order, eat & leave in less than 30 minutes (if you order something small), but why hurry? The small-town diner vibe will refresh you if you let it.

Ive lived in Poulsbo for a little under a year now. I moved here from Wyoming, where there was a nice little family diner in town, and I was looking for something to replace that here. This is now my new favorite place to eat. The food is simple, yet delicious. And cheap! I made the mistake of getting the Lumberjack Omelet my first time there, and I wound up taking half of it home to finish later. The portions are huge. The food is delicious. The people are friendly. If youre looking for a good place for breakfast or lunch, look no further. The only real con of this place, is there is very limited seating. There are maybe 13 bar stools, and only 3 four-person tables. It still wasnt an issue, though.

Very small place. I wouldnt have stayed because i dont like sitting very close to people while theyre smacking in my ear and were bumping elbows, but my friend insisted... food was fair, fair price, cute cook, nice staff, except when our waitress basically dropped our silverware in front of us... and the she just sat my toast/plate on top of other things, wouldnt bring us our bill, the customer she kept showing her pix to, noticed and told her weve been waiting for it, to which she joked and said shes busy... she not once checked on us or refilled our drinks. Not professional. Not my kind of place. If youre social and dont mind people in your space, this is the place.

Very homey Small Town Diner atmosphere with delicious food and engaging people at the bar. The corned beef hash was pure awesomeness, filling but not overwhelming. The guys next to me were getting the chicken-fried steak and they recommended it as well. The eggs Benedict was very pleasing to the other lady next to me. Despite the fairly plain exterior the smiles and the conversations were worth it and the freshly prepared food and coffee was delicious. I sat at the bar and was rewarded for my bravery by two great conversations with other locals as well as the owner. Highly recommend and if you have your feet available there are two parks nearby for exploring.

Ive been coming here every Saturday with my dad since I was 10. Im 27 now. It still holds the family hometown charm that I love about poulsbo. Ashely is awesome as long as youre not afraid to speak up when you need something or want your check. She wont hover and will only bite if youre rude or possibly ask her nicely. I always recommend the junction to visiting friends and family.

Food was pretty good. Home-style cooking, the staff was definitely family oriented. Though the service was mediocre at best. Sheilas resturant was better in my honest opinion when they were open. And I have lived here for the years now.

Food was solid for a fair price. Loved the logger omlette. Kids pancake with egg and sausage (or bacon) for $4 bucks was fantastic. Pancakes super tasty, and I love the thin hash browns with a crispy side.

The corned beef hash was canned, the hash browns dehydrated, the gravy and chicken-fried steam frozen, literally the only fresh ingredient was eggs. Avoid at all costs.
