Short version- service is slow and inattentive. Food is overpriced and lackluster. Long Version- Used to be one of our favorite breakfast places. The service has always sucked- really inattentive wait staff who think theyre at a coffee shop not a restaurant- but you could get over that because the food was great and the prices reasonable. My husband would get a monte cristo sandwich and not be able to finish the whole thing. However, this last trip the sandwich was little more than a slice of lunch meat and some cheese; definitely not worth the $11 price tag. Although we were the only ones in the restaurant and there were at least three waitresses, our drinks were never refilled. The milk container for the cream was chipped and the table was sticky. Our waitress never bothered to ask if everything was okay or even to check back in with us. We only saw her when she dropped off the check. The check was insanely high- given that their menu states that breakfast sandwiches a la carte are $2 off the list price. We did not get that discount. As my husband was paying the bill, the waitress asked if he wanted to join the rewards program. He mentioned that the trip was not good and we wouldnt be back. She did not bat an eye, ask why was wrong, or ask how she could make it better. She simply completed the transaction and went back to gossiping with the waitstaff. Really depressing trip as we used to love this place.

I love luxe and their food, untill today. I wanted to share this hidden treasure with my mom and sister on mothers day. So earlier in the week I called to see if they did reservations, they said they didnt so we decided we would go and wait on Sunday. I showed up today and asked if they had seating the hostess told me " they were booked with reservations all day but I could wait" umm okay. I let it slide and gave her my name a number to call when the table was ready. I asked how long it would be approximately and she said " I have no idea there is 2 people in front of you" so we walked up to the nearest bar and got a drink. I got a call 15 minutes after I left luxe saying they had a table.... So I asked if they could let the next person go and call when there was another table. The lady plainly said" its first come first serve so you have to come now." To say the least Im very disappointed and will take my business somewhere else. So sad that the hostess didnt have better customer service.

I work in the building where Luxe is located and Ive been there many times. While the food "looks" great, the quality is not and the pricing is way over-priced for the area. Many times they have served me "warm" pita bread only to get to my desk and the pita is like hardtac. Im not a big fan of stale pita bread that has been heated up. I have been in fear of my dental work several times. Ive also gone in there a few times for breakfast for a breakfast bagel sandwich only to be presented with a microwaved bagel that turns slimy. (I only assume its microwaved because of the condition its in). Today was the last straw. I went in to see if I could purchase a side order of jalapeno ranch dressing and was told they couldnt do it. Normally this wouldnt have been a big deal had it not been for my previous experiences. I will not be coming back.

This would be a 5 star review if they could keep ingredients in Stock. We have been 3 times and every time weve had to go with a backup meal. All that said, the staff and service are great, the prices are 7 stars and the food is delicious. For brunch go with the deluxe bloody Mary! And endless mimosas, absolutely delicious for brunch! Edit: 5 months later and Ive downgraded this to 2 stars. Weve been back twice and have yet to have a good experience. This time we had reservations for a specific table since we were taking our daughter out for special breakfast. When we get there, of course our table isnt ready. This will be the last time back, too many other great options in downtown Vancouver.

I too work in the building where Luxe is located, and LOVE their food and fabulous service. I have a breakfast sandwich or quiche daily, and they are always VERY yummy! Their lunch salads are fabulous and any other items I have tried have always been good. Katie up front always gives delightful customer service, even when they are very very busy. She and all the staff always remember your name and your preferences. The staff works very hard and the owners strive to always present great customer service and a terrific dining experience. And dont miss baker Jenasis incredible desserts - YUM! These are the hardest working and nicest owners and staff that Ive ever met.

Came for brunch. Waitress was nice but possibly overwhelmed? Got our food before silverware, had several mistakes with the bill (who had what and who was paying for what), but very nice lady. Food was disappointingly subpar. We had a group for brunch, huevos rancheros were bland, eggs were dry and overcooked (I think runny yolk when I think huevos rancheros), rice was hard, eggs on our burgers were overcooked even though they were ordered over medium. Burger was overcooked and bacon was bland (which is a feat, because bacon itself is very flavorful). Would not go back, wont even bother with leftovers because Id rather just have something from the freezer.

Not a good experience. The staff was nice, but the food was poor quality. We ordered crab cakes, and the only thing we could taste was oregano- we were literally chewing on oregano- it was almost as if the top fell off of the oregano bottle during preparation and they tried to save the dish instead of starting over. My daughter ordered pizza and the middle was cool and doughy- we went for brunch, and the brunch menu is extremely minimal. Maybe we caught the place on a bad day, but for all 4 of our dishes to have flaws so significantly that none of us took more than a couple of bites, I feel that 1 star is fair.

First off I am a foodie and I am picky. So. Am sorry but I am harsh in my reviews...... Disappointing on a few levels I am sad to say. The desert was NOT good. Pecan pie is something I love (got that from my mom and dad) The crust was chewy and the inside was gelatinous to a point of Jell-O. But I must say the bloody Mary was excellent. The service needs some work (food mix-ups, forgetting requests, etc.) However the waitress was very sweet and tried her best. Three visitors in my party, two adults one child. Saturday at 2pm Two XO burgers and one ciabatta chicken sandwich.

Went here to celebrate my birthday lunch a few weeks ago, came back to write a review. The waitstaff was very nice and accommodating and seemed knowledgable about the menu. The atmosphere here is very modern and decorated tastefully. We went in at around noon and it was not too crowded. You get what you pay for, which is good because the food was very yummy with decent serving sizes. My only gripe would be the menu, which was printed on cardstock it seemed like and kind of beat up.
