Had a pretty good experience the first time we ate at Red Onion. I got the Triple By Pass which was great, I took pictures and told everyone I knew to eat there. The second time we ate there I couldnt tell if the burger was good or not; it was soggy and ice cold..... The story begins with us being invited to Red Onion for a fundraiser; we had to travel north from Kent for about an hour in crazy Seattle traffic but we were insistent that we needed to make it to the fundraiser, so we kept on truckin. We even picked up two friends along the way to help the fundraising cause and to show them an amazing burger. After fighting through two accidents along I-5 north we pulled in at around 7:10pm and checked in, the place is already full but were willing to wait. The closing time is 8:00pm so plenty of time to eat. Wed already waited 15 minutes for a seat which was just fine, but at 7:25pm the waitress manning the hostess podium notifies me that "The kitchen closes to Dine-In at 7:30pm and even though people are leaving, there wont be time for you to look over the menu and order before we stop taking orders." I say "Ok, how about we take a look at the menu now, so as soon as that table there is bussed we can order." She says "There probably wont be time for that. You should just get it to go." I say "Well we just drove an hour to get here for the fundraiser, I really wouldnt want to eat in the car. Could we place an order right now, then you can seat us and serve us with plenty of time." She replies with, "No that wont work because we need to have all the customers gone and the whole restaurant cleaned up and heading home at 8:00pm exactly." So I replied with, "How about we place a to go order and we take a seat when one is clear and well bus our own table. You wont even have to serve us." She replied with "No you cant do that. If you place a to go order you cant sit at a table." Im a VERY calm person, I am very easy going to the point where Im a push over and tend to get walked on. However I just gave her 3 perfectly good solutions and she shot me down for all of them. So I swallowed my pride and we placed a to go order. I sat angrily at a CLEANED table quietly fuming waiting for my name to be called. Our food came out at 7:40!!! 20 minutes prior to the "doors locked" closing time. I told my friends "Screw this. Im eating right here." They said, "No, lets not cause any trouble. Lets just go." So I left with my food. We ended up driving 20 minutes to a nearby friends house and we all ate our cold burgers. All because a waitress wouldnt even let her customer sit down. Screw this place. Im never eating there again. Horrible customer service. Cold food. I even waited a full month to write this review because I wanted to cool down. But I was totally slighted by her. I wish I just gave cash directly to the fundraiser. This company didnt deserve any of my money.

The worst meal Ive had in many years!!! I should imagine it from the moment I enter the premises the owner was not at all friendly The place was almost empty after 5 minutes I approached to ask that we wanted to drink I wanted coffee my sister also and my daughter water passed another 10 minutes before she brought The cafe and brought us 2 small containers of plastic with cream for the coffee and that was not enough I stopped and asked for more and proceeded to give me a childrens plastic cup with a little more in that moment I should have left But my daughter was hungry so i order breakfast it was eggs with onion and mushroom peppers with ham and cheese potatoes and I asked her no onions when arrived it was a plate full of grease and without peppers or mushrooms and i have to tell her that I did not have the Vegetables she responds to me because you did not want the onions we assume that you didnt wanted the other thing which seems crazy to me, my sister asked the chicken with waffles and when lifting the waffle was full of oil as if it They would have fried the truth is that she never came to ask how was the food or if we needed something ,the only thing OK was the chicken burger of my daughter the truth is that in 25 years living in WA never had so horrible service and so unpleasant Food I honestly would never recommend this place nor my worst enemy because we all deserve a decent meal and not what I got and I had to pay.

A good friend lives near this restaurant and wed stop by every couple of months, enjoying great meals and friendly service. Except tonight. I ordered the Philly Cheese Burger, but our server (who I now see from their website is one of the founders!) apparently misheard me and wrote down the Chili Chili Bang Bang. An honest mistake - no big deal. If shed repeated the order back to us, Id have caught it, but she didnt. When the food was ready, she set the plates down and walked away quickly. No, "Is there anything else you need?" It wasnt even really busy. I realized right away that I had the wrong burger so I went up to the counter - had to shout several times to get her attention - she was chatting with someone - and when I said (nicely!) that I was supposed to get the Philly Cheese, she didnt apologize, just said "I heard Chili." My replacement burger appeared suspiciously quickly and was *really* pink inside. I ate around the edges... we were heading out to a performance and didnt want to be late and her manner was so rude that I didnt want to have to deal with her again. One poor encounter can happen anywhere... but when its the owner who provides such bad service, thats another story. We will not be going back, not when there are other, better choices around.

Terrible. The bun was tasty, the bacon was tasty, and thats it. The hamburger patty was dry as a bone, and cold. It couldnt even melt the shredded cheddar they put on top of it. The fries were cold, though they tasted good. Also, the fries had a hair in them. Apparently the cooks dont wear hair nets. My guess is that they dont cook food per order, because thats the only way my food could possibly have been that cold. For how expensive it is, Id expect my food to at least be hot. The waitress offered me free ice cream, but I refused. I didnt even tell her about the hair. Burgers dont seem to be seasoned at all either. The patty had no flavor, no juices, no heat, no seasoning. All around terrible. Id rather go to Jack In The Box, because at least there I know what Im up against. If youre in MLT and want quality burgers (and are willing to pay a premium) I suggest going down the road to 196th and getting Daves Burgers. Side note: The woman who brought me my food was carrying a baby. Seriously. I will not be going back there. At least not for a VERY long time.
