Don’t let the outside of the Lake Forest Bar & Grill, with its plain and quite unattractive exterior, deter you from checking it out. When you first walk in you will be amazed at how incredibly clean and modern the place is. You are greeted with a smile, and brought to your seat by the hostess. During happy hour, the menu is full of great deals ranging from a $5.99 burger and fries to a $2.99 Caesar salad. The full bar has about 8 beers on tap with 2 featured brews for $3.99 a pint. Well drinks and specialty cocktails range in price from $3.99 to $4.99. The service was outstanding for a larger restaurant, but this experience could change in the busier hours. In addition to the modern interior, the dim lighting sets a great atmosphere for chatting with friends over drinks. The five LCD TV’s, displaying sports, were placed perfectly as to not distract from conversation, but were great to glance at while eating. Quiet music emanates from the bar and washes out the idle noise of dishes and the other guests, which is always a plus. All of these small things add up to create an amazing experience that most Bar & Grills are unable to achieve. If you are thinking about checking out Lake Forest Bar & Grill, you may want to consider coming in on one of the following “Special days”: Tuesdays: Kids Eat Free Wednesdays: $5.00 steak and fries / $4.00 glasses of featured wine Saturday and Sunday: $5.95 breakfasts The only problems that I encountered at the Lake Forest Bar & Grill was first, the fact that they don’t give you the bottle of ketchup, only small cups upon request; and second, when in a large group the waiter does not split checks. Though these are only small problems, they do slightly taint the experience. The Lake Forest Bar & Grill deserves a solid A for their overall ability to create an inviting atmosphere through both friendly service and great food.

Usually like this place. Usually perhaps a 3-4 star rating. Today svc sucked which is 35% of the time in the late evening sometimes, depending on whos working. Waited 11 minutes to be seated alone at 944pm when no ones here but one couple with 2 friends at the bar shipping, totalling 4 people in the whole entire restaurant. Bar server was working by himself cleaning up and managing tables by himself with out help. Place closes at 11pm, in 1 hour and 16 min so the wait by myself was 15 more minutes then he sits me & takes my order when I sit at 10:01pm 59 minutes before closing, because by now I know what I want from being bored and reading the stack of menus sitting there. 1 beer & 1 order appetiser later, & 21 minutes later my beer and burnt badly shrimp shows up from the cool Waiter trying to do his best with out any help. Wait another 16 minutes til server notices my burned appetiser because he is overwhelmed from dealing with 4 drunk peeps at the bar. Server says kitchen closed 24 minutes before restaurant closes but offers to credit shrimp and offers to credit 2nd beer I ordered 16 minutes ago. 24 minutes later server shows up with 2nd beer and free fresh not burned appetiser hense 3 star instead of 2 star 1 hour after I show up with one but one small group of 4 in the whole restaurant. Now Im full with appetiser & 2 beers, and entertainment from 4 drunks that an over worked server is trying to deal with & a $14 bill, good times lol. Tippedbthe guy $5. Wish I could get it 4 or 5 stars but service is EeeeeHhh......... Food also last few times was also EeeeeHhhhh.......

Each of us ordered a drink - instead of bringing each of us the right drink, they brought 2 of the same. Had to correct that. Waited 45 minutes for soup and salad, which was served before the appetizers. Waited another 20 minutes for appetizer and one entrée. Had to reorder the second because they forgot and did not order it. Yes, over one hour for nachos. We gave the credit card to the server and did not see her for 13 minutes. We finally grabbed a nearby busser and asked him to find the server. The food was OK, but the service was abysmal. We normally tip 23-25%, but this was less than 5%. Never will go there again.

We were there on a Friday at dinner time and there was a 40 minute wait. Went to 3rd place books for a while. That was nice. Came back, got seated, blinked our eyes and our food was there. Dont know how THAT happened... But heres what I know - I got the roasted turkey and that was the best "Thanksgiving meal" Ive ever eaten. The Turkey was PERFECT. Juicy and tender and there was lots of it. The stuffing AWESOME and the mashed potatoes were DELICIOUS. Im ready for a re-run.

I really like going to this place. The service is always good, out orders are never messed up. Ive tried three cod its delicious. Ive also had the checked and waffles which is a big meal, but also really good. The happy hour isnt bad... Only a dollar off drafts which isnt bad but obviously not the best. The must have when you go in the nav and cheese balls. EAT THEM!! One of my pictures is off take out of the checked and waffles... Like I said so much food.

We eat here about once a week. I can always find something on the menu I like. They have healthy options and less healthy options. My kids also enjoy eating here. My gluten and dairy free daughter has a couple of meals she can choose from here - the salmon (sub fries) and the steak (make sure to ask for it without the butter they put on top). The specials are tasty and interesting. Im always pleased at the end of my visit.

Consistently underwhelming. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is lovely but the food is rather disappointing, especially for the price. The flavors are always a bit off. The fries are never hot. They try to put a fancy twist on most dishes (pickled purple onions or deep fried bacon) but they miss the mark. They would do well to perfect the basics and leave their attempts at specialty garnishes off the menu.

Extremely unprofessional management staff and poor customer service. People were rude and hostile. Felt unsafe to take my family for mothers day celebration. I always take time out to complement but this place is a disaster. I would not go there at all. We go out usually for FSA - Food Service and Ambiance. Pre food service was so bad that I canceled my reservation and cant comment on food or ambiance.

My family and I have been to the Lake Forest Bar and Grill many times and always enjoy ourselves. The food selection is decent (not great), but are very family-friendly (we small children, ages 1,3,4, and 5). Plenty of parking, plus its near Third Place Books and Baskin Robins which makes for a nice post-meal adventure. I am SO glad to have them in the North-end!

Had a great time at this restaurant. The food was healthy and delicious, we were placed in an area where we were free to chat separate from the bar area making our experience very enjoyable. The waiter was very helpful suggesting things to eat and drink from a very diversified menu. This is my new favorite place to eat!
