The building and decor is impressive. Clean bathrooms and friendly service...but the food is practically tasteless. We are vegetarian and moved from Miami and this was a joke. We asked if they had any special hot salsa that was not out of a bottle sitting on the table and she brought back the regular salsa that was served with our chips with hot pepper flakes in it. The cook must be clueless. The food came out borderline warm (unsafe) and he menu said they serve white rice with everything. When I hear white rice, I think Indian or Chinese food. They got everything right except the food. It was tasteless yet really really fresh. If you are timid to Mexican food, indifferent and just want a big portion you will love it. If you want tasty, you are better off cooking at home (even if you have never attempted it before, you will probably do better these guys). The spinach can from can/frozen, but other than that it was seemingly bright colored, fresh food that was utterly tasteless. Fresh, well presented, well supposed cardboard.

My order was lost in a group of 11 people. Mistakes happen, and while I was disappointed the order was lost, I was most upset the way the manager (owner?) handled it. He never returned to the room during the meal to see if everything was in order and okay, and when he finally did, it was after plates were cleared. I asked where my dinner was and he said Id not ordered any. When I repeated what Id ordered to him, he checked his notes and viola, there was my order. Instead of offering to bring it, he simply asked, "Do you want that?" to which I replied, "No thank you". No offer to get it, no offer of any compensation of any kind. Id ordered a drink, which I did receive, and iced tea, which I also received. When the checks were handed to the rest of the group, he handed me a bill for the iced tea! When I spoke with him as I was leaving he simply brushed the whole incident off with "Im sorry, but mistakes happen." I will not go back.

Guys, we all know how these post work. I had a single bad experience at this particular restaurant and now Im publicly vowing never to eat here again. This is partially right. Ive eaten here several times. It has gotten progressively worse. This last time I had what they said was lamb shank, but what I knew to be very old meat, near rotting, that they slow cooked and put seasoning on. Thats Unacceptable. Youll go and make your own decisions. Im just urging you to be careful please. And try not to feed your children that stuff. By the way, the service was beyond poor. The lady barely checked up on my friend and I, didnt ask if the food was decent even after we we were ready to go after barely touching our food and seemed overwhelmed the one time she refilled our glasses. I wont be going back to this. However, there are other Mayans out here.... Ill try one of those.

I go here a lot for lunch with my dad. Lunch special is like $7 and quite filling. The servers are all very friendly, but they have a tendency to over-greet. One time I was greeted a combined 5 times by only 2 people. I had to think long and hard about that one, because it didnt make me feel very memorable. Also I go here at least twice a month, and have been for the past year. Why dont they recognize me? Maybe its me.

Chain-style Tex Mex food, nothing special. In fact, my plate was down right poor: slightly wilted and tiny salad, over cooked meat, bland refried beans not worth eating. Service was slow: after 5 minutes waiting to pay after asking for the check I had to search the building to find someone to pay. Weird.

Happy Hour prices are good, bar service is AWFUL, same waitress everytime we have been there, dont ask for anything beyond you first order, you may or may not get it and it will take forever. The restaurant service is much better. There is nothing special about their food, typical Americanized Mexican.

Out of the two times we have gotten take out from this restaurant (the one on the Yelm Highway), we have been shorted food both times. And in this latest order, there was a black hair embedded in the cheese of my enchilada. We will not be returning. The prices are too steep for the value, as well.

I have been eating at the Mayan for years. We used to have a waitress named Becky who was an amazing and wonderful waitress. The food has been consistently great for a number of years. For anybody looking for the whole authentic Mexican food experience. The Mayan is the place for you.

Tasty food, warm and cheery atmosphere, and cool/fun decor. My only want is for them to make a plate of beans and rice with tortillas (my favorite little lunch meal) a bit less expensive; its not bad, but if I could get that for five or six bucks, Id be here way too often. :D

Terrible service! Maybe 6-7 other people in the bar and we were never offered refills on our beverages until our meal was completed and we waited for our checks. We were completely ignored. The food is delicious, and we intend to go back, just not to this specific location.

Ermagerd!!! Their beef tacos are to die for! They just smothered it in their special white sauce and I licked every drop of it off the plate until it was all gone! Some,evem fell onto my chin, but i ate that too! Will for sure bend over backwards to cum back to this place!!

I went for lunch and had one of the specials offered between 1100 and 1500. Great portions with delicious salsa that wasnt watered down, and the rice and beans were far better than most places. All was amazingly just $7. Highly recommend the lunch specials!

Me and my fiance dine here often and the staff is always amazing. They remember our order and we always receive good service. Its great to come in for a snack or for when youre really hungry. Also the prices arent that bad! We love it here.

Food is greasy and not even close to authentic. By the time I got home with my food, (twenty minutes MAX) it was so soggy I could even pick up the taco to eat it. I had to use a fork. Didnt even taste good. This place is disgusting.

Great food. If you leave here hungry, you just dont like Mexican food because I always get full before my plate is empty and I have a hard time deciding between avoiding pain from eating too much and enjoying just a few more bites.
