Their food is average, but their waitresses are not educated and trained at all. Worst customer service of all. Who would want to eat at a restaurant the waitress pick up your water glass around the lip area? If she cant handle that, what else shes not handling right? Our food? Table? Plates? When we tell her about something, she argues back. We werent asking something so difficult or unreasonable. We felt like it was all jokes until we got a bill that was over charged and had 18% tip added to it. Read on if you want to know why you shouldnt go to Oto Sushi in Kirkland. We had a very disappointing experience at that restaurant today. We had a group of 11 and pre-ordered so restaurants could start preparing the orders before we got there. We do this so we can fit our meal into our hour lunch break. We ordered online, which we have done before, but apparently the manager was not there so the staff had no access to a computer. We gave the order over the phone to the waitress 20 minutes before we would arrive so that the food could be ready when we got there. We arrived on time but 2 of us still had to wait 15 minutes for their meals. We asked for forks but they could only bring us 3 because all the rest were in the wash. Most of us cannot use chopsticks so this made it very difficult to eat. By the end of the meal one person still had no fork and ate her whole meal with a spoon and was unable to eat her salad. I don’t know why they couldn’t grab a few dirty forks and hand wash them for us. This was not the worst of it. The worst part is when they brought our bills everything cost twice as much as the online lunch menu shows. I’m not exaggerating about this. The bento box I ordered should have cost 8.95 but after tax and tip I paid $19. I would have shorted the tip for the bad service but since our group was more than 6 we were obligated to pay 18%. The waitress would not honor the online menu price even though we brought a printout of it with us. She just kept saying we must have printed the Redmond’s menu but it clearly shows we had the Kirkland menu as the address is at the top. The waitress said that because what we ordered was not on the new menu she charged everyone the dinner prices. She did assure us that they would fix the menu online but that doesn’t help our situation. We used to hold our group luncheons here but we won’t be returning to your establishment anymore for sure.

PROS: It was clean. Service was prompt and curteous. Menu selection has a wide variety of options. Food presentation was excellent. CONS: Im not sure if it was just an extremely hot day or their AC was inadequate, or both, but with a south-facing window in the front it was about 80 degrees inside. While the service was prompt and curteous getting a small plate of sushi for one person took over 30 minutes. My girlfriend was done with her beef yakisoba before I got my sushi. I ordered the Tuna Dinner and from the description I was expecting a large plate with lots of sushi. I guess I dont feel like I got what I expected for $26. Ive ordered $35 worth of sushi at other places and have gotten giant platters of food and was stuffed. I felt like I was lacking for what I paid. Lastly, and this is more a function of the layout of the whole residential/commercial complex in which they reside but the parking is awful. If the food had arrived quicker I may have given 4 stars instead of 3.

4 stars for the food. The sushi is good quality albeit a bit pricey. 1 star for service. The place was fairly busy, and there was only one server, one sushi chef, and one split chef/server. It took 20 min and two requests to get green tea, another 15 min to get my first roll, and 10 to 15 more to get the salmon skin handroll I ordered at the same time. As I waited yet another 10 minutes for my scallop handroll the check then arrived; the roll was forgotten, but the price was on the bill. A reminder produced the missing roll in 5 minutes, which indicates to me the roll doesnt take nearly as long to make as it appeared or itd been sitting behind the counter for a while. As I waited I watched a woman wait for her called in to-go order for half an hour then return because something was forgotten. Regulars and those that sit at the bar seem to get more attention.

Honestly, this has to be one of the best places for fresh sushi Ive ever been to. Anthony (lead sushi chef in kirkland) and Peter (in redmond) as well as Mark and Tao and other do just an absolute fantastic job. This place does get crowded which can cause some slowness in service, but that is to be expected in a small restaurant. I always sit at the sushi bar and they get you your orders a little quicker that way. I cant say enough about the sushi. It is extremely fresh and abundant with flavor. Anthony does a great job at making creative dished upon request. If you havent be tried Otos yet it is definitely a must. Get here around 530-630 and try and sit at the bar. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you Otos for your exceptional service and food! My wife and I will always keep coming back!

The sushi is delicious and reasonably priced, the staff is friendly and courteous, and it has a lovely location not far from Juanita Bay Lake. It gets very crowded on weekends and for dinner, but every other time - including the lunch rush - is pretty quiet. If youre not a sushi person, they have plenty of non-sushi options, including a beautiful miso. If you like sushi, the Lisa Lisa, Avalon, and Philly rolls are to die for! The only real con is how long the wait can take at times-- is not uncommon to wait half an hour for your food, regardless of how busy they are. If you arent in a rush or dont mind a wait, Oto Sushi is a very lovely, relaxing little place thats definitely worth visiting if you happen to be in the area.

This place has delicious sushi! Their style is nice, I have never had to wait very long for a table (or at all). Service can either be really great, or very slow, I usually go with friends so waiting doesnt really matter to me. The best thing is that they do take out so if you really dont want to wait, or even sit down you just call it in. I always leave here happy and full of their creamy maguru roll (my favorite)!

The food here is delicious. Service is usually good. It can get crowded at times so I suppose others like it as much as I do. I have noticed that as someone who orders the same rolls every time I visit, they at times are inconsistent--the rolls may be missing the sauce or seeds they are supposed to have. This is likely due to different chefs making the rolls but one would think ingredients would be consistent, no?
