Always a fun time painting pottery and drinking coffee. They always have a nice selection of pastry goodies if you want some as well. They have the cafe part and the pottery section (2 separate rooms) but open to walk through. It is a wonderful time and we go often. They are always super super helpful when needing advice or demonstrating new techniques. This is great for all ages and they also have a private party room.

Two reasons why Im giving it only 1-star: 1) It only has one plug that can be used to plug in your computer (Im not exaggerating). 2) They dont have WIFI (Im not exaggerating). Once these are fixed, I would gladly take down this 1-star rating. The location is great and have a very friendly staff.

Good coffee, large pottery and paint selection. My toddler loves this place. The pottery is a little more expensive than you might initially think, but the experience is great. Studio fee but if you dont finish your price you dont have to pay it again when you come back to finish it. Great for kids.

Great coffee slurping place and wonderful staff... I do wish they would open earlier during the spring and summer months it would be nice to be able to watch the early morning mist rising from the harbor while sipping on their great coffee

Java & Clay Cafe is a classic Gig Harbor establishment. It is a fantastic place to take the kids for a weekend or summer activity, birthday party, or just to escape the warm summer weather for a delicious frozen lavender lemonade.

Had great food, painting, and family time with my mom at a "Ladies Night Out" pottery night at Java and Clay. Cant wait for my next break away to do some more creative projects. Fantastic place, fantastic owners and lovely staff.

We love going here. It is kind of pricey so make sure to plan for that. Most items are more that $15. There is no studio fee because the prices are higher. You can get cafe food while painting also, but it is also very expensive.

Coffee and clay; can it get any better? Their vanilla chai tea lattes are AMAZING! Such a fun experience for locals and visitors! The staff is super friendly and readily available to answer questions and get you coffee!

Very different take on a coffee shop. My daughter brought me here so she could paint a plate. Lots of creative ideas for what ever piece of clay you decide to paint. Very friendly staff and the coffee is good too.

Cute shop with good atmosphere. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor. Right next to the water. Friendly and efficient staff. Got the lavender latte, mocha, and a banana blueberry muffin. All were delicious!!
