Went in today for lunch. I am fairly new to the area. This place looked interesting. I walked all the way there from 25th and Everett ave.I love walking. I went out for a holiday stroll. I loved the food, However, the service was horrid. The server treated me as if I had egg on my face. Shen never thanked me once., Never asked me if everything was ok, Granted, I was not looking quite as pretty as I could have, LOL ( I just worked a 17 day stretch). Must have looked a bit worn out, I do not know. I was also going to order 2 more french dip sandwiches for take home and another glass of wine.... But the server asked " WILL THERE BE ANYTHING ELSE ?" while she had my bill already in her hand. Of course I said no, even though I found it an appealing and relaxing setting, I may have even had more than 1 drink. I do not know what her problem was....Does she pick and choose only certain customers to be nice to? The table next to me got great service, she even spoke to them in a friendly manner... WOW! Hmmmmm.... I just was so disturbed and disappointed by her behavior mainly because, I was a server for many years and never treated anyone like that. I will not be returning, nor do I recommend it to anyone dining alone. I might get it to go.... It was tasty.... As long as that server is not there to take my money......SO SAD!

The customer service I received last night was the worst I have ever come across in a restaurant in my whole lifetime! No acknowledgement or greetings upon entry, self service on choosing a table with the table being dirty and no one offering to clean it, had to ask someone to take our menu order, no refills ever, food was cold upon receipt and the server after plunking down the cold food was never seen again... I ended up going up to the bar and asking a different server to break a $20 (and she had to ask another server to help me), so we just totaled the amount ourselves and left the cash on the table and got out of there because after being there for almost 1.5 hrs we didnt want to have to deal with paying with a credit card. Seriously, this place has such potential because of the location and the fun vintage atmosphere, but the harried wait staff and apathy shown to literally all who entered (our heads werent the only ones swiveling around looking for help) made it so that Id prefer to give them zero stars if I could. From reading the prior reviews maybe theyre better at breakfast and lunch, but because of my poor experience I will never return and I will never recommend it to others.

I seem to have had a completely different experience than most people...I actually found the food to be quite affordable. When I went there, I got cod, salad, steamed veggies (in place of french fries), bread, and a dessert (chocolate ganache) for ~$10. I thought the food tasted great, especially for that price. The Chocolate Ganache is AMAZING. I would go just to taste it. That being said, the atmosphere and service arent the best. The service is okay, but the atmosphere is more that of a bar than of a restaurant. Its not the type of place I usually go to. But, Im glad I took the chance. I like it. Im a 19-year old college student and I enjoy going here with my dad, grandma, and stepmom to get some good, affordable food. I wouldnt recommend it for young children or any romantic occasion (e.g. Valentines Day.)

What I do like about this place is the ambiance inside. The vintage look is cute. The food is ok. Very small portions. The reason its getting a bad review is for a problem that occurs EVERY single time we have ever visited. The wait time to order and then actually get the food is absolutely ridiculous. Its take about 30 min place an order and then about an hour to get the food. Its a disaster. Most of the servers look absolutely miserable. We get rude attitude every time we come. I feel like were always walking on egg shells around the servers. Our server last time was ok. She was trying really hard not to look miserable and wear a smile. Besides her, the ppl are not happy which really sets the environment negatively. This was our last straw. Not returning. Would not recommend.

The owner Jim is a complete snake! The staff is nice enough, but he oversees everything and is a selfish money hungry biz owner. No pride in his work at all, just on appearance. I think his motto would be to make it look inviting to get a lot of ppl to come in once instead of making customers happy so they will come in again. Pricess are high and not very welcoming unless ur "important" in his eyes. He was also yelling at one of his tenants (above the restraunt) and when he walked away Jim was talking about him like he was above ppl like that. Well Jim, actually ppl like "that" are the ones paying your bills and allowing u to feel important. Get a clue.

I really enjoy eating here. The food has always been great when Ive ate here. I keep seeing negative comments about the customer service and I have to agree, there has been a time or two where it was not the best but there has also been times when the staff was super friendly. who knows, might be the same staff member who keeps bringing in all the negative reviews? Overall this place is in between a 3/4. The thing that throws me off the most is not the food or the staff but the smell. Im sorry to say this but the restaurant smells like a dirty bathroom :(

I came to this restaurant because I was getting work done on my car down the street and I didnt want to walk around Everett for 2 hours so the bartender and the server were very nice very attentive very helpful and didnt mind that I sat there for 2 hours on my computer waiting for my car!! I had their oatmeal and some coffee never was my cup empty and they were very kind i will definitely come back here to eat again great menu choices also

We had a nice meal. The service was OK the Cafe wasnt too busy. We loved the beautiful interior. The 1900s feel was fun. Everything was clean..a must for us. My husbands said his fish was excellent and my soup, salad and bread was fine (Im not a fan of head lettuce.) We didnt buy a lot of extras like soda and desert and our lunch was around $20.00 w/o tip. We arent shocked by that price...so Id say the price was fine.

Went for brunch. Food was prompt and the staff didnt constantly hover over us. Cant stand being asked how the food is before even having the first bite. My sandwich was prepared exactly as I asked for. The soup actually tasted home made. The atmosphere was clean and nostalgic. Love the glass features. I can see how it might get crowded due to a seemingly limited seating area. Parking could be a challenge. Will be back.

Comfortable restaurant. I frequent this cafe. Very cool vibe. The food is good and they have some tasty specials. This is a place to go and have a conversation with friends. There is no loud television droning in the corner. The staff has always been nice. I enjoy the soup(bowl) and salad. Very hardy and clean. I guess there is a reason they have been in business for so long, they know what they are doing.
