I am writing this reveiw based off of the information i have gathered from a good friend of mine a old employee to this restaurant, and from my own experience. Before i get started, Canyons was a good restaurant a long time ago, and what most people dont know is that the old owner sold this restaurant to an Indian family and started a new Italion Buisness because he realized the buisness was failing. This family at first took care of the restaurant but than the Redmond location was passed down the the owners son "Gunner" a around 25 year old, man, swag-diva that has no idea how to run a restaurant or hire the right employees, let alone keep employees. Now the restaurant in Bothell is rejected and neglected by Gunner and his family, needs new carpet, the walk in ceiling is falling apart and inside the seats in the walk in is dusty old things to hangup on the walls. The carpet on the inside smells and does not look maintained. The seats are sticky. The biggest problem with this restaurant is the employees are seriously disrespected, mostly just the hostesss. The waiter always has the host come up and ask the table how they are doing and they make the hostesss grab all the plates from the table and ask " can i get you anything else" i usually just tell them to bring me my waiter. They always get the orders wrong and after they bleach the floors the whole place reaks of urine. The womens bathroom is trashed, smells bad, never has any toilit papper and the seat covers are always gone. They let young girls wear short mini skirts to work and i dont know if they have changed it but i heard that girls are required to wear make up and not aloud to wear pants except on fridays and then they have to wear leggings or yoga pants. Thats just the beggining The dishes come out of the dish washer with black smudges all over them and the dish washer is to old and smells like rotten eggs. The kitchen fridges that they keep condements is broken and leaks. My friend said that one time they saw the water under neithe the fridge molded and blue and green and slimey like some one hadnt cleaned it in ages. The employees eat off of the customers plates, suchs as , fries, chips, wings, coconut shimp, check how many are there before you dig in! Every now and than one goes missing! They never have enough tables for big parties but still except them. They sit there struggling to get ten tables to fit together. They constantly fill up your water when its still half way full and i find it kindof rude because i dont want some random person grabing my small glass of water five times within my hour of being there. Get bigger glasses or leave a pitcher at the table. I honestly get bothered by hostesss asking me things i would like to speak to my waiter not a random person who probably has no idea what ive ordered or what i might want. The cooks and the employees constantly eat inside the kitchen and i have heard that the cooks go out to smoke a bunch of cigarettes than get back to cooking without washing their hands. Canyons is a restaurant for old men who dont care about the quality of the food and spend their time looking up the mini skirts of the hostesss. Its a dying company that has no respect for their employees and the girl employees obiously have no respect for themselves judging by what they are wearing. i know 8 people who have gotten food poisening from the seasonal chowder bowl. Oh yeah and you know the sauces on your plate and the pickle and all the little things? Those have been placed on your plate by an employee with no gloves on in a discusting kitchen that is never properly cleaned. The whole company is falling apart. The old owner got out of it while he could, wise choice on his part Btw dont get the chips and salsa because itll rack up your bill before you know it! This is nothing but a lame excuse for a mexican restaurant thats ran down and neglected.

The only reason they are getting one star from us is because the server made it worth it. Thanks Chuy for not forgetting about us. This was our first time coming into this establishment. My daughter, my fiancé and myself thought it would be a nice place to get Mexican or at the very least TexMex as they advertise. Nothing on the menu impressed me and the prices did not help. I went with the southwest prawn fettuccine. When we walked it is smelled like delicious seafood pasta dish, so I went with it. Let me tell you, you are better of going to Olive Garden. My Prawns were rubbery, over cooked and tasteless. Believe me, I can enjoy plain oh prawns with a dipping Saunders but these guys had NO flavor. As if they boiled the flavor out of them! The only thing on my dish I really enjoyed was the garlic bread, oh man, that was good! I dipped it the fettuccine sauce and it was great. Which made me come to my conclusion , they toss everything at the end, nothing sits and takes in the flavor. I dont mind waiting for GOOD food!! I forgot to mention, for some odd reason they garnished my dish with "Tajin" for what reason?!! I have no clue. There was no need for this on my dish. Now, my fiancé got the Mahi Mahi tacos. My daughter gets bigger piece of fish in her school lunch!! A ruler is wider than the piece of fish he got in his tacos. The slaw they add to the tacos was heavy on the fluids. I saw him pick up the taco and about 2oz of fluid drip down. They paired it with an avocado mixture - avocados must not be in season because it had no true flavor. My fiancé said the beans and rice were ok. My daughter got the chicken tenders on the kids menu. Its chicken tenders who messes up chicken tenders, no one. They were fine, fries-- I wonder if they run across the parking lot and get some from McDonald. Lol. Anyway they were okay too. My issue with her meal was that she ordered a Sherly temple. Isnt it standard to get cherries in your sherly temple? Nope. I guess not. Her drink looked like sprite & red food color. When I asked Chuy for some cherries he brought 10 of them, a little excessive but my daughter loved it. But all I needed was one or two cherries in her drink. I spent the duration of the time telling my daughter she couldnt have ALL those cherries. Call me picky but, I was not impress at all.

Its been years since we last ate at Canyons, the food was okay and it tasted fine- I thought my $11 burger was worth the money we paid for it, but after we got there I realized that I had forgotten just how SLOW the service was. Thats why I had sworn 6 years ago never to return. The place wasnt busy, it was pretty much empty- so I dont understand why it took over 2 hours start to finish to get 3 hamburgers, a reuben sandwich and a ton of cold seasoned fries. We arent talking gourmet fine dining here, and I was really hungry. Id give them 5 starts if they could get the food out quickly and we didnt wonder if they had forgotten us. This has been a pattern with canyons in my experience.
