AVOID. Overpriced and poor service. I wanted sweet and sour chicken with fried rice instead of steamed rice which I was informed I would have to order separately because they cant substitute, so they wanted to charge me for an entire entree of fried rice which was 10 dollars on top of the 16 dollar chicken. So I just opted for the 10 dollar chicken fried rice entree instead which turns out to be about 5 ounces of rice and maybe 2 ounces of chicken, but since I wanted no veggies in the rice I was charged extra because they would "have to cook it".... so where does all the other rice come from?? My husbands Generals chicken was very bland flavored for as much sauce as it was soaked in and I actually found two small BONES in my chicken fried rice. We were charged 3 dollars a piece for 6 ounce sodas and refills were NOT included. And be warned, when the server brings your food and asks if she can "do anything else for you guys tonight" she actually means ANYTHING because she wont be back after she brings the food. Whenever you decide youve had enough youre expected to go to the front and wait for someone to ring up your food so you can pay and get the heck out because by then thats all youll want to do.

Ive eaten here about 7 or 8 times, food has been good or great and the service has been sufficient. Last night my girlfriend got take out about 30 minutes to closing time. We both got the "E" meal, my egg roll tasted soured and my egg flour soup also tasted sour/funky. In other words neither tasted like they had the times before. The fried rice, lo mein and honey walnut chicken all seemed fine. Both items were obviously old, how old who knows, but both had to have sat around way too long to taste that way and make my stomach turn, I dont normally complain about a little funk in my food, but it doesnt normally make me sick. This 1-star review can be changed with an apology and a change in practices. Until then Im passing on New Peking.

Lets address some of these bad reviews first. Quite a few had great experiences. One said even 8 times and once was bad. I dont believe that merits a 1 star review. Also, excuse me crazy lady ....the general Sao chicken is the best ever. Its crispy and evenly spicy .... Ive had it 3 times now. I actually steal some of my partners rice every time so I can soak up the sauce and eat it. Great service. Sometimes a little unorthodox but I love that about them. Top it off we left our box and the waiter ran out before we left. I think the moral of the story is if you get bad service here you were probably a jerk lol but no seriously everyone has off days. Definitely give these guys a try. You wont regret it.

Im posting this review after my third visit to this restaurant. Each and every time my partner and I have dined here we have always left pleasantly satisfied. The service is prompt and all the staff weve interacted with have been professional and courteous. I dont think Ive ever had to ask for a refill and they also box up your leftovers for you. The restaurant is clean and well kept which is always something to appreciate. The food is excellent! Their Generals chicken is a must have. It has always been fried perfectly and evenly sauced. Another favorite is the Mongolian Beef! We havent ordered anything that we werent happy with. This will become my new go to place for delish Chinese food.

My family and I have been dining at New Peking for over 7 years. Although some of the interior might be a little out of place, the food makes it worth coming back for more. The most surprising thing is to see such authentic Chinese cuisine all the way out in the middle of Pierce County!! As a former Seattle resident who has lived near the international district, I would highly recommend New Peking to anyone who is looking for REAL Chinese food. Also, you should note that some of the below reviews are referring to their lounge so you shouldnt really regard them if youre trying to eat at the restaurant.

The owner informed us after we received a very poor 60.00 meal that was not fit to eat. For us to come back and he himself would cook it or supervise the cooking and for us just to call when were ready. So we did and when I reminded him he began to yell liar over the phone and continued to do so. I am a local business owner of a commercial beverage company and service hundreds of restaurants all over western wa. His is one of the worst for food, customer servce, and cleanliness. I would never recomend anyone to eat or even drink in his establishment. Or his bar next door.

The food and the restaurant is good! Order their honey almond chicken! The bar tender they hired ignored us because it was too busy for just one person. It took forever to order our food. In fact as I am writing this, she still hasnt taken our order. Could just be a rough night but if youre coming for a bite and a quick drink. Perhaps go to a different bar! Just warning you... 20 minutes later... Still waiting.

April 23, 2017 We have always enjoyed our meals at the New Peking until this evening ☹️ We are SO disappointed. Our food was cold, they "ran out of" fried rice. No one came to ask us how our meal was. It was horrible! They were very busy and they kept apologizing for that and it would have been ok but our food was lousy and I really dont think they cared. We wont be back for awhile... ☹️

First time ordering here: pretty unsatisfied with the food we got for the price I paid! a. The rice, the rice is NOT FRIED RICE, its steamed rice with veggies. B. The almond chicken gravy was water runny, that is supposed to be thick and creamy with a grease ring around the edge. C. The chicken chow mein noodles were so dense and thick they were chewy! YUCK! I am never going back!

I read the reviews after coming here, but before ordering. The egg drop soup lacks flavor, and the fried rice is nothing special, however, their Honey Walnut Shrimp is good, and the service was more than decent for Chinese. Overall I would rate this about 4 stars, nothing great, but still good.

Food was good came with a party of 6 half the guests ordered soda to drink , when they asked for a refill was told they could literally only one guest could have a refill , the rest had to pay for another soda . Food was good, but couldnt believe they charge for refills on soda

Went in last minute to have dinner during a dinner rush. Was treated very kindly from the server while we waited a short time. Server was very patient with me and my young daughter. Loved the experience and highly recommend the food and Id suggest to request the server Brian.

Good Amer-Chinese food done well or they apologize and ask you to please come back again. You cannot beat that these days! My only complaint is a couple of their severs do try sadly they need to find another occupation that they are better suited for.
