We did walk in an hour before closing I will admit to that. The selection appeared to be less than the previous buffet that occupied this location. The sushi bar was limited in choices. The hibachi had a selection of chicken, beef, shrimp, fake crab, bay scallops, and a small choice of vegetables, noodles, and raw eggs. I really didnt see anything much else appetizing among the buffet. The crab ragoon was sour bitter, both the spring roll and egg roll was dry. I will say the service was ok, until it got closer to closing and they started staring at us to leave. They didnt touch what was left on the buffet until we stood to leave. It was definitely not worth $26.65 ( that was with a 10% discount for mentioning the Facebook page) and I seriously doubt we will go back.

I thought this place is a nice replacement for Old Town Buffet. The selection on the buffet is very good. Like most of the Chinese buffets Ive been to, some of the items have sat out a bit too long (dry, and or overcooked), but they tend to refresh fairly often. The price is very reasonable, especially for lunch. I would definitely recommend the seafood bake and the boiled dumplings. I dont care for sushi, but my wife loves it, and she said the sushi here is very good...not the best shes ever had, but very good nonetheless. Ive yet to try the hibachi, so I will do that the next time I return. Id definitely recommend this restaurant.

There is plenty of seating, the venue is spaced nicely. I was very pleasantly surprised at quickly we were seated, how friendly the staff was, how great the service was and how awesome the food was. There was such a large variety of food, I did not even get to about half of the buffet tables! At the end of my meal, I was even more pleased with the Ladies Room/Washroom. It was beautifully decorated and clean. The toilet paper was soft and rolled smoothly from the dispenser! The door closed easily and there was a hook to hang my purse. I cant say enough good things about this place, and I will be back for Part II very soon!

Hey everyone. I live in Ohio. When I come to Pittsburgh to visit my daughter, shell ask me, mom, where do you want to eat? Because she knows that the only place I enjoy dining at is the Fortune Buffet, she follows her question with, let me guess, the buffet." Folks, let me tell you. The experience here is superb. The environment is comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the temperature of the food is just what it should be to be enjoyable. I will have to stop here because I can go on and on in expressing why anyone should come here to dine. Happy eating, Ms. Debra

Went there for lunch today and the food was excellent! Theres a large selection of Chinese food, seafood, sushi, and American food. They have a fruit, ice cream, create your own stir fry, and sushi bar. We had no wait, were greeted by a friendly waiter, and were welcomed back by a man specifically thanking people for stopping in. Everything was clean and our plates were quickly removed from the table after we finished each one. All of the food was hot and fresh! Ill definitely stop back!

Everything is usually decent, but dont go on Saturday nights. They upcharge because they have crab legs - but, theyre usually very small, overcooked and waterlogged. We had a batch of them that some of the legs were empty when you crack them open. I dont know where they buy their crab from, but you can get better quality crab at walmart then the junk they serve. Other than that, the place is decent and there is sushi so theres that...

2nd best place to get General Tsos in Pittsburgh... if its fresh. (First place is Cambodican Kitchen in South Side). Weve been to Fortune Star a number of times and havent had a bad experience yet. The best time to go is during the lunch rush on Friday! My favorites are: General Tsos Chicken (note, the fresher and crispier the better), Fried Shrimp, Fried Fish, Baked & Seasoned Fish, Chicken On A Stick & Black Pepper Beef.

If they are going to advertise crab legs on Fridays and charge extra they should put out more than one pan per night (seriously - we were there for 2 hours and they never replaced one pan of crab legs). The gentleman at the Hibachi grill took forever to take my food and cook it and acted like he was very irritated that I disturbed him . The only thing I would recommend is the ice cream.

My 1st time there. My brother was there numerous times. We went for the lunch buffet. For $7.95 it was totally amazing! Service was wonderful and the food was great. I came home and told my husband about it and we went back a few days later. They never let dirty dishes on your table. Cannot say enough about this place. Our new favorite.

the server took my credit card and acted like he was just charging my dinner. He then attempted to use my credit card to charge a lot of merchandise before he wandered back with my credit card. Now, I am waiting for a new credit card because mine has been cancelled by the credit card company. dont go there unless you are paying CASH.

The food was extremely bad. Just about all the food was old.fyi I absolutely love Chinese food. Would die for it to be honest. So needless to say I was completely devastated by the non tastiness that added to my calorie intake for the day. I cant say I had a bad experience I simply just had terrible food. I will not be returning.

The food is good. Not bad. For $7.95 for lunch is great. The choice of sushi is limited. The food is hot and always been refresh. The waiter is quick and clean as soon as your plate is empty. I love the sweet cream cheese puff. I give 3 because I wish the choice for sushi is more, hot sauce /siracha and the food is hit and miss.

Good Food, Totally Remodeled! We really like Fortune Star in Monroeville and glad to see this much closer to home. Located an old Chinese Buffet location, the Fortune Star is totally remodeled and very nice. The food is very tasty and hot and fresh. The selections are various. There is a sushi bar and a fresh made grill.

The place is really nice and clean and the price is really good. The only problem I have is that they dont have octopus and kimchi. I love kimchi and they should try to put it in the buffet. Other than that I love this place and that why I give 4 star.
