Tried Golden China several times.... maybe 6 times now... due to where I live now at my new apartment... I sometimes come to the Food Lion in the same shopping plaza when I dont have time to go to Food Lion in Hollins. The food here at Golden China is pretty tasty but they wont deliver to my new apartment... even though its just at the border of Roanoke and Salem. Its more into the Salem area but many people still consider it Roanoke. I offered them $10 on a tip if they delivered it. The lady hung up the phone on me... i had to call back... That was pretty rude. I ate in the restaurant at least 3 times. I think the restaurant is too small... probably better suited for take out. Also the people in the restaurant.... they often asked me a lot of nosey questions.... like Why do you always eat by yourself? Do you have a girlfriend? Do you work? ... In this town Ive found a lot of people are nosey... i dont care if youre trying to get to know me and my situation. I appreciate your interest or whatever... but please dont ask these sorts of questions! I have a wife and have been married a long time but with her job, its hard for her to go out. She gets off really late.... so yeah. My picture on here is me and her. In regards to the restaurant I would probably recommend this place but its not as good as some of the chinese restaurants in Roanoke and they dont deliver to my new apartment no matter how big of a tip I offer.

Well when I called the restaurant the lady was rude and couldnt understand what she was say . I order a $15 meal and was told it will be there 45 min so I waited and by reading all the reviews , though the food was going to be great .. so when my food arrive the driver was nice and gave him a tip . I started to eat my food which in order fired rice w/ boneless ribs , as I started to eat the rice didnt taste so good . I think it was not cook enough ... then I tasted the boneless spare rids and didnt even bother the rest of it . I got fired chicken wings and they were burnt and a order of beef teriyaki , its was not 5asted and not cook right ... I also think the beef didnt smell right cuz it had a weird smell ... like I never smell before but Idk other then that not my very good restaurants that I might come back

Im not well travelled or a connoisseur of Asian foods, but compared to my wifes "go-to" chinese restaurant in the mall, this restaurant served us two dinner orders to-go, quickly. We were not disappointed when we got home; my wife ordered General Tsos chicken with white rice and requested not too spicy. She got exactly what she ordered. I had beef with broccoli and white rice. It was spiced mostly with garlic which I like. I think Ill try a spicier dish next time. They advertise free delivery and free sodas with multiple dinners. Primarily a take-out restaurant, there are a few tables if youd like to eat-in. Recommend you give them a try, especially if youre close by.

Service: Fast (they said "10 minutes", Im close and it was hot and waiting at least by then.) Price: Ok ($18.50 dinner for 3) Food: Good for takeout We had orange chicken and hunan beef. The chicken was kinda syrupy, salty, orange-y and generally pretty good. The hunan beef was uninspiring - about average. Both dishes carry the "Hot and Spicy" label which they really didnt deserve. The chicken was mildly spicy and the beef wasnt detectably spicy. Our daughter ate the chicken readily and wasnt bothered. We had some crab rangoon also that wed guess probably werent fried fresh for us - but were still passable. Good takeout. Well probably go back sometime.

Ive been to this restaurant once and ONLY once... People are very smart-a$$ish and rude. I called to see if they delivered they told me yes, and when I told them I was in Salem (only about 7 miles away, mind you) they got an attitude and said "we dont deliver to Salem" I explained that the GPS said it was 7 miles then she got loud and said "WE DON"T DELIVER TO SALEM... OK!!!". Enough said! Theyll NEVER get my business. Hopefully youll save yourself the trouble of dealing with people like this... There are WAY better Chinese Restaurants in Salem to NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS TYPE OF TREATMENT.

Service: Fast, Price: Very Good, Food: Outstanding We take-out frequently from Golden China and consistently find their food much better than their competitors. I especially like their garlic and curry dishes. All Hot & Spicy items are professionally prepared at the low end of spice range, but are increased in spice to desired taste. We have never had less than hot or fresh food offered, and they are always extremely friendly. I will gladly continue to give them my patronage over others in Roanoke.

Best reasonably-priced Chinese takeout in town. We moved to SW County and have tried several times to find a similar place nearby, but they have all been disappointing. (That says a lot considering most peoples expectations from quick Chinese takeout.) So, we still drive north for takeout from Golden China. The food is great and the service is excellent. They are very friendly!

If I could give a zero star I would give a zero star... I ordered the happy family meal and they give me something else and when I called to question they want to argue with me... Dont want nothing for free just want what I ordered... the crabs were fishy tasting.. And fish food is not supposed to taste fishy when it is fresh... will never spend another dime at this establishment

I have ordered like 3 times from here, the only parts that are good are the house fried rice, shrimp eggrolls the fried wings and fries, and the delivery guy very friendly, but have had two bad expiriences with a beef broccoli, wonton soup, and shrimp broccoli they all had a rotten taste and smell to them, was not able to eat them at all, so will not order those again.

This place has quality food when it comes to take out. The service was great, friendly, and fast. I recommend it if youre in the mood for some chinese. Also to the guy who complained that they wouldnt deliver to salem, they are located in roanoke. I dont know any food places that would deliver to another city.

What I got was really good. I bet what ui ordered would have been really good also. The dumplings were without question great. The pork chow mein had little pork and white rice instead of noodles. I wouldnt hesitate to eat here again.

I called to request a delivery order late this evening and was told they would call back after providing my address. They did call back, but I was told I was too far away for a delivery. I live roughly six or seven minutes away.

Always good food. We love the take out there. Been going here for over 8 yesrs.. staff knows us by name and when we call in. We moved to Bedford and cant find anyone that can match their take out I highly recommend them.

Terrific little take out place. The food is delicious and the owners are very gracious! They are fast and their prices are very reasonable! This is my lunch time go-to place at least 2 times per week!
