Whisk is a very cute cafe! I went with a friend for a coffee date and was beyond disappointed. It was my first time there and customer service was lacking. She pretty much just stared at us and waited for us to place an order, no hello...welcome to Whisk...how can I help you...ready to order?! She did get nicer as we went along and even suggested I try an iced vanilla latte and a coffee crunch muffin. The latte tasted like a ton of milk and a splash of coffee...there was no vanilla taste at all. And I dont even know where to begin with the muffin. It was dry and contained a blackish brown almost burnt looking syrup on the bottom and throughout the center. I have had better muffins from the grocery store. My friend got a regular coffee and a peach raspberry muffin, which was also very basic! I went there with high hopes based on previous reviews and instead I wasted $16. If you are looking for over priced basic pastries Whisk is the place to go.

I was a first time visitor a few days ago and enjoyed my experience! There was a nice selection of pastries, baked goods, and desserts like macaroons (They had pistachio rosewater, matcha, and orange dreamsicle!) The oatmeal cream pies are packed with flavor and taste great. The Smores cookie was my favorite. They have a treat called a Whisker that is there take on a homemade Oreo! From their menu it looked like they also make cakes too and all the flavors looked appetizing. I will be returning to this place. There is some seating inside as well as some outdoor seating. They have punch out cards too so if you get enough goodies, youll get a free one once your card is full.

I found myself in the Shockoe Bottom of Richmond and after a few hours of aimless wandering that brought through the canals, over to Browns island and through the urban university campus, I made my way back to where i parked. And short-story made long i had parked coincidently across from Whisk. The coffee was boutique (although not to my liking, it was of fine quality), the presentation case was eye catching, and the scents energizing. All that being said, its the owners imagination that most impressed me ... I was an instant fan when i saw the cruffin. I came for a coffee and left with a babka!

The first review by Myles I thought was a bit harsh. Maybe you can search all of Richmond and piece together the best of the best from different bakeries but looking at Whisk with a bit more perspective its the best you can find in the Shockoe Bottom area. Its freshly baked and great quality. More than anything its a good place to meet a friend for a quick treat or snack and try something tasty that you cant get at a bar. The smell when you walk in is so nice and theyve done a great job of re-decorating. Thumbs up, definitely go check it out.

If I lived in Richmond this would be a place I would frequent. They have exactly everything you could want from a bakery. Flaky crusts, enormous macaroons, delightful muffins, cookies... its my inner fat kids dream. While certainly I could grab something cheaper at the Kroger down the road, the quality just isnt there, and the ambiance of a small bakery and coffee shop isnt something that the big grocery chains can duplicate. Great job guys! Keep doing what youre doing, and if you decide you want to open up shop near me let me know!

My wife loved this place when we came across it. It used to be a coffee shop when I lived in the area but now its a pretty fine bakery. Everything is freshly baked and the coffee is spot on. When we hit the road to head home, we got a mixed assortment of baked goodies to snack on and I gave to say these everything in the box was absolutely delicious. I really look forward to stopping here again when visit Richmond again.

If youre a fan of French Macarons, youve got to stop here! Whisk macarons are much larger than the usual size and a better value. The flavors change by the day but you can often find really unique combinations! They also have ice cream filled macarons with fresh, homemade ice cream that are amazing.

Perfect atmosphere for a local coffee. Very modern looking, and the latte is great! Its completely unique for it interior design which separate them from urban farmhouse and lamplighter. Parking is parallel and unlimited if you park on the 21st street. Would highly recommend!

Pastries were a delight. Kind of disappointed about the macarons (the filling tasted better than the cookie), but all in all everything else was delicious. Especially the salted caramel blondie. My coffee on the other hand was only warm and had grounds in it.

Not bad, fairly simple. Selection of baked goods is small but good. I would consider coming here again. Theres a small line of tables along the wall that are kind of more secluded if you want to be in peace and the storefront has a lot of natural lighting.

Chocolate croissant is wonderful. It also has incredible savory croissants as well. The atmosphere is wonderful; free wifi & nice back patio to enjoy on nice spring days. I love the chocolate chip cookies too!! Everything you need for your sweet tooth!

Like others have said, this is a really simple, basic bakery with the classics. Im a fan. Its good to have a place with the basics done right in our neighborhood. Also, while not huge, its our favorite place to hang out for coffee in Church Hill.

I got a small coffee and the chocolate croissant prior to an interview; that was a very tasty choice. Good amount of seating and service was prompt and friendly. Not too loud but plenty of foot traffic coming in and out.

Great little shop. Prices are very good. They dont offer quite the extensive coffee selection other stores do, but that is for a reason. They are a bakery foremost. Beautiful restaurant to pass the morning in.

The overall environment of this place is really cool and relaxing. I tried their croissants and they are so good. The best thing you can get here is the latte with no flavor, its the best in town, hands down!

Food is very good, pick up counter could use more thought as the space gets cramped and you wind up with someone elses order. There is never anywhere to sit because of the camping hipsters and their laptops.

Damn good stuff. They made the cake for the rehearsal dinner on our wedding weekend and it was incredibly tasty. Coffee is excellent and those croissants are straight up delicious.

You wont find a better pastry anywhere. You will know youre getting close because the amazing smell of baked goods covers the block. This place is a must have in Richmond.

I was in search of authentic French Macarons, unfortunately didnt find it here. They were way too big, heavy, and too sweet. Definitely not what you find in Europe.

The employees are kind as heck and the atmosphere is so delightful. Obviously really tasty and aesthetically pleasing baked goods. Can get pricey but worth it.

Great tasting, fresh, bake goodies. Baked right in their own kitchen. One of the best tasting Lattes Ive tasted. Great place to study, read or just hang-out.
