I google searched halal so I could have something to eat for a friend of mine. This place came up and I am so happy it did! Adis treated me like an old friend and had me try the tabouleh, cabbage roles, veggie soup, bread, chicken salad, egg plant, baclava, all of it. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. It was honestly expertly made. I loved everything. I came home with lentils and rice, cabbage roles that were delicious, amazing house made bread, and the best chicken salad Ive ever had! Adis and his wife also do catering and can accommodate many dietary needs! As Adis was talking with me, a man who looked a little down on his luck poked his head in. Adis told the man to come in and wait while he finished up with me. As I was driving away I saw Adis and the man sitting at a table eating soup and bread. We need this local caring place and more like it. If you are thinking about take out, eating in someplace casual, or food for a meeting or a party, think of 2M.

This place is amazing! Went for the first time yesterday after seeing it written up in a local magazine. The owner was very enthusiastic and generous, giving us samples of nearly everything. Went home with 1lb tubs of the hummus, tabouli, and eggplant/tomato side as well as two spinach/cheese pastries and six falafels (which are about twice the size of falafel youll get anywhere else). Everything was amazing. Went home and made lavash wraps with the falafel, hummus, and tabouli (with added feta, EVOO, and greens) and it was superb. Enough food to last for awhile. Ill definitely be a regular customer, especially for the hummus because store-bought hummus is crap and this is only ~$1 more for MUCH better quality. Please go support this business! Definitely a hidden gem. Ive been searching for a place like this for years and finally found it :)

What a gem!! Its this tiny little hole in the wall place that youd normally wouldnt think twice about. When you pass by, you blink and its gone. On a whim I went in to look for stuffed grape leaves. Immediately the owner came out and asked, "First time here?" When I said yes he waved me over and gave me a sample of every one of his delicious dishes behind the counter, starting with the hummus. I cannot possibly describe to you the party that happened on my taste buds. Everything is delicious!! I dont even really like hummus but I bought it and devoured it at home. It was amazing. I did find my grape leaves btw, they were everything I could have hoped for. He makes everything there himself, fresh, from scratch, everyday. Plus, hes one of the nicest people Ive met since moving into the area. I will definitely be back!!! Frequently!

Dear owner, you are a very kind man. In turn I want to be kind as well. You must consider going to a competitor and seeing how they market and sell this type of food. Mediterranean and middle eastern food is revered for its freshness and simple ingredients. In nearly 50 years of life, i have never been served an old stale Falafel which was microwaved to reheat. It cooks in just a few minutes when made fresh! Why reheat old ones? Just one example... Please also consider cleaning up! remove all your garbage from the floor and straighten the shelves. The ingredients you sell look old and have been there for many years. Lastly, please consider repairing the ripped chairs and replacing the table cloth on tables. You want more business, but you are not earning it.... You have some work to do brother.... Good luck!

Heres what I like and dont like about this place , once you get in it feels like family bizness which I like , the chef/the owner , gave us samples and that feels very warming and I we loved it , then he told us he will take care of us, meaning hook us up with great food , we said go ahead , the plate was great , hummus , taboli , bread and lamb meat , the lamb with kinda chewy To me ... Between the drinks and the soup ( its just an Italian pasta soup ) and the plate of lamb taboli and hummus , it was almost 30$ .... Come on man , that was a shockin price for me , it was all worth a 15-18$ not more a dime , If you wanna go its not bad but its not worth the price for sure .....

I went there to buy halal mean. I was given a frozen bag. When I brought it home, we figured out that it was rotten and smelling the worst thing I have smelled in my life. I immediately rushed back to return it. And guess what, he offered me to take that meat back and in return give me another pack. When I said, I rather want my money back, he told me that he does not know how to cancel a credit card transaction. Finally he gave me 2 dollars less of what I paid him. And to my surprise, instead of trashing that bad meat I returned, he kept it back in the refrigerator!!!!!! Will he victimize someone else???? I will never ever go there to buy any meat ever in my life.

Unfortunately my husband and I thought the owner was a straightforward man, and when he asked us if we would like to try a sample platter "especially" made for us, we agreed. It turned out that we both were given our own $14 (!!!!!) sample platters, with hummus that was a bit old, baba ganoush, stale pita, and two grape leaves....it was more expensive than anything on the menu and it had less than any of the other sample platters on the menu.....our meal turned out to be over $40 for the WORST Mediterranean food we have EVER eaten. And he totally HUSTLED US.....AT A RESTAURANT.....very strange experience.

THE BEST HUMMUS IN RVA. I stopped in 2M to pick up a specialty ingredient (pomegranate molasses) that I thought they might have. They had that and soooo much higher more. I met the owner, who happily shared samples of all his authentic Mediterranean dishes, without being asked. He was a pleasure to meet, and his food was even sweeter. I guess his plan worked, because I bought more than intended, including the best hummus I have ever had. But I am not complaining. I will have to keep coming back, and I recommend everyone visit this hole-in-the-wall gem as soon as you can!

Free samples, 10% discount for new customers , friendly owner, and of course, the best Mediterranean food I have ever tasted. What more do you want? They have hiding out in a mostly empty strip for the past 15 years, and I think this deli is the only thing keeping the area alive. I stopped in late and was able to taste all the food he had prepared. The owner was giving me tips on how to keep everything fresh and some fun ideas for new recipes while I looked around. I hope more people visit this place, as everyone should have access to such delicious food.

2M was a phenomenal find one random evening I was in Richmond over night. Adis, the owner, is a big, happy, chef that loves his food. After dinner one night, I went back the next day for lunch. VERY good Mediterranean food that might be just a tiny bit different than what you are used to. Adis is from Bosnia Herzegovina and has an interesting culinary background having moved to Morocco to study French cuisine. Definitely recommend stopping in and trying some of his food. I can guarantee I will return and tell anybody I know visiting Richmond.
