What a horrid experience dining at the Jefferson Restaurant last night with a group of wealthy Filipino women. When paying a $600 tab youd think a better dining experience would be warranted. The manager, I believe her name was Melissa, was extremely abrasive, aggressive and unprofessional. Not only was the food bland, but the racial undertone of the other guest dominated our groups right to an enjoyable and comfortable evening. Being caucasian myself, on the way out of the restaurant I was accosted by an older blonde woman who confronted me and said, "You people, take to many pictures and its quite telling what type of people you are and where you came from" Taken back by the comment, and I stated back, "Obviouly class and tack are not part of yours". While leaving, I stopped to tell Melissa that I do not appreciate the undertone of the other guest and the manner in which she spoke to our group. Immediatly, she at face value, took the racial side of the complaining older white woman, as of the Asian minority status of my group deligitimized our position and right to a enjoyable evening. I paid the measly $200 tab for the racially biased guest and left a note that stated, "Obviously class is not in your forte." Maybe our group was taken for illegal Latinos or some cheap one night out on the town club hoppers... but this could not be further from reality. Then again, sometime "you (us) people..." need a night out as well. 1 Star is a gracious considering the disgusting display of ostracized demeanor by the Manager and the wait staff. If someone is dining in the restaurant again, beware of the person in the photo. She does not particularly care of people of other race.

Our party of three dined here in mid-December 2012. It was our second visit to Lemaire within a year. No doubt we were able to get at a table at this four-star restaurant on a Friday evening because we were willing to eat late: about 9:30 p.m. Sadly, once again the quality of our meals did not measure up to the high ratings of the restaurant. Our sea scallops entre was too salty and on the dry side - creating the impression that it may have been prepared earlier and re-heated. The grilled rockfish entre was average in its preparation, as was the third entre, the red snapper. The décor and atmosphere of the restaurant , located in the imposing historic hotel The Jefferson - is elegant and inspiring, although the noise level at our table was a bit high, perhaps because the table was located too close to the bar. The entrance to the restaurant via the hotel lobby with exquisite Christmas decorations is impressive. Go for the atmosphere, go for drinks, or even try a dinner, but dont be surprised if your meals are not four-star quality.

You better follow up because they dont follow through . A simple request was not taken care of at my parents 50th anniversary dinner. Which is such a shame because they had such an enjoyable night, enjoyable evening and an enjoyable stay . But because the staff did not follow through on a prearranged purchase of a bottle wine, from their children, to celebrate their anniversary - my parents first story the next day , was from generous but yet unknown couple, they didnt know , buying them their anniversary dessert , no mention of their children trying to honor their anniversary . No way to fix this at this point - you only have your 50th anniversary once . As with everything these days you better follow up , is my only point - even at a five star hotel. Im so sad I didnt , I didnt think I needed to at the Jefferson .

My fiancé and I recently ate here for dinner on a Saturday. The cocktails are well blended and heavy on the alcohol. Highly recommend the Pom-tini. We were a bit disappointed in the mussel appetizer, as not all mussels were sufficiently cooked (i.e. shell opened, mussel a solid piece of flesh). However, both of our main entrees were outstanding - great balance of flavors, sufficient quantity of food, well seasoned, and appropriate temperature. Highly recommend!

This is my favorite spot in Richmond. I used to go here every other month for the Creme Brulee and their happy hour specials (for food). The service is impeccable, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is great. This place is a little pricey and if you plan to get full from your meal, then think again. The portions are small but they are amazingly Delicious. If you ever go here, I 100% recommend the Creme Brulee especially with the berries and mint.

Can not recommend this place enough. I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary, and we were rewarded with an incredible dining experience. Our server was highly knowledgeable of the menu and ensured our night was literally perfect. From the drinks, to the appetizer, to entrees and dessert, everything was flawless. Expect one of the best meals of your life at Lemaire!

Such a lovely place. We had a wonderful experience here. The staff made us feel very special, they took great care of us. The food was very well presented and delicious. Definitely recommend this place for a special occasion meal; its high quality and classy but very reasonably priced. Plus youll get to walk through the beautiful lobby of the Jefferson hotel.

Wow that was one delicious burger AND fries. It did take about 15minutes, as posted on their wall menu, and I was getting so hungry and antsy as I smelled the food from the grill in the kitchen, but boy was I glad I waited. The oozing melting cheese and the juicy patty, and then the thick cut fries were the perfect combo. It was so good!

I had the opportunity to co-host a luncheon at LeMaire this past month. The staff was attentive and helpful, not only with setting everything up, but the execution as well...the food options were delicious and the service was top notch! The Peanut Soup and Pumpkin Spice Creme Brulee were big hits...I loved the Nicoise Salad (imagined).

My fiancee and I ate here for our Anniversary Dinner and were impressed with the excellent service and quality of food. Very professional and knowledgeable staff. Were looking to eat there again and sad to read it is now closed down, but will re-open with the same executive chef and a new look. Looking foward to it.

This was our first visit to the new location. We loved the old location in Shockoe Bottom so I was skeptical. I like their new location with the large windows ...they can open the inside window/doors depending on how they need to do seating. The atmosphere was airy, modern but warm and inviting at the same time.

the decor is the star here in this restaurant in the jefferson hotel. the food specializes in local ingredients, with the virginia flair but its not that interesting. service is iffy. still, it appears that it is the place to see and be seen in richmond.

Cant speak for the dining experience since Ive only been to the happy hour at the bar. But everything is great on the happyhour menu. Love all their cocktails. Pretty big portion compared to the price too.
